It's not that simple. They banned the headscarves because muslim kids were wearing them back in 2004. Now they're banning the long flowing dresses that muslim girls are wearing. After they ban that, there will find something else to ban. It's not about the garment, they're trying to ban muslim (really North African) students from having any sort of visually discernible identity.
Don't hesitate to ask who said this dangerous statement.👇 More and more women no longer dare to take public transport for fear of being assaulted. We are going to double the police presence in transport, in particular at times when attacks are most observed. & And look at the state and its ministers are busy with what.
This is one of the most ridiculous rules of any nation anywhere. As one of the guests notes, the question must be asked whether it is possible for someone to wear this clothing and not be religious? Is it a cultural expression? A fashion statement? Men are not banned in France from wearing turbans, which is a religious article of faith by Sikhs. What is up with that? This is not the 19th century and no other religion in France is anywhere near contesting the French political hierarch as the Catholic Church did historically. In 2019, a nun was told she could not wear her habit in a retirement home. That was rescinded when it made news and was exposed for its cruelty. What kind of atavistic nonsense is this? Perhaps, the most remarkable aspect is that France, exceeded only by the UK in planting its flag across the world in places it had no business, has the audacity to claim it is protecting its home culture where it literally destroyed the culture and overran traditions everywhere else it landed, as the rest of European colonial powers did. Granted, France is on its 5th Republic, so maybe they are just a little scared that fashion may bring this one down, too. But how do they include liberté on their statement of national identity when they mean "except when it comes to your clothes"? Jeremy Stubbs sounds like a throwback to Queen Victoria's reign. What exactly makes a public school something other than a public forum when he claims that girls can "wear the abaya in public"---except school? It seems that France's best move to restrain theocratic influence is with cultural intolerance. C’est tellement français !

@muslimresponse103 in the US, you can have your child opt out of classes discussing anything controversial. In the more conservative states (Texas, Florida, Georgia etc etc), it's not at all part of the curriculum. Second, children are free to wear any religious clothing in US schools as long it doesn't disturb other students. The Supreme Court in the US has recently ruled on religious freedom within schools in a recent case. So, the matter is closed. You can pray in schools, wear religious clothing, etc, as long as you are not forcing others and not disturbing others. This comes from the fact that schools are localized and not federal. Her arguments were just clutching at straws in opposition to the ban. Women in Afghanistan are not allowed education and live in utter desperation with an extremely inhumane code of dress or rights. In Iran the women are much more able with their men folk to stNd up and be counted. In Saudi women have weathly fathers and are able to put up with their lack of certain rights. Go live in the countries as I have and then defend these religious practices

@@KateLickerSo you're saying ethnic group does not equal religious group? Agreed.
I'm saying that when they tell us a same set of garments worn globally by members of same religion are not garments re religion , that they are jerking us off...which jerking us off and jerking us around is also a critical part of that religion. @@Joe--

France again
A very distraction from France's internal problems and its being kicked out of Africa. A very good plan by Macron 😂😂😂😂
I’ve never known anyone who saw Islam as NOT directly connected to religion. Are there atheist Muslims?
in islamic states there are people who claim to be muslim when asked in public but they keep it to themselves because apostasy is punishable by death. Seen that some muslims even in europe keep their status as "muslim " but dont practise.. mostly because of killings
Leaving the Muslim religion can be dangerous for your health
Just declare Kilts for everyone; very practical and democratic!
😊 This will start a whole new argument. You know the bad blood between the French and the British !
As a Christian I don't support this ban.
Allah knows everything. Allah witnesses everything. People who ban Abaya, Hidjab respond in front of Allah
Does the dress remind France that they have been a Colonist country.
No actually it reminds them of the many Muslim driven murders they’ve experienced lately
This is simple. Are hats banned in school? If not, then let the girls wear what they like. If so, then ban it.
If it's a white pointed hat and identifies you in the klu Klux Klan, yes.
They wear the abaya without the hijab tho
Hats are banned in all european schools
Have you been in Europe? Ofc hats are banned in the classroom. Same as sunglasses or having earphones on.
Don't hesitate to ask who said this dangerous statement.👇
More and more women no longer dare to take public transport for fear of being assaulted. We are going to double the police presence in transport, in particular at times when attacks are most observed.
& And look at the state and its ministers are busy with what.
Leave their country to yours where you can wear whatever you want. You don't come to someone's land and want to tell them what to do
b-but who would turn this infidel country into peaceful if all muslims leave? :O
Just in, the Taliban have invited Macron to join forces and organize the clothing police.😂😂😂
Don't go to someone's home and tell them what and how to do things, you are the guest, its as simple as this. Otherwise stay home..
Francistan
😹
I agree completely with the lady.
imagine having the time and resources for this BS.
"I do no think that children are strictly the responsibility their parents'.... Just felt dirty listening to that, I need a wash..... I think the guest in london, De La Ferriere, was right to note the Jacobinistic nature of all of this.... It's sad. It's beyond absurd.
That's their goal re educated all children what government wanted, even to demonize their own parents.
Not going to be suprise if they wanted to introduce rainbow ideology after this

@@muslimresponse103no, just French. It's not really an Anglo Saxon way of thinking.
@@saiyedakhtar3931 true, the fascist french are very extreme on these issues, but I have heard some in the UK and USA also say similar things and have now began to force school children learn about lgbtxzs and their parents cannot opt out of these lessons and much worse is happening in places like Scotland and Canada.
The school boards are elected by the local community, and curriculum issues are voted on.
The French republican secular dogmatism and intolerance at work, stop harassing Muslim girls, and focus on reall problems instead. Vive la liberté et la diversité .

Banning clothes in the name of equality. Comrade Mao would be proud! In the end you will have 3 types of clothes in 3 colors. Courtesy of the french government and his sacred moral principles.

The world going backward..
French the still doing same things in Africa
The Biggest mistakes of all time - France never adopted the tradition of SCHOOL UNIFORMS from the beginning of schooling era. It is real time The French people, The French parents take the toll to ask the government to adopt school uniforms for government and private schools in France from Primary to secondary schools and college. Then the Islam religious students and parents will have to understand that no fashion wear is worn in schools - UNIFORMS must be worn. Like this it will solve the problem. If the Islamic parents don't like it, they should LEAVE France - The airports are open 24/7.
It's their country so they can make rules as they like, however, students should have the right to wear religious attire as long as it does not outrightly proselytize.
yeah, some chick way back at my highschool wore a Star-David necklace...it caught my eye one day, interesting, first one I'd seen worn..nice gal. but,as a religious symbol, it is easier hidden, barelky noticeable at close-quarters, , than some broad dressed to resemble a mail-box or wearing a potato-sack or 12th century nun's habit..
@@tahaAFK I believe what french are doing to justify the ban is the same as Iran and Taliban. Technically it's their country so they can do whatever they want, but it shouldn't be state business what a girl or boy should wear
They have this right. It's not proselytism if you hide it under non religious clothes. For example, you have the right to wear a cross under your t shirt. If it shows, it is outrightly proselytizing.

Of course, not a single Muslim woman voice in the debate. Legacy of colonial thinking: to talk past someone, rather than to talk with them.
