dude I have watched multiple videos on percentage but all they talk about is how to solve something like the first question you did while I was trying to find out how to solve something like the second question. Ty so much man
Thanks Kevin, I learn a lot from your vlog that makes my co-worker and kids think I'm the best IT consult in the world when it comes to spreadsheet solutions and some IT problems.
You’ve been a major help, man!! Although, my excel is not matching my reports on paper that I’ve put together with an adding machine. What am I doing wrong with my formulas?
Say there’s an item listed on the sheet, which has several sub categories listed and you need to find the percentage using a constant rate producing a total of the amount needed to stay above the percentage rate and every entry is automatically calculated once the worksheet is updated. With every entry.
Great quick vid! Could you leave/paste as pic the formulas underneath the calculation to reinforce and allow us to see the differences and how you did them? They of course go away unless you high light the cells. Thanks again and Stay Safe!
Hi, would there be a way to calculate the percentage that a value appears in a column? For example, column A has 10 cells labelled Yes, and 40 boxes labelled No. Is there a function that can determine that there's a 20% appearance rate for Yes? Thanks in advance
Thank you Sir It helps me a lot, question: I am computing the percentage of increase of sales of particular product, but I don't the previous sales so only the current actual sales, how am I going to used formula to come up with the correct percent increase? Example: Previouse sales = 0, actual sales 1,050, what formula is the right for this data?
Even after watching this I still don't understand in any way how to calculate percentages, I have a college assignment on this and I've been stuck on this for hours
For anyone who needs to know the % of the empty seats in the first question. =(A2-A1)/A2 I owed 21k on my house and wanted to know the percentage I've paid off. The value was 168k. So 168k-20k= ÷168k, hope this can help someone!
Hi Kevin! Need Help... I want to make a table with formulas for rental prices by the number of months . So the price is $1,000 by month in a 12 months contract. And $1,000 + 50% for one month only. ¿what formulas do i need for each month? thank you in advance!
I am in way over my head here. I want to get other pages to recognize. the name of trading cards and add the card cost to the 1st page, in the card cost row. Not having any luck at all
I just realized that Excel won't interpret `=100-1%` like a normal calculator do. Apparently there is no shorthand way too. I meant to compute the difference after a 1% discount (basically 100*99% or 99). 99.99 is returned on face value (1% is 1/100), but it is showed as 9999.00% due to the automatic number formatting. It is confusing as hell when I first saw it. Hope Excel could be smarter than that in future versions.
Kevin, Your other vids were more helpful than this one. This was confusing for a beginner. I simply want to figure out how to take percentages from a total cost of a line item and then have it reconcile an overall total at the end. Everyone's videos get sidetracked.
How's 74*10,000 equals 7,400.... Is it only me seeing this❓❓👀 I mean 7,400 is cool for 74% absolutely correct 💯... But how did he came at that he showed wrong step 74*10,000 equal 740,000.

How would I calculate a percentage of a percentage in excel? For example 80% of 5%.

Stupid question on basic math, but I thought you needed to multiple by 100 to get the percentage.

If I understand your question, you will need two computations. But the logic is the same as demonstrated.

Me here cuz I didn't pay attention in online class

It's not 74*10,000, but 74%*10,100. The % changes the result.
