Honestly my biggest motivation in doing this quest was an easy source of daedra hearts (the daedra respawn about every two days). Hey, I need to smith daedra stuff for wall decorations!
I'm more concerned about how the couriers keep finding the Dragonborn. You travel all over Skyrim at a pretty fast pace never really settling down or having a permanent home address (you can own houses but how much time do you really spend there?) but these guys manage to find your exact location every time. It's a bit unnerving. They'd make great Dark Brotherhood assassins.
I think its interesting to point out that this "Paradise" the mythic dawn promised involved their loyal followers getting eaten alive over and over for all eternity.
It reminds me of a cautionary tale about the devil I heard as a kid. A man sees the devil at the end of his bed and the devil says he will give him one wish in trade for his soul. The man says "I want to live forever". And the devil says "Deal" The man goes back to sleep and thinks if was a dream. The next day he accidentally burns himself making breakfast, he feels pain but when he checks the mark the pain and the blister dissappear. He take a knife and cautiously cuts himself, again there is pain and he draws blood. But the wound he makes and the pain dissappear and he is fine again. He is amazed and run out onto the motorway with his head raised to the sky and his arms open and gets smacked by a huge truck. He wakes up inside a coffin and begins banging on it panicking. The devil appears at the end of the coffin like at the end of the bed The man says "hey you said I would live forever" And the Devil laughs and says "yes but I didn't say where you would live"
If you open the display case containing the last page of the Mysterium Xarxes and hit it with either a melee attack or an offensive spell, it turns into a bucket. Explain the lore behind that one.
"Your hands only" *Hands you invitation* You know, I just realized that owner might not have the best business strategy in mind, if he only invites specific people.
The real question is how do all the couriers know me without asking my name like I could wear a different mask over my face everyday and no one should know who I am but everyone does somehow.
Perhaps there’s a metaphysical property of all couriers in the multiverse. Perhaps Courier 6 from Fallout NV is an example of what happens when you piss one off
I always found it funny that things like the razor or the Emperor are in Skyrim exactly when you need them. Like when you assassinate the Emperor, he happens to be in Skyrim or when you put the razor back together the pieces happen to be in Skyrim.
This actually is explained. Forces like the Daedra and their artifacts just appear and disappear in history when needed. They seem to have some control over it.I wouldn't be surprised if Dagon let the dagger be disassembled on purpose. It's probably modelled after the One Ring, which holds similar powers.
If you dual wield Mehrunes' Razor with another weapon, then constantly swing the Razor, you have a great chance of finishing the fight early. The more swings, the more likely the enchantment will activate, so it's a great weapon for Legendary difficulty.
What lore? They scratched the surface of the lore concerning the Mythic Dawn. Could've told us about how Mankar Camoran was most likely a Dragonborn, how he was so powerful that he could wear the Amulet of Kings although not being a Septim, simply through manipulating it with magic. How he built his own paradise, or how he changed his own race. Instead we get gameplay from a quest that's been out for 6 years and basically everybody with the slightest dedication to Skyrim has done already.
I love learning about different lore! Please make several more videos like this, they're my favorite type of videos, and I personally love learning details I haven't previously known. Keep being awesome :3
What got me about the mythic dawn commentaries quest in oblivion is, that no one stood in front of that crypt at noon? Like... ever? Or if they did, they never said anything? Lol
Okay Fudgemuppet, this style of video is GREAT! The whole "let's go to Dawnstar" thing... the whole aspect of having live gameplay to follow as we go to the museum... very professional! Keep that up!
This is a lot like Oxhorn's videos, but I don't think that is a bad thing. Honestly, I think his way of storytelling in a lore heavy game works really well, and if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Well done, FudgeMuppet. I think you guys did well.
This is incredible! Weird that I don't remember it like this, though. I remember having to go to three separate locations to get the pieces and having to kill a bunch of bandits and some forsworn. Afterwards, I remember not even having the choice to spare Silus, he went full on offensive. Maybe it's because I'm playing a really old build, or I just remember it wrong.
The most interesting facet of this quest, IMO, is the provenance of that page of the Mysterium Xarxes. Consider: 1) The Xarxes probably would have been kept at Cloud Ruler Temple. 2) Those charcoaled edges don't look two hundred years old to me. 3) If you've never gone to Bloated Man's Grotto before ever setting foot in Falkreath, do it. Do it now. Because I think we might be looking at the ultimate strange-bedfellows scenario here.
Decided it was about time at level 65. Made my heart cry for oblivion ‘I know that sign… I know those books… I probably killed your ancestor!!’ - absolute tears
A great change from the usual builds an discussions, the deep detail you put into every aspect of the quest makes it enjoyable to watch even when many of your viewers have done the quest themselves dozens of times over, would definitely love to see more quest videos like this 👌🌞
This is a great new video format, I like how you go through the quest, but may I suggest showing all possible outcomes of the quests, as many of us have played skyrim and done these quests so it would be cool to see the other endings
You know that guy with the nazi flag up in his room who says he's just a "history buff?" Yeah, that guy... Either way you go, completing the quest gives you a quickly refilling source for daedra hearts though.
As I was dreaming I heard the notification noise. I slowly got up and looked for my phone halve a sleep halve awake as the only thing keeping me from going back to sleep was the thought of a new fudgemuppet video.
I like the way this dude made thus tutorial! Good job with the story and bit of facts while on the actual walk-through it is never boribg to watch this 20 mins video unlike others I have to skip great job
After looking into the vampires of Morthal for the first time, every time I go back there it looks like random people’s eyes are glowing red until I get close to them to investigate.
I don't know why but this was so tranquil and calm the thing I love most but is there's hardly any big Aussie channels I mean no doubt you guys are gonna get big but if I had to show an example of a good Aussie channel this would be it just remember to get proof that your an Aussie channel when you sign up for your play buttons they probably won't believe it if they have the option for it haha
This was similar to camels detective series , and i LOVE IT both his detective series and this need to continue it gives great lore and some depth to quests and areas of the worlds in the elder scrolls that i just love to hear about and see how other interpret it
200 years past, 8 generations, 25 years is 1 generation. Is that an average life span?(25-30 years)[of course some can barely survive a few times, learn from mistakes, elf's live to be 400 years old, right??]
I got the scabbard out of the case by summoning a frost atronach, pissing it off, and waiting till its attacks forced the scabbard out of the case lol.
Say, if when Sylus fights you he won, well I know it would be game over. But for him would Dagon repair the razor or just summon the two Dremora to kill him? He would have just beaten the one Dagon had planned to make his champion and needed to fight for it.
Your lores actually is the best for night stories!!! I always click this before sleep. One stories per night... If you don't mind, quick question from a fan... Do you use still original or special edition to make these videos?? I kinda new to RPG games and perhaps, i rushing to buy the original (those mods are irresistible) before it's completely remove from steam. Best regards...
"I've been looking for you, got something I'm supposed to deliver. Your hands, only! Let's see here... a flyer, full of McDonalds coupons. Well, got to go."
Dragonborn: You won't miss it. Jorgen: Are you crazy? I'm not undoing 8 generations of effort just to keep the blade away from this cult. Dragonborn: (Offers 601 Septims) Jorgen: Alright, lol.
I actualy tried saving poor Silas but the idiot ran right into the Daedras over and over....and over again to the point i just said....''you know what....i tried being the good guy here but it looks like you just want to die'....
Want more??? Let us know in the comments and you will certainly get more! Thanks for watching our video, it means so much :D
FudgeMuppet wait do u have a build of the armor and the magic u were using
the mythic Don is in oblivion
WE WANT MORE
I agree this is something I might watch more of

Jacob Saffold that's why I just stole all of his stuff and left. Those robes look cool on me
im pretty sure the mythic dawn isnt very liked in skyrim so no one would go.
having the Marhune's Razor at level 20 can be cool ;)
Lord Dagon is no trickster... He rewarded you with daedra hearts! (Disassembly required)

He’s very generous, indeed.
@@troodon1096 that was my 1st reason, the 2nd for me is that badass cult mantle
Imagine keeping a shard of a dagger safe for generations only to give it up for 600 gold.
Jose Pascacio
Excuse me, 601 gold ;)
CGCGCG91 that extra piece of gold really sold the deal
I paid like 300-400 gold for it couple of days ago.
I straight up murdered him for it...every time.
Next2Death you must be fun at parties
"Your hands only" the courier says... yet somehow it is meant to be handed to everyone?

what could *possibly* go wrong.
I think its interesting to point out that this "Paradise" the mythic dawn promised involved their loyal followers getting eaten alive over and over for all eternity.
They didn't go to the Deadlands in the after life. Mankar was allowed to make his own pocket in Oblivion.
Iirc they were tortured in order to strengthen them so that they would be worthy to rule in Dagon’s new Tamriel
@@pelinalwhitestrake4196 I admire you, champion of man! 😍

Connor Tyler it's just an Easter egg
my guess its not a real page, and silus just enchanted a bucket to look like it, as the real one was most likely destroyed
Brandon Withnell oh shit. This can be confirmed if they coded it that way. By checking the museum after killing Silous for Dagon.
I’m guessing the bucket is a placeholder for something that ended up not being implemented
It just works
"Your hands only"
*Hands you invitation*

Ethan T. The emperor came to skyrim because you killed Bictoria Vicci his niece
I would think hiring assassins in Skyrim while the Emperor is in Elswyre would be counterproductive.
yeah it doesn't seem smart to hide all the pieces in the same country.
ViperVenom811 true!

I am glad to have played Skyrim, currently playing Oblivion to see the events of the Dagon invasion
I'm sick of playing Skyrim... 300 hours... I just can't take it anymore. But you guys always make me want to play it all over again!

300+? Those are rookie numbers.
Leonardo Estrela
300 hours? That’s child’s play.
Only played skyrim once and i topped that by 20 hours
Y'all can keep this series going on forever!!!
You expect the descendents of the people who would protect fragments would pool their resources in order to prevent something like this.
But what happens if you trash talk Dagon, "I will use the Razor as I see fit, Dagon"
this lore is the reason the elder scrolls are so freaking amazing!!

Jesus Christ the Mehrunes Dagon voice actor is god-like
can you do a build on a meridia worshiper please?
doing oxhorn type videos for skyrim
Exactly what I thought, did not even see the video yet but the title screams "OXHORN"
CharliCharmant you are very right
Chris Kopsch its like a mix of oxhorn and camelworks, i love it so much
Chris Kopsch and Oxhorn copied Shoddycast by that logic. Yes it is similar but still different in its own way.

I actually just finished this quest. My guy is generally good, and opted not to kill him. Dagon's lackeys did and I got a small inheritance.
Just finished this quest. All that work and Mehrunes Dagon still has one final test. Damn you hippie Dagon I'll use your razor the way I want.
