Spot on Vinnie. The new building will not stand the test of time. It reminds me of the EU, ugliness in so many ways, under the guise of modern and future proof.

Totally agree with you. We pass this eyesore of a building every year on our way to walk up to Arthur's seat after walking down the historic Royal mile. What were they thinking???? Edinburgh is such a beautiful city. Another excellent video👍🏻

Aye its an eyesore. We wanted a neo classical frontage with emblems of scots baronial style and what did we get ! A neo marxist mess made of shitcrete and bamboo for half a billion quid.

Pan to the left and you have Salisbury Crags & Holyrood Park.
It's not the location that's the problem for me, but the building itself.

As much as I feel similarly about the aesthetic of Holyrood, I'm actually glad that we did not spend a lot of money making sure that a building looks "nice and traditional". The contents inside is more important.

I thought the exact same when I seen Holyrood for the first time in person last year...wow it's absolutely horrific. Aye I'd seen photos of it (if you get a Birdseye view image it's even worse) but to see it in person, horrid

I massively prefer the old building but you don't need to accuse people of being insincere or having weird intentions just because it's ugly.

I cant stand the new one. The old one, which is the High Court now up on the Royal mile is a much loved part of the city.
    The new one, 🤮
And the bamboo bars over the windows make it looks like a prison to contain the Scots. They never should have built it. I blame mel gibson myself lol 😂. Nah, just joking. I like Mel. Stand up guy. Tells it straight.
I just finished a pointing job on the holyrood palace boundary wall a month ago as well.
During the Pandemic there was mobs of us on the banks of the crags baying discontent at the Scourgeon. It almost went off a few times. There was electricity in the air. A similar feeling to what is in the air tonight.
