I'm glad to see they have endured so long. Love Gun was the last KISS album I bought. For many years after that I thought of them as a joke. But these guys in the early years are a big part of my memory of rock and roll in the 70s
It's been said in interviews that the Beatles had hallways filled with < 18-year-old girls waiting their turn for a piece of Paul, John, George, or Ringo, lol...
Awesome, thank you for sharing. I was at a bar with a girl named Christine back in 1995 and she was talking to Ace Frehley. He asked her name and then when she told him he started singing this song to her and then he fell out of his chair lol
KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS . You know, once I left my KISS tshirt over @ my beautygirl's house. I came over the next day. "Where's my KISS shirt?" "You can't have it. It was obviously a perfect trophy of our love, whether you know it or not- THAT's how POWERFUL KISS is!!"
Been a KISS fan since day 1....Kiss has never been about spectacular intricate artistic musicianship, it's never been about deep meaningful spiritual lyrics, it's never been about sheer talent (or lack of talent)...Gene & Paul readily admit all of this. Kiss is about a feeling, an attitude, a sound, a movement, a spectacle...entertainment. This is why music critics hated KISS from their inception -- And they hated KISS fans even more for not listening to them when they would write KISS SUCKS in magazine after magazine, article after article, over & over again...Which only mad the KISS Army grow larger & more loyal. Listen to Paul's speech at The RRHF ceremony -- KISS is/was/always will be a fan's band, not a critic's band, not an artist's band, not a musician's band. KISS has finally gotten love, recognition, & respect from their critics -- not for their music or lyrics or talent, but strictly for their utter longevity, their influence, & what they represent as the epitome of rock & roll showmanship.
I have seen these guys perform three times and probably the best band live out of all the concerts I have been too. The vocals are not perfect but they relate to the fans very well and put on a helluva show.
"they relate to the fans very well and put on a helluva show"... That's what we need in bands today... some bands perform really really lame.. total shit.. they can sound spectacular, musically speaking.. but what about the attitude man? That's what really make the fans to become not only loyal fans, but die-hard fans! And Kiss achieved that really well! A Capistalism band, after all... they really thought hard in how to make the fans enjoy their concerts and music and everything else from them! Anyways... they're a great rock n' roll band, one of the greats!
Everything you said is correct. Music critics did not like them because it was and still is not about the music. I is about the the look. I like Kiss and have been a fan since the mid 1970s but musically not great but...nobody is forced to like them you are here because you like Kiss music is secondary with this group.
Yeah, of course, a 60 yo man can only fantasy about a 60 yo woman! Sure, your world is so politically correct, and you must be so gay-sweety alike... Every man love younger girls thats a fact, since the dawn of time. Only our sjw's poor world try to change that...
@@krisskriss1223 “A 60 yo man can only fantasy about a 60 yo woman” No one fucking said that. You’re making a dumbass strawman that doesn’t make sense at all. When KISS first recorded this song, it was already inappropriate for four grown men to be singing about wanting a sixteen year old girl. To still be doing that song today is just creepy.
Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer should have come up with they're own makeup designs like Eric Carr and Vinny Vincent did. There's only one Ace Frehley and Peter Criss.
Chris Hopple Even so, those two (or at least Tommy) had to take over in the middle of the reunion tour when Ace left. He was a hired hand and was told to either finish the tour as Spaceman or walk. I’m sure if Eric and Tommy had a choice, they would definitely change it up, but the puppet masters need to have their fierce grip.
Agreed. Normally I don't like to bash on KISS because they were one of the first bands that made me want to play music, but they just look like they're going through the motions, even Paul isn't projecting and dancing in his normal way. They look a bit...awkward.
this is a song I always avoided because it reminds me of my step-mom who used the KISS acronym (Knights In Satan's Service) a lot around me. Anything I liked, she hated, which only made me like it more!
