S2:E10 "Must See" Cities on the French Riviera: Cruising to Marseille & Cannes

In the 10th episode of our 2023 European Cruise we make two more stops in France, this time on the Mediterranean. First we dock in Marseille where we grab rental cars and travel inland to the ancient city of Aix en Provence. The home of artist, Paul Cezanne. We explore old churches and street markets as we enjoy the architecture of this beautiful city. Then we drive south to the seaside town of Cassis, a hidden jewel on the French Riviera. A city overlooked by a historic castle. We walk along the boardwalk past shops & restaurants situated along the edge of the marina. Then, as we check off our list of "must-see" sites in France, we sail on the Norwegian Dawn to the port of Cannes. A short tender ride takes us into town where we once again acquire rental cars for the drive to the mountaintop city of Eze. This medieval village overlooking the Mediterranean Sea has beautiful cobblestone streets and buildings. It is said that Walt Disney spent much time here, perhaps drawing inspiration from the buildings and artwork. We traverse the narrow walkways to the top of the hill where a cactus garden sits 1400 feet above the sea. We are treated to fantastic views of the Cote d'Azur as we meander through the amazing examples of desert flora.
