In this episode I'm in China and I embark on a solo journey to a luxurious abandoned resort. It was not originally on my schedule, but I was surprised how this resort with many leisure facilities, including a vintage arcade room, was frozen in time.

I cannot believe that there are places like this. So much waste, so much time, effort and money went into building this resort. It’s stunning, and I love that it is untouched by vandals.
Look at the countries that hosted Olympic games. The amount of waste dwarfs this one by several times. Entire stadiums and airports abandoned after the games are finished. And they just let them sit and rot. Ironically, the only country I know of that is doing SOMETHING is Greece. They're trying to restore parts of their long abandoned airport to turn it into a community centre. Evidence points to tight security, fencing going up and tons of construction material/equipment stored in the lobby.
Thanks! Towards more exciting explorations.👍
What a waste. Such a lot of beautifull things going to waste. There are people who would benefit from those furnishings, ornaments etc. Thank you for sharing Bob. Take care 🙂👍💖💖💖
22:22 is a golf simulator. There should have been a projector and pressure sensitive pad behind the screen.
I really love seeing stuff from Shanghai, I used to live there from 2008 to 2012.. All this really takes me back.
我小时候曾经在结尾的那栋别墅住过两天,问过我爸爸,他说大概是7000人民币一天,感谢你带我回到过去🎉

Yay ! Bob's back. We've missed you.
stop stop, back!!, come back again!!
1.thanks to RUclips for recommending your channel
he is the best!! I am convinced of this again and again.
2. Thanks Bob
3. Thanks to your team, well done.
4. The content is super!! I really liked it.
If that place really closed in 2013 then it makes sense. The facilities were so outdated even for 2013. Every game machine in the arcade was from the mid 90's. The bowling alley used old crt PC monitors for scoring. Most of the rooms still had CRT TVs. Even cheap hotels would have had LCD tvs by 2013.
Many hotels in Japan still have CRT TVs.
@petershen6924 interesting. None of the hotels I've been to in Japan do. Space is such a concern there all of the hotels I've stayed at had lcds mounted on the wall.
@@MitsurugiW away from major metropolitans.
@@petershen6924 I could see that. But a major resort like this was supposed to be?
@@MitsurugiWthat is why I totally agree with you that place was outdated even when it was closed.
Very cool,Bob! Finally finding time to catch up on your channel! I hope you are doing well💕💜 oh yeah I also love air hockey! I used to play at a friends house when I was a young girl
The lack of vandalism is absolutely beautiful I hope it doesn’t get trashed
Hopefully yes! But you don’t often see it in China luckily😁
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath it’s refreshing to be bluntly honest.
What Urbexers (respectful) do capturing history in its last state is an art and I truly respect that it’s something we can watch years after the buildings gone and still appreciate the history.
But vandals it feels like the one brain cell got lonely and bounced around and vandalizing was its choice of entertainment.
(low key have been researching what are the best lenses to using in urbexing lol)
Fascinerend om te zien hoe goed het bewaard is gebleven
Was het in Nederland geweest dan hadden er zwervers of hangjongeren alles vernield.
It was a great place. However, I can see why the place was closed:
- if your target customer is on the high end, this was not even up-to-date even by the 2013 standard.
- On low end, or even by middle-class standard, it was just too expensive.
- Updating that place to a high-end standard would have cost a lot, while operating cost was still high.
- Location-wise, it was really not a good place for high-end resorts. The view was not really that great even before being abandoned.
Given the factors above, if I were to operate that place, I would make it an affordable place for companies to give their employees a downtime. The demand is huge in Shanghai as well.
exactly!! great offer
Weird how all that stuff is just going to waste there. Makes it somewhat easier to tolerate seeing abandoned places get stripped so rigorously sometimes. But only somewhat, how incredible to step back through time like that!
Hello Bob how are you doing? It's been a while thanks for the great video.
Goeie locatie hoor, echt onvoorstelbaar allemaal. ❤
Good to see the best is back
Just got back from sailing the world and have to catch up on some video's. China continues to amaze! Even though you where on a time constraint deu to the bullet train, you managed to show a lot of interesting places here. You can see it is all dust and natural decay, a hidden URBEX gem! See you in the next one!
Welcome back and amazing !!! Came across any interesting abandoned places?! In which continents did you sail?
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath yeah I went to Nagasaki and took the ferry to Hashima Island 😄
We started the trip with a heavy workup programme to prepare for our mission in the Red Sea. We had some r&r after that in Ghania, Crete. There are some old and presumably abandoned buildings trouhghout the city. After the mission in the Red Sea, we went to Mumbai, India, but I flew to Paris on that visit. I flee back to Singapore, then Jakarta, where in the old Batavia town I got a tour from an architect in some abandoned buildings wich will be restored. Then we went to Hai Phong, I went to the Long Ba Islands over there. After that we went to Busan, South Korea. Then on to Japan, where I visited battleship island. We participated in Rimpac and went to Pearl Harbour. A great trip with a lot of imptessions 😄✌🏻 I got video's up on my channel if you're interested 💪🏻
You are the best explorer in the world my friend ... Go !!!
It would be really cool to see those vintage nightclub lights in action 21:00
This is my absolute favorite channel.
Tof avontuur Bob! Groeten van je explorer maat van het eerste uur 😅
Trein workshop en vliegdekschip zijn leuke afleveringen! Groetjes uit de Alpen en we moeten eens afspreken😊😊😊
9:20 - Deutsche Mark and French Franc, that surely is old! 😊
I actually enjoyed this explore all by yourself, the live narration felt much more focused. And its quieter too. 😅
really cool exploration, thank you!
Merci Bob pour ces magnifiques images et ce lieu parfaitement improbable!
The villa is insane, wow
Thanks Bob. I loved this ❤ I loved the Arnie impression, "Get to the chopper now! " 😂, Great Video 👍🤝👏
If that were in some other country it would have been trashed and graffitied to no end. I would not want to get caught exploring those places, one hell of a challenge to bring these places to video. Amazing how intact they were.
Thank you for exploring what we never get to see. I appreciate you doing that. Luv from the US. Subbed and looking forward to more vids. You rock bro.
Thanks a million! There are a lot of cooler episodes on this channel, like space shuttles, submarines, aircraft carriers, secret bunkers, oil rigs and more😄
Awesome SpeedRun!
He Bob that was a amazing explore, lots too see in there wow, these places close down very fast, very strange, thnx loved watching it.
Kun je nog eens wat schepen of onderzeeboten bezoeken, lijkt mij interessant
Ga mijn best doen! Schepen staan op de planning. En er komt een aflevering met auto's aan :)
Legendary. Best urbex hands down.
Great video! Keep them coming!
damn, I was really hoping to get to see "Basement Bob" throw down some sick moves on the dance floor...or at least a traditional Dutch clog dance :) Maybe next time...thanks for another great explore Bob
I’m gonna need to rewatch your explores in 4k now! Just upgraded tvs this week!
This is amazing!❤
Great explore, Bob!
Great to see you're well Bob! Awesome explore as always, as you said it was a shame you didn't have more time. No doubt there's more hidden treasure 👌⭐️💪
Was weer mooi, bedankt!
it was a golfcourse !
just smash the ball in to the screen in front, the golfcourse is projected on it and see were your ball lands
seen them here in the netherlands too
Who was with you at 7:07 (?). His back reflection was clearly seen. You obviously were not alone. 😊😊😊
That's ok I would still be scared of getting caught.
I have waited patiently😊 so cool thanks.
get to the chopper now! - Great explore!
Great shots as usual, thank you for showing us :)
Mooie explore vind ik top als er nog steeds veel spullen staan👍
welcome back bob... been ages since your last upload 🙂
Not that long lol
Awsome one once again bob 🫡👊🏻
Great video bob👍👌
Great explore, amazing what is just left

Thats so crazy!
..anyway...was weer topbob 😉🙏, groeten oer grunn Erik 👍🏻
I subscribed !!! Great explore!!
Should have found a bowling ball and set up a rack of pins..
So cool ..
I bet there was a service tunnel to the bowling alley
Nice explore, wild that it's still in that state after 10 years. If that was located in North America it would be trashed in 10 days. Enjoyed watching!
So dystopian - all this luxury just abandoned as if humans are gone from face of earth
I'm annoyed that RUclips waited 8 days to tell me about this video, that place is awesome! Nice explore.
Need to return and explore more of this resort that you didn't have time.
Terminator “one of my favourite movies”. Proceeds to give a quote from Predator instead. Haha 😀
It would be nice to live in one of the villas
Vera would have liked exploring that place. Bring Vera back.
Крутой объект!👍 Респект
It's always shocking to me to see so much usable furniture, dishes, linens and booze! This resort looks very Western, something you would see in Las Vegas I don't know what u was expecting?? Bob u need to remember to show us ladies the kitchens it's the heart of a building! See you in Beijing 😅😅😅😅!
If a company goes under bankruptcy in Asia, it is often that they simply close down business and leave it as it is. They don't sell any parts of the property, because for them it is a shame the business had to be closed down. All furniture they left seem very expensive and worth to sell it, but for Asian business people this is just bulk waste. Because they have so much places to build new resorts with lower costs that we might consider as European people, they will not refurbish or reuse the area until the buildings are falling apart.
In fact, none of these things can sell for much money.
There are a lot of similar stocks in the second-hand market in China. After all, China is the factory of the world.
And organizing the sale of these things requires labor costs and operating costs, which must exceed your income.
Wow! Bob you have really exceled yourself with this exploration. Absolutely stunning resort, what a shame the furnishings are left to deteriorate. The owners could distribute the furnishings to needy people or at least auction them of. One of those semi circular sofas would fit nicely in my bay window!🤣
Nice place! Thank you Bob! When you go to a w2 bunker ?
LOL Rad Moblie from Encino Man !!!
I would be coming with a U-Haul truck to haul that terminator and other arcade stuff. ☝🏽
cool.
Hey look at the lens not in your face on the screen.
good evening from Romania
It's just sad it can't be used for something els .
Those may not have been illegal movies as much as original editions like movie rental stores had, where it was a resort they may have had a deal to get new movies
Hello Bob!
Your terminator Quote was from predator lol but nice try was still pretty good
THATS A REAL SHAME
Это неимоверно
❤❤❤ it😊
Thanks for checking out!🤩
I actually got the notification for once
ОГОНЬ!. ОЧЕНЬ ИНТЕРЕСНО
They must be very rich to abandon such valuable property.
Did you get some Shanghai love - what's with the neck marks? 😅
It was built in the 1990s with a total investment of 100 million yuan, covering an area of 89 acres and a business area of 30,000 square meters. Later, due to various reasons, it was closed before 2015.
Nama hotelnya apa
Do you know the name of the hotel, friend, to see what happened to him, please?
CCP mosquitoes! I got a couple hours to kill in a foreign country I go find a beer, Bob explores a huge entertainment complex. I heard you say it was more exciting by yourself, of course I knew you made it out but it was exciting on this end too, you are very good at building the excitement!
Its either limburg oor noord brabant, but i cant be completely sure
Limburg
That Terminator game is worth a lot of money some collector prob give you $5000.00 or more for it
Nanana Sweden NR1 TableTennis :)
I ask, abandoned, but does it have surveillance, yes or no?
Dude, look at the camera lens when you are talking to us, it's weird when you look at the monitor.
is it a thing in china that they dont save any of the fixtures and fittings ? such a shame to see all of that good stuff just going into decay, lovely place :)
It is! But fascinating to see as an urban explorer. I once asked a Japanese theme park/hotel owner why nothing of the terrain got sold. He replied with: “The park has to die a natural death”. They have different visions and culture about abandonments in the world.
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath Yes, i knew it to be true about Japan, did not know it to be true about China too, but very glad you can go to these places and document them for us :) Thankyou
Damm bro u are not scared of paranormal activities
Its kinda scary to visit places u don’t know what might happened
My opinion on this episode: 16:00
Neat channel...but it a shame you dont use 4k footage.
Most people watch on their phone.. 4K means another camera which can handle 4K 120fps , way more storage and way longer editing… I earn not much with this channel, otherwise I would have done the upgrade already😄
I have much cooler episodes than this one by the way 😄
hi
Take the arcade machines
Drives me Mad when you dont talk into the camera
Please upload in 4k
Right before time lapse of 12:26 there is orb right in front of you moving back and forth . That is a spook
7:07 - who is that?
that was his previous explore of the same place
They spent the budget on the games arcade and neglected the gym.
