Honestly I do kinda get what buzzfeed news was going for, but their lack of fact checking (which led to their downfall) did kinda negate any good. I overall feel like it’s a good thing that it’s shut down. There’s already too many news sites that often have more clickbait than actual news, we don’t need another.
To me, it makes no sense why buzzfeed wanted to be taken seriously with their news in the first place. They should have just called it something else instead. Hard to have credibility when their main site is a clickbait monstrosity.
Yo, what's up everyone? It's your favorite commenter here with another video feedback. Today, I'm going to be reviewing out this video by the talented creator. Let me tell you, this video is absolutely amazing. I'm not even kidding. It's so good that I'm actually starting to feel a little empowered. I mean, how can someone be so talented? Seriously, though, this video is a must-watch. It's informative, entertaining, and just plain good. So what are you waiting for? Go check it out right now!
Really interesting video - it seems digital journalism isn't the future for the industry we all thought it was. I am currently working on a wider video about other struggling news brands and what it means for the industry.
Thank you! It seems the biggest issue with digital journalism is the cost to return ratio. Legitimate, valuable journalism is too expensive and cheap garbage provides often a better return. I’ve subscribed to your channel so I can be notified of your video you are working on. Can’t wait!
@@RaisedMedia I think a fine balance needs to be struck between providing a service that people can trust, people who can afford it are happy to pay a subscription and also those digital ads can fund the general running of the site or find other means. It's a big issue in the journalism industry and it's only going to get worse!
@@JournoMode I agree. The readily available news is a double edged sword. The more available and accessible it is, the less willing people are to pay for it. If people don't pay for it, the quality of news goes down. Interesting to see where we will go from here.
I honestly forgot about Buzzfeed
I think we all did, no wonder they failed
I loved the buzzfeed reference in WreckItRalph2

Yeah, you’re pretty bang on. For every one piece of hard hitting journalism they did produce, they also put out 15 complete garbage ones.

Yeah they probably should have just called it something else…
Loved the video! It really goes to show how competitive the content arena really is, even at the highest levels.
Hey, I was wondering how I could get in contact with you. Do you have an email?
Thank you! Not only is News an incredibly expensive market but it’s also usually unprofitable on its own until you really hit the top.
Sure! You can email raisedvc [at] gmail
