I have a DS708 which is the earlier version and am considering buying this one. Can I use all the old connectors with this machine or do I need to buy new dongles for the MB 38pin and BMW 20pin etc. Thanks
Better using 708 for the older cars without HW or SW update. Or you might regret due to reliability. For new cars - buy a new 808 is a option. No SW can survive for 3 decades since MB SW moves as HHT-> DAS -> XENTRY
Dear Sir, Please check the fuses and OBD wiring of the car, only if they fail the scanner won't be able to communicate with all modules. I have maxidas 708 and my w203 had same airbag problem. I was able to erase fault code in 2 mins. something is wrong with wiring.
I dare to doubt there was no 38-pin plug under the hood of this car... This is exactly what you get on older Benzes that have an 16-pin OBD connector AND a proprietary 38-pin Benz-connector under the hood and you use the OBD-connector only...
I do't know what the problem is with your 808, but mine works excellently on Mercedes. watching your screen, something is wrong with it's connection to the car. It should run down the list, and they should all remain there on screen right down the line after it checks each one. When something disappears immediately after check, it means the 808 did not find that component and by passed it . I work mostly on MB cars, and I have the Mercedes MB Star computer in my shop. I find I use the 808 much more often now that I have it, it is simpler to operate and gives me all the information I need (Usually) The Star will dig deeper into components and is capable of programming, but I seldom need to go that far for most repairs.
Hello! Have you ever tested the 808 on a W212, specifically with the Airmatic system? I'm trying to get a diagnostic tool, and my choices are Star C4 with the Dell lapop or the Autel 808, but I need one which will work perfectly with my W212. I don't really trust the sellers on Ebay( they seem to be the only ones carrying these Star testers). Thank you!
@@pulsiui4003 I did. I bought both the DS808 and the Sds c4. The ds808 is good for actuations, level calibration and all code readings but can't do in depth coding. If you want to replace modules on the your Mercedes you need the SDS system. But the DS808 is more then capable and I was able to diagnose other vehicles with it. On some makes it's not as in depth as I would like but it still does everything short of module programming (software updates and major coding settings).
Turn off the engine. Turn the key to ignition (one step before starting the engine) but don’t start the engine then use the device again and it should work.
Maybe you need to try the MB Star C4 system. I think the dealers us those. I almost bought one cause my w210 was always on the friz. but i got rid of it
Does your mercedes have a round multipin plug under the hood in the fuse box? If so, then you are required to use that plug for advanced diagnostics. I once worked on 2001 E320 and while it should be OBD2 compliant, I could not get advanced diagnostic data out of the OBD2 port. Then I discovered the round plug and used my MD802 with MB specific adapter from DS708 kit. It gave me full set of diagnostic information on all the cars modules.
Mercedes stopped using those 38 pin connectors around that time or shortly after. You were working on a W210 chassis which I believe got rid of them in 03 with the W211. He was working on a W203 which would not have a 38 pin under the hood. It is a good point though. I am a former Mercedes Benz tech and only use a DAS machine on all of my Mercedes customer's vehicles. The only aftermarket tool that comes close is the Autologic tool which is a about 12-13K.
thanks for clarification. I get sporadic MB to work on, and never worked on a C class, so not as familiar with the chassis. OP hooked up another scanner later, which was able to communicate to the car via obd2 plug, so it also confirms that the problem is in the DS808. Which scanner do you use? DS708?
oh shit that is not good i know resetting SRS on w210's requires very specific tools, it is possible that even very expensive scanners like yours cannot do this on something even newer
Chen Aaron I have the al519 and the box tells me it can work with all cars and some Suzuki and Toyota cars it won't work with. I had high hopes from autel but it let me down

i dont see the update video did you ever update it ? do you use it ? what happened ?

@@aleigoo But the question is, will the DS708 connectors work on the DS808. Thanks
How well does it work with the 38 pin adapter?

Thanks for tip...I will check fuses....
+Diesel Mercedes but you have the same problem with A/C unit I think isnot fuses problem
bonjour, merci pour ces vidéo. peut on faire l'apprentissage de la vanne egr sur un evoque 2.2 de 2014 avec un ds808? merci pour votre aide
I like it a lot this device .I will buy this device
Hi mate, quick Q - does it require annual subscription? if Y - How much? thanks. Alex

BMW too, if there's a 20 pin under the hood. On those cars the OBDII connector is for emissions tests only.
203 don't have proprietary plug, 210 does

This man works on Toyota vehicles. He is just being mischievous.
Did you register and update the unit? Most systems will not work with the unit out the box.
registered, updated, same results....
Can i use it without wifi?

I just reset the SRS light on a 2006 Mercedes ML350 with no problem using my DS808. I have the latest updates. It got the vin automatically.
HELLO DEAR. WILL YOUR DS808 PROGRAM AUQ7 ECU, AND DO CODING FOR BENZ CLK500(W209) ABS? pLEASE FIND OUT IN YOUR APPS
Did you find a scanner to read airbag codes for this car?
Snap-On Modis Ultra
@@dieselmercedes7507 So it's a issue of scanner itself only that SRS can't be read?
a month later, did you ever get this issue fixed on the DS808?
Returned.....
Diesel Mercedes did you find a tool to read airbag code for this car?
Diesel Mercedes you needed to update the scanner
Mate if your airbag module have no power no diagnose can connect to it...
to what level this maxidas can stand. can it program German cars bmw and specially "Mercedes" ?
thank you
No, the 808 will not program, for that you need to step up to the 908. More money, but nowhere near what SnapOn or Mercedes Benz wants for theirs.
Try to click on "up to 09-2003 ,you might have older software in the car.
thank you, I have tried all that, no luck.....

so far hundred times !
Most likely a dead Airbag Computer
Computer had 2 codes, scanned by Snap-on scanner.....it was dead Autel Maxidas.....
Looking to buy one of these for my shop soon. Comparing between this one and Foxwell G80 mini now. Seems like this is not a good machine haha
from some reason, this one didn't work well...it didn't even want to communicate with 1997 Toyota 4Runner....
