It is more likely that Disney is being transphobic. But having the trans episode be about trans is sports is a problem in itself. Plus she’s the team captain, and I haven’t seen the episode but I’m guessing she’s the best player. This is such a complicated issue that causes arguments between people who are allies to the trans community. The answers of how and when trans people should play in their desired gender split teams isn’t obvious. Which raises question the fairness of it in women’s sports. If there is a biological advantage for a small percentage of trans women, should they play with cis gendered women especially when scholarships and money is on the line? Does this episode answer or address that question, or just use bigotry to make it an obvious right and wrong side?
@@Bigbruhmoment541 that is true but even those women’s testosterone levels don’t reach male levels. So while cis women with a high test count have an advantage, it’s not as large as a biological male with low test count if they are both trained athletes. At the higher levels of sports, the lesser male athletes out performing the females. And there are some outliers, but most cis women could train for their entire lives and not reach those levels. And if we let them into those spaces, it’s just pushing out women who would’ve made it otherwise. You can’t compete with people who are well above you.
@@Bigbruhmoment541Except that those women are nowhere near the level of testosterones of males , and still had a mostly normal physical development for women , a trans woman has the bones and muscles of a man for growing up male, This is not fair to cisgender women they cannot compete.
@@oraclesight8613 you forgot that estrogen levels heavily impact the bone mass in trans women who are on hormones esp two to three years on hormones it makes their bone mass and strength heavily weaker especially on a high intake. You can look it up on google many articles say this claim but you also forgot that unfair advantages are very common in sports I mean look at bolt for example or micheal Jordan or really a ton of basketball players in gen they have the genetic pool on their side but ooh noo a woman who can out compete a male she must be cheating or a man in disguise. Bs. 😱😱🙄 not to be that guy but if your daughter loses in sports maybe she just sucks at sports. I'm sorry but its true hon.
Trying to stay pg here, but Brooklyn has a slender, feminine body type and a high voice. It's impossible to tell she's trans without her mentioning it first. It can probably be assumed she's been on hormones ever since she started puberty, so she shouldn't physically have an abnormal advantage over the cis girls. Now whether teenagers should be on HRT is another issue entirely that I'm not gonna touch on. For that I'll just say it's a fictional universe with an idealized take on LGBT experiences. Also, while she is the captain, it's never actually said that she's the strongest player. She's just the most extroverted and a natural ringleader even when they're not doing sports, and the other 3 follow behind her.
@@jmolymol9 the issue of male athletes outperforming women athletes is a lot more complicated than that. The human form is more alike and more diverse than we give it credit for, and as far as physical fitness goes, genetics and hormones only contribute so much. If you take a man and woman of the same physique and give them the same training regimen with the same materials for the same amount of time, they're going to perform about the same. But because women's sports are treated as "lesser" or "inferior", they get significantly less funding than their male peers. Less funding means worse coaches, worse uniforms, worse equipment, worse facilities, and that all stacks up and they ultimately perform worse. Fulfilling the idea that women are worse at athletics than men overall. This poor performance is then used as an excuse to continue under-funding women's sports, and the cycle repeats. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, and our current system gives schools and sports associations no reason or incentive to change things.
I can see why it wasn't aired seeing how anti trans laws have been made against trans women in sports and stuff. So, maybe it's safer that way until things change. I have no problem with this episode, I've seen a bit of this show when it came out. While I do appreciate representation, I feel like other then The Owl House and Moon Girl, Disney hasn't been doing a good job with it. I feel like it's forced most of the time, so it's nice to see this despite the episode not being aired. But I also acknowledge that Disney only does it for the money, and I would rather them do a better job at representing us like this.
@ramdelure What? I don't know where the flags came in at, I was talking about Moon Girl and Disney as a whole when it comes to LGBT representation. Again, I do feel like most of the time it's forced, but I don't know what that has to do with flags. I don't even care about the flags anymore. I couldn't care less about them. Same with the QIA+ and whatever else. It's not affecting me. As long as it's not being forced, then I really don't care. I am referring to LGBT flags since I am going to assume that's what you were talking about. If people want to use flags, then they can, it doesn't concern me. Also, you can be LGBT and not associate yourself with the community or flags. Speaking of someone doesn't, but I'm not bothered by those who do.
@@CommonNeon The LGBT flags I referred are really necessary for that? Feels forced in Japan, LGBT characters are traited like normal people without to need to use those flags
Whoever they are, I thank them for leaking this episode for anyone to see and download. 👏🙏👏 Watching the episode, its both a surprise and refreshing to see an animated show overtly talk about a serious topic, especially queer topics. I know that a lot of previous cartoon shows had to be subtle for the censors, but its great to see this show (and the Owl House with that coming out episode) just say it directly.
Even ignoring Real World issues, within the context of the episode, Coach Greer was right in her objections, as Brooklyn, the only biological male on the team, was repeatedly shown to be far more athletically capable than the biological girls by leaps and bounds, essentially proving that there was an unfair advantage
Trans women don’t have much of an unfair advantage. By your logic, tall women should be excluded because they have some advantages. By your logic, women with slightly longer arms should be excluded. By your logic, everyone with any kind of advantage should be excluded since the only person without any kind of advantage is the person you’re using as a reference.

Thank you for making this video. Honestly, this whole " controversy" has been so tiring. I love Moon Girl, and i love this episode. I love that for once that trans people had (in my opinion) good representation because i see very few good trans characters in media. But seeing people just hate on it says it's propaganda or saying the whole kids' argument has been very upsetting. I understand people have issues with the episode, but i don't understand people who just hateing because and a trans character. This video made me feel less crazy likeing the episode
on one hand disney should be called out for being hypocrites BUT on the other hand the episode itself is bad and the message its trying to covey is debatable to say the least
@ just because it’s “representation” and a “message” doesn’t make the episode good it’s very unsubtle and dialogue feels it’s unnatural. It feels like an AO3 Wattpad fanfiction. They don’t make any actual compelling arguments. They just say if you disagree with this, you’re wrong and have a bad personality instead of actually making good valid points
@ yeah…because that’s how it is in real life. You think the people who are against trans athletes actually care in the slightest about their supposed motives? No. They want to be able to express their own bigotries without consequence.
@ two things 1. This still doesn’t make the episode any less bad even if everything they were saying was true and not over exaggerated the episode is still written horrendously. 2. nobody’s against trans athletes their against trans athletes in opposite gender specific sports. hope this helps.
@ 2 things number 1 your argument about people not really caring about sports to cover up their bigotry even if it was true it still doesn’t really change the original statement they have the same energy as saying a preschool classmate stole your apple in the cafeteria when you were in kindergarten and then 20 years later, they turned out to be a serial rellik even if they didn’t have a good reason to not like them at first it still doesn’t change anything? and again, this doesn’t change my point about the fact that the writing in that episode was absolutely abysmal.
Its funny since these things are happening. Right now on the American west coast there is an anti trans volley ball movement of all things and they make the same exact arguments as Greer. Honestly the episode is needed now more than ever.
@ramdelure There is literally an episode where Marco freaks out over being buried in a suit. There's another episode where one different planet there's a character who was afraid she wasn't like the other dogs in which the camera pans onto Marcos face when this is said. And finally, "ITS NOT CRIMINAL TO BE AN INDIVISUAL" WAS LITERALLY CREATED WHEN MARCO WAS A PRINCESS! And Stars magic, for some unknown reason, immediately put Marco in a princess outfit that episode
I also think of the movie strange world that was surprise dropped and i think was never released out side of the us and even in the us it had limited release because the movie had a gay character and sup plot the cude not be edited out
Disney outright claimed this is a kid's show. Aimed for ages 6-12 so I can completely understand why parents wouldn't want their kids watching this episode. Kids at that age should be playing outside, making friends, complaining about homework and school. Not questioning themselves all cause of a TV show. I usually don't care about the alphabetical crap that goes on online but when that propoganda tries to go into kids' classrooms and children TV programs, I can understand the reluctance. And if it's about representation, make separate adult content for that. Why come after the kids?
@yokoyakamori6589 I'm calling it what it is. Look up the definition. Propaganda is the spread of information, ideas, and or rumors. Queers can exsit all they want so long as they aren't hurting people.
@ShockwaveFPSStudios and I loved that show that dealt with such and issue maturely. However Queer representation is completely different when you push it on little 6 year old. Why are they pushing this on kids so much is why I'm asking.
As I mentioned on the original upload, trans females still have the same skeletal structures as men (having more durable bones), it makes complete sense why the coach would want to bench the player.
I'm not here to discuss trans people in sports, I talk about cartoons. The point of this was to point out Disney's cowardice when it comes to sensitive topics. Please miss me with this
By that logic you would have to ban Michael Phelps (he has a strange genetic mutation that just makes his body better at swimming) and for that matter have to test every female athlete to see if they have the required bone structure. But at that point we're seeing how ridiculous the anti-trans women in sports argument is that we've gone to "muh bones!" Even outside that argument its still stupid as it would be like if for the sake of hypothetical they were all cis, the coach scouted out which player seemed the most fit, athletic, fastest, strongest. As even in teams of cis people shockingly not everyone has the same bone structure, muscle mass, or even healthy diet. at this point you are nit picking to the point that its clear you have an issue with the individual being trans.
@@papercut_reviews To be fair, trans people in sports was the main topic of the cartoon. And half of the video itself was discussing the episode's plot. I didn't think it would be too off topic to consider.

Well this episode isn't the greatest, I like that the team wanted to tackle this topic and give trans a positive view.
"Forced" like those flags, rights?

Watching the episode, its both a surprise and refreshing to see an animated show overtly talk about a serious topic, especially queer topics.

Good to know the theme of the episode flew right the fuck over your head
Trans women don’t have much of an unfair advantage. By your logic, tall women should be excluded because they have some advantages. By your logic, women with slightly longer arms should be excluded. By your logic, everyone with any kind of advantage should be excluded since the only person without any kind of advantage is the person you’re using as a reference.

Thank you for the kind words. Happy holidays!
Yeah I don't blame them for hiding this
Thank you for making this video.
They hate it because it sucks
Thnx for linking the video. If they aren't going to release the episode, is it really pirating?
If buying isn't owning then piracy isn't stealing
Oh it’s a resent drama I thought it was missing on Disney+.
Disney actually did the RIGHT THING!
Diabolical
Disney is based
Disney better oil up
The people at disney truly are cowards, huh?
Or they're actually transphobic
on one hand disney should be called out for being hypocrites BUT on the other hand the episode itself is bad and the message its trying to covey is debatable to say the least
Gonna elaborate how?
Okay but where can I watch the episode?
Its funny since these things are happening. Right now on the American west coast there is an anti trans volley ball movement of all things and they make the same exact arguments as Greer. Honestly the episode is needed now more than ever.
Turns out that some people don't like the idea of some hairy freak nearly shattering a girls skull.
We don’t want men in women’s sports
I want to see this episode where is it!!!!
This reminds me of svtfoe they wanted to make Marco a trams female, but it was taken away
Never was that intention
@ramdelure There is literally an episode where Marco freaks out over being buried in a suit. There's another episode where one different planet there's a character who was afraid she wasn't like the other dogs in which the camera pans onto Marcos face when this is said. And finally, "ITS NOT CRIMINAL TO BE AN INDIVISUAL" WAS LITERALLY CREATED WHEN MARCO WAS A PRINCESS! And Stars magic, for some unknown reason, immediately put Marco in a princess outfit that episode

You cry "propaganda", and it's just queer people existing and having their stories told. 🙄
@yokoyakamori6589 I'm calling it what it is. Look up the definition. Propaganda is the spread of information, ideas, and or rumors. Queers can exsit all they want so long as they aren't hurting people.
Static Shock was a kids show that dealt with racial issues.
@ShockwaveFPSStudios and I loved that show that dealt with such and issue maturely. However Queer representation is completely different when you push it on little 6 year old. Why are they pushing this on kids so much is why I'm asking.
@@ShockwaveFPSStudios Yeah, and the dad is still a racist and pulled a “you’re one of the good ones card”.

Be better Disney
Men can’t be women and Women can’t be men
The episode is bad
First
As I mentioned on the original upload, trans females still have the same skeletal structures as men (having more durable bones), it makes complete sense why the coach would want to bench the player.
@@idkaname1085 i think you meant Micheal Phelps? If i'm wrong, sorry.
@@averyfields8183 Oh I did, thanks for the correction. Both were catalogued in the same area I guess and used the wrong one.
@@papercut_reviews To be fair, trans people in sports was the main topic of the cartoon. And half of the video itself was discussing the episode's plot. I didn't think it would be too off topic to consider.
They never really cared. You’re like everyone else. Just a consumer.
Also for Gravity Falls, Dipper was supposed to be Trans but that got scrapped from the show too.
That's actually a headcanon. Besides, Alex based Dipper and Mabel on himself and his sister.
That’s misinformation. There’s no evidence of that
Really? Were you got that information from?

Sucks that this amazing show is getting the can because of Disney and the wrong attention because hate how "woke" it is. Well this episode isn't the greatest, I like that the team wanted to tackle this topic and give trans a positive view. Sucks that people think it's just for woke point and agree with the Coach's harsh logic.
The people who dislike this episode use the "it's a kids show" or "nobody cares for this" defense when anything can be shown, it just depends on the execution
