The reason why I like this channel and how it differs from other athletics themed channels is because you give credit also for field events as well. Many athletics themed channels are mainly based on track events. Athletics is track and field, not only track.

Back in 1978 my college (Calif State University Long Beach) sponsored a 'field events only' track meet that used to attract some national talent, both open and collegiate competitors. One year when I was there John Powell (USA) launched the discus about 2 inches/5cm beyond the old world record. That's the first and only time I've seen a T&F world record be set. Pretty cool to see that at a local meet.

Like the way it is in Adelaide, it failed to cater for this big event, miserably...(and i live there)
More than HALF the carpark was closed due to building works..and nearby parks (and there is ALOT of them), were consumed by adjacent business and sports patronage - not a carpark to be found within reasonable walking distance.
The only good thing was that it was streamed live and free.
The men's 1500 was the biggest let down. A potential under age WR on the cards , with 5 (FIVE) athletes who have PBs under 3:34..2 of them capable of sub 3:30...and it was won in 3:37..

For what it's worth, I can't remember Oz ever having as much depth across both track and field ever before, or in track at least since the early 70s for the women. It won't translate into many or even any gold medals, but at least there now are many competitive athletes at the world level, which should help to grow interest and participation in the sport. I don't really know what the athletics authorities here have done to achieve that. I don't think there is much government funding.
On the paywall viewing front, Daniel is offering a free illegal stream for enthusiasts. Did you leave that little nugget at the bottom of your screen dump in there on purpose?
