ATTENTION MAZDA OWNERS !!! In case you are not aware ( because it was not advertised) there was a call back on Gen 3 and Gen 4 2.5 for premature failure of the vacume pump / brake booster. The problem was that they used a rubber seal that would fail due to contact with the engine oil / fuel . My 2015 is a used Mazda 6 Gt and I was lucky I chose to remove my intake manifold ( to check on carbon buildup) and found almost 8 ounces of motor oil. I believe Mazda swapped out the rubber for silicone seals but the wiper blade ends wear down as well so you eventually will get oil going through the vent hose into the intake. If you do have it run through an oil / air separator you will notice a lot of oil that before took 1000’s of km/ miles before the same amount. A failed brake booster can lengthen your stopping distance. As far as I have discovered the vacume pump itself is a dealership part and is covered by the call back . You can find the PDF online about the callback .
Been following you from the mazda forum since you supercharged it. Glad to hear she's treating you well so far. Definitely looking forward to whatever mods you have coming for the 6!
Been following along and I'm glad it's still alive. Now I'm considering doing the same for my 2018 mazda3 hatch. The fact that it still gets roughly the same mileage definitely helps.
to be fair it's the same on the freeway, but if your driving in-town with a heavy foot it'll drop more noticeably, but overall my normal daily driving, mostly in town, I'm down 1-2mpg, if I'm feeling spicy on the drive I may be down another 2-4mpg
I supercharged my mazda6 v6 4 years ago and had zero issues for years until I found shaving in the oil pan so now I have a different motor and I am rebuilding the v6 with lower compression pistons so it can handle more psi
Hi mate, im from AUS I have a 2013 maz6 in the sports 6speed tip, auto such a great car already as it is but would love a turbo or supercharge solution? my question is what transport. are you running and how has it been?..

Have it had it analyzed to find more optimized oil change intervals? Apologies if you've spoke about this in pervious videos. Looking forward to more videos about your mazda 6.
I'm just running 5k mile oil changes, haven't had any issues, at 2.5 years and 30k miles with the supercharger now. A few others with the supercharger have had their oil analyzed and nobody has detected issues.
Great you are sharing your experience even after some time. What I can read from your sum up for me is still a more trustful product than before. I was thinking I should put it to my 3 BM but from the family requirements to get more space I switched to 6 and this post resurrected my old idea. Glad to hear you are still satisfied. Btw: Is there any extra care for supercharger required? How to do a maintenance for supercharger and when? Fingers crossed! Peace to all.
no extra maintenance, except I'm planning to replace the belt probably twice as often as OE. Theoretically the supercharger is no maintenance sealed bearings/gears for at least 100k miles
@@M6Ninja thanks for a sharing. PS: maybe I overlooked it but do you have a list of all modifications and parts used in your M6 somewhere? Fingers crossed for your project!
The standard 2.5 engine has about 194 horses with the installation of a supercharger, how much power increases and that a new map is needed, and some modifications to the exhaust or gearbox?

Hey Great video! I'm thinking of doing this to my 2018 Mazda 3. But was there a clearence problem with the air intake because I'm thinking of buying the AFE air intake with the coolingbox. WOuld that fit with the supercharger?
So just a quick question for all the mechanics out there. The naturally aspirated 2.0l fourbanger has a very high compression by stock. How do you change that with the supercharger kit? I know you cant run the same compression with a compressionkit. Im thinking about turboing my 2014 skyactiv g165 MZ3 for easy power
Actually the mechanical CR is a non-issue, because it leaves the intake valves open at the beginning of the compression stroke to control the effective compression ratio. Just replace the intake manifold with the compressor, and boom 50-60% more air flow! the kit for the 2.0L uses a 0.75L compressor whereas the kit for the 2.5L uses a 0.9L compressor Even when going to a smaller pulley there is no need to open/change any internals of the motor. With more than 50 of us running these kits, in various states of tune, there are still zero incidents of failed engines, these Skyactiv engines are really strong
Do you know if the mazda6 manual is overbuilt enough to handle the added torque and hp? I was searching for the Facebook group but can't find it. Would love to talk to someone with a manual that has done this mod. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Yes, the manual is fine with the extra power, though some people are having some clutch slippage and have upgraded it. It's true that the manual is not as strong as the automatic, but neither of them are near their limit yet with this kit, it's very linear boost, gentler than a turbo! check out the FB group: Skyactiv-G Super/Turbo Community facebook.com/groups/skyactivgsuperturbo
Just replaced the heavy giant muffler with a Thrush turbo muffler, replaced the spark plugs with 1 step colder plugs made for Nissan GT-R, also added an oil cooler (not necessary unless you take it racing like I do). Note: the stock headers on these engines are so good that it's not worth changing, as most aftermarket headers will lose torque across a lot of the rpm range. Doesn't really need any supporting mods, just switch to the colder plugs and get it tuned (highly recommend Justin form MazdaSauceTuning@gmail.com)
