Hi Nick, yes maintenance on boats and trailers is a never ending job, i gives you peace of mind when it's done, the tank looks great Sara
🙏🏻👍🏻
Thanks for stopping by for my son today. He wont stop talking about it.
Agreed! He couldn’t believe you were there. When they told us!
Good meeting you all!
I/m out of Port O’Connor Texas and have a 2015 X3 with 500 hours for sale. You can find it on Craig’s list at Wetland Marine. Great boat!
Nick, certainly you know what the definition of a BOAT is, don't you? Bust Out Another Thousand baby, and it was true when I owned my 1979 Seasprite too! LMAO!
Mannnnnnn I live this video. So much information. Great video Stan
Glad you enjoyed it!
Had multiple reef & straight salt tanks for years. Between the MH lighting, pumps, protein skimmers, C02 tanks/regulators, chillers, ROdi systems for water, salt buckets, the obligatory chems/balancers, live rock and coral frags, plus the electric to run everything, it's cheaper to own a boat lol. Tank looks great!!! Had the clams, brains, acropora, millepora, bristle star fish, feather dusters, anemone, green crabs, blood shrimp, banded coral shrimp, peppermint shrimp. A separate mushroom tank, and a separate breeder tank. It's huge work, very expensive, but very rewarding.
You know the deal!! I bet you had some fun with them. It’s a project for sure . Thanks for watching
@@StanzFam I loved watching them for hours swaying in the current, and watching the critters eat & interact, but the most rewarding was when people walked into my house and said "Oh my god, that is absolutely beautiful". I have a friend who has a 450 gallon tank in his house. The structural work to the house to support the tank was astronomical.
Your tank looks amazing. The coral look incredible and so do the fish. I had a Queen angel fish for almost 15 years. It was so big. I started with 50 gallon then had get a 100 gallon and then move to a 300 gallon. Yes it a expensive hobby.
That is awesome! 15 years with one fish is impressive
Good job guys.
Hey Nick, nice video like always put a 2 x 4 or 200 a barrel you can pump on almost all of it out down to 2 gallons should always cross your chains or cables under the ball to catch it. If it comes off the strap goes under.
Agreed on crossing them 👊🏻.
Fish tank is looking great!!!
Thanks!
Never a dull moment
Great maintenance video
Thanks!
Fiesta key KOA. Good memories. Spent many summers there.
Awesome! Great to hear
You need to get yourself a barrel bung to get that extra five gallons out 😊 hehe
I learned my lesson with Keys boat ramps. Launched my 30 footer at a questionable ramp in Stock Island. Ended up going around the corner to a dry storage place to get it out with the forklift when it was time to leave.
That’s always a safer bet for sure
@@StanzFam I stopped in front of Bud n Mary’s to get a stanz shirt on the way back. I was getting the middle finger salute from the people trying to get out of the restaurant next door!
Hmmm, hate to hear that. Maybe someone having a bad day?
@@StanzFam totally my fault, they couldn’t see around my truck and boat… but I’ve been watching your videos for too long not to stop!
Just a tip, when you pull the prop off, put a little bit of grease on the splines of the shaft. It will prevent the prop from getting siezed onto the shaft.
100%. A little fresh grease would have been a good idea, fortunately still some there from last time so not too worried about it
21 year old clown fish is crazy! I love salt water aquariums, I have several..
Agreed. He’s gone back and forth between Sara and her friend a few times but that’s a long living fish!
If I'm ever able to afford a $100,000 boat it's either going to be a 25' X3 or a Key West 250 Bay Reef. I really like that boat you guys have but those Key West boats are made locally. About 45 minutes away from where we live. They're also very nice. It's a hard choice.
Both great boats for sure
I really enjoy the video Nick!!,, 😂👍👊👊 (💪 Sarah!! 💪😘🌷👊)
Glad you liked it!!
You can get is all the way on the trailer with Liquid Rollers
RUclips slipped up and did not send a notification out to me but I found you anyway 👍
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it
Hey, would you recommend spraying the engine/motor with the Yamalube protectant spray? For my waverunner the dealer wants me to soak everything with it after every use!
Yamalube is a great product too! For sure. A can every month or two is well worth the benefits imo
stanz my man u killed that oil change and love all your viedos .. keep up great work love the houseboat to that's the life on that for few day's vacation... btw thx for the 20 percent to appreciate it ..
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it
Capt. Nick, can you stop by and change the oil in my boats? Just a suggestion, change all the trailers couplers to the largest size trailer you’ve got, saves time and trouble, you never have to change the ball. Cost a few bucks but its worth it.
That’s a great idea about the trailer couplers. Would definitely make it easier. Thanks
As a boat owner myself it’s so important to learn how to do the oil change and lower unit service yourself. Will save you money for sure. The better you know your boat the safer and better off you are out in the water.
100%
Hi Stanz Fam. 😍🇺🇲🖤🍻🍺
Pretty sure the bow winch strap needs to go under the roller to help hold the boat down in the trailer.
That definitely works better 👍🏻
I thought I was the only person left who uses the term catywhompus 😅
👊🏻😂
hey do you change the fuel filter under the cowl, water pump impeller, motor zincs and plugs too at 100 hrs?
No. We will do small secondary fuel filter usually every other oil change and water pump when needed. Since we use the boats on a regular basis and don’t spend too much time up shallow we never really have the impellers go bad. If we ran shallow or the boat sat for extended period of times we would do the impeller more often
Thinking of coming down next summer for our 30th anniversary, towing from SC is quite a haul, do y’all rent boats? Not quite sure I could swing multiple charters while there.
Hey
We don’t have rental boats at Bud n’ Mary’s but there are few different companies in town here that have them
What brand of hub is that I’ve never seen one that style before?
Not sure if I have correct video watched 6 last nite I've always heard it's called a motor like motor boat motor is entire unit with engine
Any tips on what to do if my trailer is floating. Tandem axle trailer for 23’ center console. As soon as both tires get in the water it starts floating.
I had a trailer that did that. As long as there was not any current it was fine. It actually helps align the boat. I suppose you can add weight to the trailer if you want it to sink.
We’ve never had a trailer do that but I have seen a few pics before when they do float. I would assume add some weights to it
You think maybe it’s trapping air under the fenders? I just can’t see how those 4 tires lift that heavy trailer. That’s where we have issues if the water is moving a little the trailer will start floating sideways by the time I’m driving towards it
I had a salt tank, now I throw my money at Charter Captains
You don't need it on the ramp you used, but show people how to buy and use a set of rubber chocks they can keep in the bed or tool box of their trucks. Everyone has seen the submerged cars and truck videos at boat ramps. Most probably think the people it happened to were idiots (and most probably were), but once in a while it can be a mechanical fault in the vehicle, and without a set of chocks in place, there it goes. Once, when using a 3/4 ton diesel van to launch my boat, with the emergency brake on, put in park, steep ramp, got out, took two steps and the gear selection lever popped out of park, and there it went. I managed to turn around and jump in and stop it, but it made a believer out of me. I also watched a truck start doing a slow slide down a algae covered ramp. Use chocks, they dont cost nearly what a new vehicle does.
Great point. Appreciate it
Hey buddy been trying to purchase a couple of your nick sticks online but been sold out how long before they are restocked
I was hoping by the end of the month but manufacturer is waiting on blanks. No telling at the moment but hopefully within a few weeks
@@StanzFam yea cause I'm trying to catch me a 200 lb halibut like you lol
Haha, I don’t recommend the rod for fish that big but it did work! I will make an announcement when we get more in stock
When is there going to be some fishing on this channel?
This afternoon
What is the fin on the motor right above the prop?
Just an oversized cavitation plate to help keep water on the prop
Anybody know what ramp that is?
Anyone know if the 300’s have air filters? Doing my first 100 hr service soon and never hear anyone talk about changing an air filter.
I’ve never seen an air filter on one
Going with another 25 x3?
Yep
Nice. Any changes or big add ons with the new one?
Just a few changes, will make a video for sure. Garmin Electronics being the biggest change
Did you grease the prop shaft? And you forgot to do the fuel filter on the engine. Small pieces of insurance…
Still a little grease on the prop shaft but some more wouldn’t hurt. We change the secondary fuel filter every other oil change usually, fortunately we rarely see them clogged up here
Would a electric oil pump be easier. Just run a extension cord from something or off your truck.
wsg
😃👍👍👍❤
Man, you should have not put that trailer wench strap over the front roller, it’s supposed to go underneath the roller
100%
Why are you filming ng in the dark can't see anything in that barn
are you really gonna try to make us believe you didnt put 3 gallons of oil in that engine one more little oil change trick when you pull the dip stick out to check level never ever tilt it with the point up because the fresh oil will run towards your hand and make it look like there is more oil on the stick so always keep your stick facing the ground or keep it level so it doesnt move on the stick
There’s still over a gallon of oil in the orange bucket. Good advice on the dip stick, fortunately never had a problem with too much or too little oil the last 10,000 hours we ran on the outboards. I assume that’s why the make the the metal or plastic textured between the two marks so the oil doesn’t run as easy and give an inaccurate reading. Little room to play for sure between the marks on the dipstick, I’d guess close to a quart between the low and high mark with no difference in engine performance
