The Sam/Jason fan base threw major hissy fits writing threatening letters to the writers that they would stop watching the show if they didn't put Sam and Jason back together in 2008-09. It even got so bad they even started attacking Becky Herbst who plays Liz and Kelly who plays Sam had to actually step in and tell the rabid fans it was only a show and that her and Becky are friends in real life. That's the only reason they put Jason back with Sam when they did. Steve Burton (Jason) actually wanted jason and Elizabeth to be together and wanted to see where they could go as characters. That's why the put Liason together when they did. But the Sam fans got all upset and they made the writers change it back. It was so out of character for Jason to take Sam back too. He literally said he would never forgive her, and then a short while later does a complete 360 and suddenly forgives her like it never happened. When he's held a grudge or not forgiven someone for a lot less (Robin). It honestly disgusts me that Jason took Sam back after what she did, to Jason's flesh and blood son no less.
