I don't know if tattoos are a sin. Scripture does not specifically mention tattoos or marking your body except for the dead as in mourning like the pagans do. But God throughout the Old Testament does mention that He doesn't want His children worshipping the gods of the pagans or following/accepting pagan customs. Tattoos are pagan customs. I hate to burst your bubble but...
    Leviticus 18:3 (NKJV)
3 According to the doings of the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; and according to the doings of the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ordinances.
That pretty much spells out do not get tattoos. If you already have, then maybe try to remove them if you can afford it. If you are clinging to them after being saved, why are you clinging on to them? I had thought about getting a tattoo when I was in the Marines, but I didn't. I'm very glad I didn't.

My take, and I know it's consistent with the word and way of the Lord is that our bodies is the temple of God. We must be careful NOT to desecrate the temple of God. Again, whatever we do must honor God. If someone had a tattoo in ignorance before coming to Christ, that's it. But as a Christian, you can't go get a tattoo!

I wonder if his views on tattoos have changed as he has matured in the faith. Firstly, he is correct in recognizing that people who quote Lev 19:28 as a reason for having tattoos is a sin are not properly interpreting the passage in its proper context. Secondly, it is very hypocritical and inconsistent to tell someone that having a tattoo is a sin, all the while wearing a dri-fit shirt or clothing made of two kinds of materials (Lev 19:19). With that being said, I believe for the children of God living under the new covenant that Jesus has ushered in through his blood (Jer 31:31-34; 1 Cor 11:17-34), the Old Testament (OT) restrictions do not apply. Jesus has fulfilled all the OT rules and requirements on behalf of humanity and has brought us out from under the law to the freedom of grace (Gal 3:23-28). Yet in this new covenant of grace, we are held to higher standard where we must live in love - of which we are commanded to lay down our lives for one another (John 15:13). Practically, that means we ought to honor one another above ourselves, not equally to ourselves (Rom 12:10), and we ought to consider the interest of others above our own (Phil 2:1-5). The preacher was right in instructing youth to talk with their parents before making the decision to get tattoos because it put the interest of parents above their own, and it honors the parents. However, the principle of honor and the interests of others is not regulated to children, youth, minors, or young people but to all people. In fact, especially as a leader within the church, greater care must be given to avoid stumbling the faith of others (Rom 14; 1 Cor 8)!
Paul says about caring for the conscience of others: "Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak. 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols? 11 So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. 12 When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall" (1 Cor 8:9-13). The principle here is that yes, you may have the freedom to certain privileges, however true love does not exercise the right to those privileges for the sake of others. That is why in the Assemblies of God, ministers make a commitment to abstain from alcohol. It is not a sin to drink alcohol (getting drunk is a sin), but ministers abstain from drinking for the conscience of others. How much more, should tattoos be abstained from if it stumbles others!
May we, the church and family of Jesus, learn to lay down our rights and freedoms for the sake of others as Jesus did for us in dying innocently and vicariously for us. Amen.

Israel The exercise of Good judgement when become to Holiness is Become Rare in this times. And What you say is so on the point Here is something to add to the Thought. Measuring Devices are tools use to seek standards of application.
The Law of Moses Shows how we can measure right from wrong .
The Jews Heritage has brought moral framework to the Christianity and Jesus Lived By them and Follow them and By doing so, He was approved by The Father.
Although No Jesus follower will be justified by the Law That doesn’t disapprove that The Law was a Good measuring tape.

But I told god that, even if I did get another tattoo, my love and faith in him will never ever change. I thanked him for everything he has done for me, (past and present) and I told him that I never want to loose him. I asked him for a sign that he’d always b with me, no matter wat I decided. I was not going to respond to your comments but I think you need to understand that the Scripture is very clear on this topic, my friend. First the verse that I referred to states, "Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment." This "pastor" will be judged more strictly because he has chosen to become a teacher. Why? He needs to know what the Scripture states and teach it as it states in the full context of other Scriptures. If a Scripture states that something is black or white then that is what it means. Leviticus 19:28 is clear, "You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD." Who made this statement? You? Keith Culver? Me? NO, "I am the LORD"! That's what it states. What happened between the Old Testament and the new? Jesus became the sacrificial lamb so we no longer have to make sacrifices of animal including a lamb to shed blood for our sins. Christ did that for us (John 1:29). Leviticus 19:28 has nothing to do with us making atonement for our sins just like the Ten Commandments has nothing to do with making atonement of our sins. What both Leviticus 19:28 and the Ten Commandments, for example have in common is that they point us to what is sinful in the eyes of the Lord God our Creator. Therefore we as Christians should not make have a tattoo added to our bodies. If we are made in the image of God then why would we want to mar our bodies with something NOT made in the image of God intentionally? (Genesis 1:27)
Now, what about a person that already has tattoo's on them before coming into a personal born-again relationship with the Lord? They are not responsible for what they have done to themselves in the past just as a person that has prostituted themselves to another God or to people sexually. (1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.") Also, if a new Christian doesn't know what Leviticus 19:28 states and has a tattoo added to their body they to are also not responsible for what they don't know. We are responsible for what we DO KNOW and it is as clear as "the nose on your face" that Leviticus 19:28 states "You shall not ... make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD." You therefore ARE responsible for what you know and if you disobey that Scripture you will be responsible for that before the Lord.

@@asaltyraiderfanboyderek4mv793 I see you are not well versed on what Christ's sacrifice on the cross removed from the Levitical Law as well as how the New Testament and Old Testament is tied together to become the Bible that we are to obey. Remember what John Chapter One states about Christ - The Word became flesh ... Also what Christ stated in response to Satan in the Matthew 4 - Christ's first response. When Christ made that statement what does Christ mean by "every word that proceeds from the mouth of God"? Is He not speaking at that time of Old Testament? Since my "Born Again" (John 3) experience at the age of 18 until today my study of the Words of God did not include reading what other men say about what the Word of God states. I have invested almost 50 years in reading Gods Word - not men's - and then have done what the Bereans did to the Apostle Paul to compare what men like Keith Culver state about the Word of God lining it up / comparing it to what Scripture has to say about the subject. Mr. Culver is making up a false doctrine and will be held accountable as a teacher - just as the Pharisee's and Sadducee's - for what he teaches and thus leading believers astray. For you, my friend, please do not depend on what others say about the Scripture! If you have the Holy Spirit - the Third part of the Trinity - in you then He will teach you all things over time as He has so graciously done for me and millions of others. --- Blessings! Let me ask. Is a tattoo a desire of the spirit or of the flesh. Does it edify the temple of Christ (aka your body. Does this satisfy God, does it honor him, is it obedience to God, is it prioritizing The Lord? Though the old laws may no longer condemn us, they still apply. God is the same as yesterday, today, and for ever is he not? Does not the word say the our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit of God? Are we not to be a royal priesthood. Aren’t we supposed to seek The kingdom of God and his righteousness first. Are we not to follow in the steps of Christ and his Apostles being him the foundation, are we not to separate ourselves from the world and the traditions, did Jesus not rescue us to from the mud to be new creatures in him? Plainly speaking, the tattoo is not the sin, it’s the act of putting one’s desires first thus putting God second. He who wants to be my disciple Jesus said, deny yourself, pickup your cross and follow me.

A lot of Christian forget that we will be resurrected one day with a type of body similar to that which we are housed in now and that it will be clothed with God's glory. Jesus himself, when he was resurrected, still had the nailed scarred hands however clothed in glory. His side was still pierced but clothed in glory. Our earthly body is not just done away with (this is a misconception).
God has called us to holiness. He has called us to honour our bodies, and bring it up to him as a living sacrifice and not to doodle on it with cartoons or demonic art.
Imagine having a tattoo of a devil on your back and being in the presence of God at the resurrection.
    1 Corinthians 15:35-44 NIV
But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
    1 Corinthians 15:52 NIV
For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
    2 Corinthians 5:2-3 NIV
Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
    Genesis 3:7
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

The trith is that yee glorifies the flesh more than the Spirit and this is clear by what you manifest in the flesh, i say to you "yee are flesh and do not decern the things of the spirit", you justify your actions rather than seeking out the will of God.

@@joelsambrano6356 The Scribes added to the Law THEIR traditions NOT following the Law as written in the bible that they had at that time - the Old Testament. For example look at Matthew 15, "Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 “Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.” 3 And He answered and said to them, “Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God,” 6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.’ And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:
8 ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me.
9 ‘But in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’”
So, the Scribes added to their law that when you eat you MUST wash your hands. They also greedily told the believers / the Jews that it was better to give to "God" rather than honoring their parents by taking care of them when necessary. My, Brother Joel Sambrino, you need to take the reading and study of Scripture as serious as Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour did when He was tempted in the desert before he began his formal ministry. Matthew 4 states, "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on EVERY word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’” I encourage you to get serious my friend by reading the Scripture and try to live it out. Yes, you and I fall short and it is by the grace of the Lord we are saved (Ephesians 2:1-10). BUT that gives you nor me the right to not follow everything in Scripture as the Holy Spirit provides us strength.

Here is the scripture where it is found in the Torah.
NKJ Leviticus 19:28 `You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD (Lev. 19:28 NKJ)
    1. Cuttings - ‎ In Hebrew שֶׂ֣רֶט (Lev. 19:28) pronounced Sa’ret. Meaning incision or scratch drawing of blood. Make gashes in oneself (a pagan mourning ritual) inflict a wound on oneself (KBL), injure oneself grievously, badly
    2. Tattoo- In Hebrew ‎ קַֽעֲקַ֔ע (Lev. 19:28) pronounced ka’ahka. Meaning incision drawing blood, and imprintment. This word only occurs once in the whole of the Tanach (Old Testament),
    3. Marks In Hebrew כּתֹ֫בֶת (Lev. 19:28) pronounced k’tovet. Meaning writing, inscription (mark or sign)
When we read the Scriptures we switch our biased thoughts off. We enter reading the scriptures in neutral mode. We do not force our biased opinions and prejudice on the Scriptures. To change an error in our thinking is the hardest thing to do. But to live our life in a lie destroys you and negatively impacts and destroys other innocent people who interact with you. So choose life in Him and follow His way, not your way. If we cannot do the smallest things for Elohim (God) and our Mashiach (Messiah) how can you do the largest things for Him! The largest things are made up of the smallest things. So if you fail at the smallest things you will never be able to do the large things for Him. If you fail the First Commandment - which you shall Love Him with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might/willpower you will never be able to keep the rest; and your understanding of His words become corrupted with arrogance and prideful understanding and not His. We must never place our will, our understanding, and our interpretation of the scriptures above YaHVaH Elohim (God) and our Mashiach( Messiah).
    Shalom
    Samuel

some people who have a Tattoo do it by coping what others are doing due to ignorance. Others have it due to the unresolved emotional pain they have passed. others have opened demonic spiritual doors by having tattoos. We all need Jesus to heal us and surrender our pain to him rather than expressing in our body. Jesus came to heal the broken hearted. Many leaders of the church have a tattoo and many want to copy what they have; we should follow the word of God and the word of God should dwell in us richly. pastors, believers we are all working towards heaven. lest you be deceived. St. Paul says even as I preach the gospel I look back at my self so that I may not miss the mark. when one buys a Rolls Royce Cullinan and a cheap small second hand vehicle which one will he be careful not to be scratched & scribbled? yo be the judge. here is a simple answer the Bible gives us...Jeremiah 10:1-2 1 Hear ye the word of the Lord that he speaketh unto you, O house of Israel. Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen....and also in Deuteronomy 12. Tattoos, Leviticus 19:28 "Ye shall not cut your flesh for the dead, nor make any print of a mark upon you: I am the Lord." God is a jealous God, he wants us to live holy lives and not learn from satan's world and its practices but from God and his kingdom, remember we are sojourners on this earth. Why is there a need for the church to become more like satan's world instead of becoming more like Christ? Are you looking for acceptance from your friends or do you want them to think that you are normal? People want you to become like they are, if you have non-christian friends they want you to drink, party, sin, be lustful and do all the evil practices they do, they do not understand holiness and they actually hate it. Preach the truth to them and have them see that happiness will not be found in imitating others but instead to be right with God.

Have you ever thought how many people are prepared to be marked in this generation as tatooing mentality is spreading very fast. Should you spray paint your favorite verse on the outside of the church? Obviously not, you don't own it. 1 Cor 6:20 "... for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." Try spray painting verses on the Pastors car, see how pleased they are. "For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.” 1st Corinthians 3:16-17. God is the potter, WE are the clay. He chooses our form and colors, as He chooses. We are all masterpieces of His creation, but what happens to the value of a masterpiece when someone puts graffiti on it??? It is not a salvation issue, but it IS a respect issue for both the temple and the creator of it. I appreciate him at least bringing the subject up. The graffiti you put on the Pastors car would also start conversations, does that mean you should do it? Just say no.

“When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, be very careful not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations living there.
    Deuteronomy 18:9 NLT
“Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the Lord.
    Leviticus 19:28 NLT
There were different laws given and one was do not do as the nations do. People argue that the law is done away with. Only certain parts are done away with example the sacrificial laws. If tattoos are done away with meaning we can now tattoo then witchcraft is done away with also. Meaning if I can tattoo then I can also do witchcraft and also do all the sexual perversions the law also warns us about. Prostitution, lesbianism, homosexuality, pedophilia, beastiality, laying with family members etc. are all allowed. God said these are what the nations do and He does not want us doing it. He said it's an abomination, it defiles the land.
The prophets and apostles had no tattoos, Jesus had no tattoos. Paul speaks against sexual perversion and witchcraft and this came from the law. Its what the nations were still doing. We are not to be like the nations around us, our body is His temple.
As for God engraving on His hands, we must realize God is not flesh but Spirit. He was telling us in the flesh not to do it, it was for the dead and the spirit of the world

The question is who do you think you are fooling when you put a tattoo for God? Tattoo is of the world not of God. Doesn matter if its a cross or words of the beattitudes. Lets all mark the word of God in our HEARTS and not the TEMPLE OF CHRIST. You are worshipping what the devil wants. So your preaching is false. I aks everyone to keep meditating on the word of God and he will gve you wisdom and knowledge to understand his words. Nowadays preachers are twisting Gods word and law. Very sad but we live in the time of revelation. Open your eyes and dont follow the world

The New Testament defines sin as anything done outside of the realm of faith, (Romans 14:23), and that whatever we do should be done to the glory of God, (1 Corinthians 10:31). God also says that he gives us his laws and statutes for OUR good,, (Deuteronomy 6:24).
So if you can honestly say that the health risks you are taking, do not warrant God's warning of caution, and that Jesus will truly be glorified before the Father and the angels of heaven by your added graffiti on the body He made for you, in His own perfect image, then I suppose you need to go right ahead and get it, (Proverbs 14:12).

The church has majored on minors and has alienated so many people because of it. The people that I've found that complain about it the most are the people that like to judge and or pic and chose what they deem sin or not. Those same people can use chapter and verse to justify what they want to do, but also to condemn things like tattoos. They will qoute versus out of the Old Testement, that were written specifically for the Isaralites, not for us today. Having said that there is things that do pertain to us as Christians. I have 2, I got them to remind me of God's goodness and his promises, if thats sin to you, then you're just flat out wrong. If you feel like it's sin to you, then don't do it, but please don't judge others for doing it , because in the scheme of things, judging others in that context is a much more damaging sin.

Whether it’s Israelites or Gentiles today we as God’s people we must know the will of God.
Before we indulged to anything we must have a purpose. if you eat anything then it is to fill your hunger… if its about mixed clothes it is to cover all your body. if it is about agriculture then it is to produce food. And it’s valid and common understanding.
what is your purpose behind having tattoo on your body? We must go deep in understanding the truth of having tattoos.
Does it produce holiness… does it pleases the Lord… we want to have it because we desire to have. But what should matter to us is whether it pleases God or not.
When In New Testament says in 2 Timothy 2:22
“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
What does it mean not to follow to the patterns of the world? It’s clear if we follow, we are welcoming world and sin in our lives that is how many preachers and believers fall and are away from God’s presence… I am not here to debate but speaking in Spirit that do not say yes to what displeases the Lord…
    Proverb 14: 15-18
    15 The simple believe anything,
but the prudent give thought to their steps.
16 The wise fear the LORD and shun evil,
but a fool is hot-headed and yet feels secure.
    17 A quick-tempered person does foolish things,
and the one who devises evil schemes is hated.
    18 The simple inherit folly,
but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
    God bless you all

If you got your tattoos before you got born again, you have no problem but you call yourself a Church leader, and go get tattoos, is very funny, and it's an hindrance to the gospel, and you defile the temple of The Holy Spirit.
