I think Christ dying on the cross is the biggest reminder of what He’s done for me. I don’t need a tattoo to be a reminder of scripture or anything. I want to respect my body as the temple. I don’t want to blend into the world but stand out as a reflection of Christ.

No one needs a tattoo. Some people appreciate art and beauty and the way it enhances the beauty that is the human body. If you don’t want to blend into the world I assume you also have a problem with ears pierced or wearing makeup or a million other things of this world. Being judgmental is a great way to fit in with this world. Just another perspective.

@@andreaguess9718 It’s my viewpoint and i respect yours. Scripture is clear yet people interpret scripture to the way they want so it’s all up to the person. Lots of the LGBTQ community interpret scripture to justify their lifestyle yet scripture is clear. I’m simply stating my beliefs. I’m not going far as blending in with silly things because everyone uses cars, eats, watches tv, goes to the movies etc. I’m talking about tattoos here.

I wanna share my story regarding this topic. I am COVERED in tattoos, from head to toe 😭 I started getting them when I was 17 - way before I came to know Jesus & surrender my life to Him. I found my identity in my tattoos and I got them with the wrong motives/intentions when I was living IN sin. The spirit of lust and rejection had a strong hold of me. I was deeply depressed and lost in the world, I became addicted to tattoos perhaps the pain became a way for me to cope with what I was feeling on the inside. I was trying to fill the empty void with everything in the world, not realizing my need for a Lord & Savior!! I turned to sex, alcohol, drugs, and TATTOOS to try to fill that void. But no matter how many men I slept with, how many drugs I did, how many tattoos I got - it was never enough. It always left me feeling empty. It was all just temporary happiness/satisfaction. I needed JESUS. Only He could fill the void in my heart ❤
When I got saved last year, I chose to become celibate and sober. I didn’t even think about my tattoos until I felt the Holy Spirit convicted me! That’s when I repented for my tattoos and I promised God I was DONE with tattoos and I wouldn't get another. God has forgiven me and set me free! I found my identity in Him alone. I am a new creation in Christ. God has forgiven me for my sins, including my tattoos. I know these tattoos may be viewed as permanent on my body, in this world, but I know I will no longer have them on my glorified body, in my Heavenly home 🕊🙌🏼. Now, my tattoos represent my old life apart from God. They are a part of my testimony and also a reminder of what I was before Jesus rescued me. As a heavily tatted Christian (now), I can help another brother/sister understand God's goodness and mercy. What the enemy intended for evil, God will turn for good. My tattoos have been such a great conversation starter for me to lead people to the gospel and how Jesus SAVED me! All glory be to God! AMEN 🙏🏼💗

No it shouldn’t be an encouraging thing for us to get tattoos, even if it’s to glorify God. God doesn’t want us to cut into our skin and to shed blood. It hurts God. So this question actually has a yes or no answer to it. If we want to glorify God, let’s start be loving our neighbour like we love ourselves. Let’s start by living a life worthy of praise. If we want intimate moments with eachother, let’s spend time with one another and pray for one another. At the end of our days when we are buried, our bodies will rot in the grave, making tattoos a thing done in vain. But our lifestyle will be judged by God, and our words that we spoke when we were alive. We shouldn’t idolise things and then mark it on our body, it doesn’t matter how much we try to justify it. The Muslims even know this, yet we Christians so badly want to delve into other things and justify it by God’s Grace. I don’t hate anyone who believes in tattoos, and I’m not better than them just because I don’t have any tattoos. If anything it’s a conversation. It’s a revelation. As the body of Christ, Christ Himself said we should judge righteously. Christ did not die so that we could do what we want. He died so we could have power to do what is right. We should not read scripture and choose whatever seems to justify our selfish desires. Lots of love body of Christ. More Grace. More strength. ❤

@@MattStephenson523 Cutting hair is not the same as getting tattoos. People trim their hair to keep their hair healthy. You cannot compare the two as if they're the same. Research more into it and you will understand it in context. Same for not eating pork, understand it in context. We are allowed to eat pork today because God has made all things clean like the bible says, but again you cannot compare this to tattoos because you can't say "because Jesus bled through cuts by beatings, that I can cut myself too!". Also understand why they were instructed not to cut hair in the first place. You are selecting scripture to counteract another scripture. In this video, yes they are talking about it, but they are christian influencers influencing christians and they both decided to tattoo their bodies. They are proving and justifying to the world why they think it's okay to get tattoos, and so while they may not directly say "everyone get tattoos if you want it!" they are still encouraging it as they esteem themselves for getting it. I'm not here to condemn, I'm just letting Christians know that this should not be something that Christians should participate in and I explained in my comment. I think it's very important to know where your convictions lie as you said. For me, I can't even consider the thought of getting a tattoo. I used to want to become a tattoo artist before I knew Jesus and I would imagine myself with my entire body covered in tattoos! And maybe that is the reason why I reject them now: because it reminds me of the life and the person I was before I gave my life to God.

I totally agree! I will not put a foreign substance, ink in my skin, I don't need tatoos to witness for Christ. I don't believe Jesus had them so if I am following Him then why would I want to follow the world and the culture or even " Christian culture that shows scripture to support it, no matter how good they make it sounds? No disrespect but don't agree with Christians who choose to do this and try to justify it with the scriptures. I still love these people just do not agree. We are to have the scriptures written in out hearts.

Indeed. If we knew the lifestyle these artists actually live. I don't want them pinning anything on me. But, on the other hand, that is me. I have the Holy Spirit in me and don't want to live like the world. Freedom in Christ still has boundaries it's called balance. If someone has a tattoo I have had to really change my ideas. Why? because there are so many Christians getting them. I settled in my heart that it is between them and God. It's actually none of my business. You cant buy holiness, it comes from God alone.

The Psalms of David go into a lot of not just God's law, but His ever enduring love. Theres no soul out there He can't save. I grew up in a 'Christian' home that took everything to the extreme. I wasn't allowed to do the dance section in school gym classes, go to school dances, but it was ok for me to dance in figure skating. Then my dad threw away a book because it was about mythology, and Harry Potter wasn't allowed because it was witch craft and I've never seen or read the Lord of the Rings because that would have fallen under mythology. There is so much I missed growing up that I really didn't need to miss out on. Just because of a legalistic Christian view.
I have 3 tattoos and I have more planned. I have several pricings in each ear, I just won't perice my nose, tounge or eyebrow because I don't think it would look good on me. I love reading about mythology, history, fantasy, and how that all connects to the society and culture of that time and I don't think there is anything wrong about learning and reading.
The sin comes in the intention, if you intend on worshipping fantasy, witchcraft, mythology, or the tattoo is a form of worship to a false god then there is the sin. But sin is also in gluttony - binge watching TV, scrolling on social media; false idols (envy) - cleberities, influencers, needing to have the latest phone or toy; pride, lust, anger, laziness, greed there is so much worse that we do on a regular basis than the possible sin a tattoo would cause.

There was never a good relationship with my parents for many reasons, but now I have learnt and read enough to be able to support my ideas and thoughts, and have challenged my dad on many things that he otherwise disagreed with. Like what's the difference between The Chronicles of Narnia vs. The Lord of the Rings. I still haven't read any of the Lord of the Rings, I did listen to The Hobbit on audiobook. And I have expanded my mythology and fantasy books by other authors.
It's about how someone interprets and what they do with what they read, watch and listen to. I'm not reading mythology or fantasy for the worship of it, I'm reading it for the entertainment and history of it and how those stories are put together. This isn't any different then watching reality TV, or fictional show or movie... What's the motivation behind watching and is it pure or is it something that you are watching for the worship of or to idolize the person?

@@arianeprice3176 Thank you for your input. As believers, we are responsible for what we teach and encourage others to the light. Tattoos are not from God, and it is up to us if we want to have that but cannot teach others and say it is ok for us to have. I pray for them to adjust their considerations of what they teach. I know this is common for believers who fell for tattoos and they say something is ok for them to have. We all have different sins but cannot say to teach them that sins are ok. We are encouraged to learn how to repent (change of mind and heart) to do right and to stay away from the sins. This is about having a relationship with God.

Well said Sadie & Korie! This is the first time I heard someone sit down and read that whole verse. A lot of people cherry pick it for the tattoo debate like multiple other scriptures. Even if they watch this whole video and still believe that tattoos are evil, that's their opinion and conviction. I hope if a non-believer with tattoos or piercings (including just earlobes) approaches them or their church to ask questions about God, they don't automatically judge them by their appearance and fail as a witness. Even the scars on someone's skin regardless of how they got them, remember Jesus had scars too on his hands and feet. If the cherry pickers didn't gloss over that whole tattoo verse, then they would probably think people who saved others by sacrificing their own lives was sinful too. But remember, Jesus shed his blood for you too. We are all called to be like Christ and we are made in his image. But none of us look the same do we? A lot of us don't speak the same language either. Everyone's walk with Christ is different. Everyone's convictions are different too. What we are definitely not called to do is playing God by judging and condemning.

Its a blessing anytime any woman or man desires true repentance and change. The Lord accepts and transforms any and all who come to Him with a sincere desire to turn away from their evil, selfish ways. The only unforgivable sin is the full rejection of the Holy Triune, a permanent turning away from His love and mercy. If someone accepts and pursues Christ, who am I to ever feel I am better than they are? Chances are I am worse in my comfort and complacency, and they can teach me a thing or two in their new fervor for Christ. So no, we shouldnt reject someone based on appearance or their past. What I question is those who are already in Christ who still desire to be like the unsaved world, and yes, this includes those who desire tattoos after they are "in Christ."

Thank you. I think those verses were reasons my grandmother NEVER cut her hair. I am 59 now but when i was about 7 or so i stayed overnight at my grandparents house. (Might have been the only time i ever did.) They were very religious. They were very good people. My grandmother was very quiet and not a preachy person, but you just knew what they were thinking, that they were probably disappointed in someone you were or had been doing. But, her hair, she kept it up in this roll around her head. I had no idea how long it was. That night I was sitting on her bed while she sat at her dresser or night table with a mirror. She took her hair down and brushed it. It went to the floor. I kid you not. Funny , they were pretty old when i came along and i wasn't around them much but that one night stood out to me. No cutting her hair, she wore no makeup, only dresses (when she worked in the fields, massive garden, she wore pants UNDER her dress to protect her legs but still had the dress on). There was to be no dancing, no playing card games (not gambling but simply just playing a card game with friends. They were pentecostal and seemed very legalistic. BUT, she bought me my first really nice leather bible. I know she prayed for me as i grew up in a very worldly home. As i grew up and God drew me to Him, i know i also became leagalistic to a degree. I like what you described Sadie, that you leaned legalistic as a child but it was because you were wanting to do what was right and just and to please God. I was like that too. Its hars sometimes. I feel like at times if i am not that way i am AFRAID I myself will do that which is wrong. YES, i cant watch most tv anymore. I used to but now i can't watch tv because i see and hear things in it that others dont...i guess as you say it's the Holy Spirit who has convicted you over whatever is on it. I'll start this off with a "popular" catch phrase in recent years. *Unpopular opinion* {which I'll get back to}. I really feel the hardest thing for humans to do is to get to the root cause of our beliefs and decisions, and be completely honest with ourselves. How this applies to tattoos? We need to really get down to the truth about why we desire to have one. Our biggest need is the need to be loved. How we often pursue that is to do all we can to fit in, so we'll be accepted by a peer group. Questions to ask ourselves: Why do I 'need' a tattoo? Why do I desire one? How will it benefit my witness as a believer? Some will argue they are getting one to honor a loved one, maybe a lost loved one, or to honor God. We're told once we are in Christ, our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor God with every part of our lives, including our bodies. We are also to be in the world, but not "of" it. So again, what is our true desire or need to replicate what the world does - a secular, unsaved world? I can understand those who get one to cover an unsightly scar/injury that is permanent. Otherwise, is there ever a need for one? Is it maybe we are fearful of fully letting go of the secular in that we may be considered odd, weird, even freakish in our beliefs {we will, by many, no matter what}. What I have learned is most get a tatt to be like their peers, and they get an adrenaline rush from it. But soon that excitement wears off and then -- time to get another tatt. And many times it turns into yet another addictive behavior. I know people who cant stop getting them. So do you. And I know believers who fall into this trap. Let's be real with ourselves about the "why" in our own lives. Because the unsaved world will always bring about something new, something more extreme, and they will mainstream it. Do we follow their lead? Maybe now we say "no," but what about the next generation, and the one after that? What will be their adrenaline rush? As for me, Jesus is enough. I already know that's an unpopular opinion. The Gospels tell us so.

    • @rovinnomire9624
      @rovinnomire9624 2 года назад +1

One more thought. I know several who have volunteered how they regret the decision to get a tatt{s} at an earlier time in their lives. And unless you have the ability and desire to go through a painful, expensive removal process, you are stuck with it. Its may be a temporary 'need' but a permanent part of your life.

Sadie, When I was in my early twenties, I believed the Biblical promise that God gave: “If you seek me with your whole heart, you will find me.” I so wanted a close friendship with God as Moses had, and I found him, just as those in the Bible did: I experienced him in tangible ways. God also made his presence known tangibly to the Israelites in a pillar of fire in the OT and in the NT by fire on the day of Pentecost. I went from knowing about God to actually knowing him. In the process of seeking him with my entire heart, I surrendered to God anything that I didn’t have a good conscience over, even my mascara, because the Bible says that if we go against our conscience we are condemned( Romans 14:21-23: 21It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. 22Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. 23And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.). 1 Corinthians 8 and 10 talk about our having freedom but not causing our brother to stumble against their conscience, but rather edifying them with love ( love gives consideration of where another person is in their walk with God. It doesn’t flaunt freedom or have no thought to the weakness of another person.). I feared God and so I surrendered. I had thought I was a Christian, as I sincerely tried to be, but it wasn’t until I surrendered my kingdom ( my own image, which included the desire to be seen as a good, godly woman) and fully placed my faith in the true Jesus fully trusting him and so surrendering all that the Holy Spirit came upon me in a manifest way. It wasn’t being legalistic that caused me to surrender, it was fully trusting Jesus( which came through knowing correct Bible doctrine) and fearing him. When the Holy Spirit came upon me in a manifest way, I then knew peace like never before. Peace was no longer a philosophy or something I had to strive to believe I had; I had peace knowing by experience that Jesus is with me. God makes his presence known daily in manifest ways, though many of us miss it or have not been blessed to receive it yet. Years after receiving the Holy Spirit, God gave back my mascara and gave me freedom in many ways. I now wear mascara and make a solid effort to not look like a cult member, because it’s important as an evangelist. I wear pants but I’m modest about it, because the Bible says the virtuous woman “girds her loins;” this is a reference to how both women( like men) in Biblical times wore robes they fashioned like pants to work. As an evangelist, Paul also became all things to all men, that he might win some. So, with some he would eat “unclean meat” and such while with others he obstained as to not offended their conscience. Our righteousness is found in Christ Jesus alone, but this is not an excuse to live licentiously. We are no longer required to keep the Judaic law, though to be in fellowship with a holy God, faith in his holy goodness beckons us to live morally. God does not fellowship with those who are not holy( who do not fully place their faith in Jesus, which is evidenced by a moral life set apart for him) I still regard the 10 commandments as a standard I should live by, while knowing there is very little the Holy Spirit “burdens “ us with the in the New Covenant in regard to the Jewish laws( Acts 15:29). There is a way to make bloody meat Kosher and so healthy. The law wasn’t meant to burden us but help us, ultimately to lead us to the perfect standard: Jesus. I am an evangelist, so I speak freely about Jesus, as the door is open to do so. The term we give ourselves as women is important. As a woman I am not a “pastor” in the sense that I do not make myself an authority over men in the church. A pastor is simply a shepherd. I do consider myself a “Ewe lamb” type of shepherd, over children and women who are younger than me in the Lord. There are no Biblical references to God calling a woman a pastor. You may be limiting your ministry by calling yourself a pastor instead of an evangelist. It is a blessing to have men in the Lord as a covering over you and your ministry, because the Bible says it wasn’t Adam but Eve who was deceived. I say this as a type of Ewe lamb, but do you have any men in the Lord speaking into your ministry? Do you think a lost man might find it easier to hear what you are saying about Jesus if you didn’t sit with your legs wide open? You could reach lost men for Jesus, if you learned to close your legs. I’m not saying this hatefully, but a novice should not be a pastor lest they become proud( 1 Timothy 3:6). God gave qualifications for pastors for a reason, and it was not only to protect the flock,it was to protect the person trying to take on a role they weren’t qualified for. Culture matters. How we present ourselves as “free in the Lord “ matters and no matter what we say it doesn’t hit home if we are not also considerate. Love is considerate. We are free in the Lord, but being considerate of how others may stumble to even hear the words we say about Jesus is important. As women, we can get arrogant, just like Moses’ sister and think ourselves so spiritual as to say,” Does God only speak to Moses!” Soon after her spiritual arrogance she was struck with leprosy. Every woman pastor I have listened too, tends to have poor health and asks for prayer because the task is so heavy for her. Maybe, Moses’ sister was frustrated with Moses leading her the long way through the wilderness. Maybe she knew astronomy and so knew a quicker, better route to the promised land. As women, we can get arrogant because “ we know” a better route. However, Moses led them to a place of impossibility because he was following God and God wanted to show himself to be God in that wilderness so that they might worship him. God constantly leads us to places of impossibility. A qualification for leadership is humility. In closing, God says that for those who fear him, he will write his covenant on their heart. I never thought of it until now, but that is the type of tattoo that we should all want. When that happens, we don’t need philosophy or a tattoo to train us into being convinced we have peace. Training our minds is important, but the best way to do that is simply knowing Jesus not just knowing about him. May God bless you, Covering you with his blood and presence, as you seek after him with your whole heart.

i really hope you read this, because my thoughts on tattoos are the way they are because of the verse in the Bible that says “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬ KJV and tattoos generally are grouped with people who are not Christians, it puts a negative view on you. In my opinion tattoos may not be wrong, but they appear wrong, therefore they are wrong. so, in my opinion, i believe getting tattoos is wrong. also if you are going to go a few verses above Leviticus 19:28 and explain those then go a verse past where it says in Leviticus 19:29 “Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.” so what are you going to sit there and say “oh its okay for a girl to be “whore”.. no it’s wrong, obviously. so for you to pick out the other verses above Leviticus 19:28 to justify your tattoos i dont think thats right because you didnt address the verse below because you know the one below vs 28 IS wrong. so if you are going to read and explain the verses above to make the tattoo verse not sound so bad then explain all of them, because that verse would not be in the Bible if God was okay with Christians getting tattoos. the Bible is inherent so if it says “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.”
‭Leviticus‬ ‭19‬:‭28‬ ‭KJV then that is what it means there is no justification to that. so say what you want to justify what you did, but its still wrong‬‬. I feel like there are too many compromising Christians in this world and they dumb down the Scriptures to justify their sin and i just dont agree with that.

I got tattoos before I got saved and I remember learning that pagans got tattoos then it was so many rock and roll people who rebelled against God got tattoos. One thing I noticed is most people get tattoos during a hard time of their life. I know that's when I got mine and I can remember other doing so too. So my question is are people running to get tattoos like people run to drinking or food instead of Jesus? So as she is reading in Jeremiah it just reminds me how it sounds like God is saying not to run to any other gods then Him. So God is the same today yesterday and forever. So I know my conviction is that I would not get any more tattoos because when I got them as a sinner it doesn't make sense to get them as a Christian. I have never really judged people getting tats as Christians at least i don't recall. I have questioned a lot but this convo has made me realize to not judge people where they are at. Certain situations or even sins are between them and God.

You don’t have to like tattoos. The point of the video is that biblically for Christ followers tattoos are not sinful. They are a person preference. I’m guessing you don’t follow all 613 of the mosaic law? We are all temples of the Holy Spirit. We should all follow the specific convictions God puts on us individually. And also not judge others according to our own convictions.

@@vanessajanik4623 Biblically that is her interpretation of the Bible... just because she thinks this one statement from God does not hold value today, does not mean that it's true. Jesus said He did not come to abolish the law or the prophets, but to fullfill them - Matthew 5:17 also Jesus was very clear about following the commandments, and those were written in the Old Testament too.

I really enjoy your content and your honesty. I like you, feel that if it feels like a sin to me and I have conviction, then I won't do it. Personally tattoos are something I dont agree with (and there is no need for eveyone to bash MY opinion because we are all entitled to our own.) Although my body is temporary, God has given it to me on loan and I should take care of it while I have it. I also don't have piercings and I watch what I eat for the same reason. I do agree that there are some beautiful pieces of art in tattoos but I just can't see myself with a permanent piece on my body. It is not judgemental or close minded, it is my thoughts and I don't think any less of someone who chooses to get a tattoo. I also agree about the laws of Moses that were done away with but I do believe in keeping the biblical Law of Jesus (10 Commandments). He said He came to FULFILL the law not to DO AWAY with it. I personally live in Freedom through Jesus and show Him my Love by being obedient to Him. Thank you for your thoughts on the subject and being real. ♡♡

    Dear Sadie,
I watched your youtube video on the topic of: ”Is it okay for christians to get tattoos”. I have taken a look at two of your videos before, but this one I watched entirely.
Firstly, I want to say that I want to apporach to you respectfully and not judgementally. The Word of God tells us in Matthew 7:1-2 not to judge so that we wouldn’t be judged, but it sayes also in John. 7:24 that judge the right judgement. This certainly means that our judgement always ought to be after God’s opinion and not by our want, motives, or after our likes and dislikes. So in other words, when we know we have been with God and we have heard Him, we can also speak His Word to others. When we know whom we serve, we have authority in love and truth.
You read the most important scriptures concerning tattoos on the youtube video. God indeed told the Israelites not to take skin pictures. I also compeletely understand your point that we are not living under the law of sin and death but under the law of the spirit of life. This however, doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t read the Old Testament at all because it gives us the foundation of the New. And it reveals beautiful types of the truths of Jesus Christ and who He is.
What you didn’t cover very much was the importance of the blood. Blood is the most important element to God because in the blood of Jesus Christ is our salvation. In His pure, spotless, perfect blood we are saved. That is why there are only 4 speficic things that the apostles set in The acts of the apostles chapter 15:29.: “That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.” This is the King James Version. So these 4 things are denied but everything else God tells in 1. Corinthians 10:23: ”All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify me not.”
So definitely this brings us to a pkace where we need to understand that there are peripherial truths concerning the Word of God. There are ABSOLUTE truths that we need to defend because they have to do with salvation. For example the fact that in the blood of Jesus Christ is our salvation. Then there are dogmas that are linked to one’s conscience. Let’s take an example of a preacher man who smoked cigarettes for the rest of his life but God still used him mightily. Do I believe smoking is right? No. Do I deny that God used him? NO. So I believe that there are things God doesn’t always put His finger into our lives of, but when He does, we have to hear and be obedient.
Even though we don’t live under the law anymore, still God doesn’t anywhere in the New Testament promote tattoos. Their origin is in darkness and we are supposed to be the children of light and to have nothing to do with darkness. We cannot take things from darkness and use them for christian purposes, even if we meant good with them.
I was glad that in the end of your video you said that if on one’s conscience tattoos are not right, then simply go before God and repent. But I believe tattoos are not of God. I believe it because they have to do with the blood. The ink goes to your blood and because the blood is such an important element to God, He wants us to keep ours also clean. I see your point on: ”I didn’t take a tattoo of a skull or of a snake but of what God has done in my life.” I see. But it doesn’t make it right. Also there are things concerning the laws of God that still do exist and touch us christians even though not all of them do. Jesus said: ”I didn’t come to destroy the law but to fulfill it.” As you took an example of those beards etc. Of course God doesn’t look at those things when He looks at a newborn christian but He wants us all the time deeper and deeper into His closeness and holiness and I believe that this is a truth that He is wanting to reveal to you, that tattoos are not okay for christians, because why would otherwise God deny them in Leviticus and when we take the importance of blood, it is obvious that we should be separate from the ways of this world. Not in every way, but in every way that God tells us and shows us. And this is what He Has shown to me and I pray that you could also see this truth because your videos touch a lot of christian young ladies especially.
I am not saying that you are a false teacher. But I am saying that in this matter of tattoos you have compromised with the world and when you compromise with the world, the line is always easier to break. I am not saying this because I believe you are IN the world. I simply say you have made a compromise.
Let me give you another point of view. The word ”tattoo” comes originally from the language of Tahiti meaning ”to mark”. The Word of God tells us that God wants to seal us by the seal of the Holy Spirit. This seal is spiritual. It is not physical. But because it is spiritual, it affects our inside and from the beauty of Jesus Christ people can see the seal of the Holy Spirit upon us as the representatives of Jesus Christ. People don’t need to see skin pictures of ”Jesus things” to notice that we are God’s own. They will know it when we come to the room. They will know it from what 2. Corinthians tell us in chapter 2:15. The sweet savour of Christ. It is different from the world and the world is wanting to see Christ like nothing else. The Romans 8:22 sayes the creation is groaning to see Christ. Groaning to see Christ in Christ’s own people. If we don’t set clear standards of the Word of God then people have nothing to come to us for. They want something different. But let us remember that Jesus was not liked by everybody. He had a group of haters: the pharisees, the self-righteous religious people who wanted him killed. So we are going to have those haters around us when we speak the truth of the Word of God. I am really wanting to tell you that my message to you is not at all phariseecal. I am glad that God has given you gifts and He has allowed you to be in a place where you can make a change. This is why I’m approaching to you. Because I felt on my heart to share this with you, that you could come to a even deeper freedom of God. His freedom lies in obedience to His Word and to His Holy Spirit who has promised to lead us into all truth. John. 16:13.
God created us as human beings to be images of His son Jesus Christ. We have to BE those images, not try to be them and not to make images. But to BE the image of Christ. I believe some christians take tattoos because they want to make a declaration of their faith or else but we have to be that declaration.
The enemy always has a counterfeit to God’s original. And I have understood that your passion is to ”live original”. Good. I believe tattoos are the enemy’s counterfeit to God’s seal of the Holy Spirit. God also said in Exodus 20:1-3 to not have other gods. Everything that steals our attention and time from God is a false god. God uses Word, enemy uses image. He uses the media, the appealing things of this world to deceive people away from God’s original.
Dear Sadie, I hope and pray that you hear my message. I hope you understand and don’t get offended. For offense closes our hearts and eyes and it becomes a hindrance to what God is wanting to do in our lives. I pray that the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to this truth and takes you deeper and uses you to minister to people sharing His truth, not by what people want and what you want, but by what God wants. First of all we are His ministers, then ministers of people.

    • @BoATebbetts33

Sorry but not biblically sound. Ms./Mrs. Huff uses the Scriptures to justify her getting a tattoo (as expressing who she is,) that it identifies her because of the reasons why she got them. That borders on "Situational Ethics", not on "rightly dividing(handling accurately) the Word of Truth". llTim.2:15. She even contradicts herself and her position that this commandment comes from the Old Covenant/ the "Law" and that we are no longer under the Law because of what Yeshua Messiah has done for us at the Cross WHEN she says ""that doesn't mean we can dismiss all of the Law." So which ones do we Keep, Ms. Sadie??? Her mother, Korie does a better job of "contextural referencing". Her explanation that we don't keep (some of) the other Levitical laws listed there falls short because what about the ones further down in verses 35 & 36 about honesty in measures (having just balances, scales & weights. (i.e. cheating & lying to people). And Sadie, how about verse 12 in Romans 7, "So then the Law is Holy, and the Commandment is holy and righteous and good." Yeshua said, "If you love me, Keep my commandments." Hmmm, which ones LORD?(🥰) The Old Covenant is subsumed by the New Covenant! I'm sure you or your mom knew that my Jewish brothers call Father's Word "The Law" and any Rabbi always reminds his people that they are "people of The Book!" More so called Christians should be the same. And yes Danica, "righteousness exalts a nation!" and we sure need more of that!!! I understand that you, Korie & Sadie were trying to explain that "the just shall live by faith" and "Abram believed the LORD, and it was credited to him as righteousness". Gen 15:6. (Berean Stnd. Bible) Everyone of us "True Jew"s" knows that we are saved by grace through faith. It is a gift from Adonai and not a result of our works." Eph.2:8&9 and again, we understand that the Old Covenant is SUBSUMED by the New Covenant. I will agree with the two of you on the fact that most tattoos are an outward expression of an inward condition. And we know that "man looks at the outward appearance but the LORD looks at the heart". Finally, I do have a tattoo but you can't see it! My heart is tattooed with the Cross of Calvary!!! ♥ For the Word of God is meant to be written on...

"Don't you know that your bodies are a temple of the holy spirit. Therefore honor God with your bodies." I personally don't think it's "good" for Christians to get tattoos on their bodies. I think getting a tattoo makes you appear weak, because it means you're more susceptible to peer pressure. So I personally wouldn't seek to marry a woman with even one tattoo. Yes, even one. But I know the Lord convicts each person differently.
And I am reminded of what Paul said about the people back in his day arguing over whether it was better to eat meat, or not eat meat. Let each man be convinced in his own mind. And don't put a stumbling block in front of the "weaker" brother or sister in Christ.

I agree sin is sin.. and people have their each and own convictions by the Holy spirit and need to work out their own salvation. This is the problem with the western church today we are so caught up in the things of this world such as this. While Christians in other countries are facing persecution and death not having the luxuries that we have but their simple faith in Jesus Christ is more than enough. We are to comfortable and complacent here in America that we are having conversations about should we get tattoos or not is just silly. These are the end days and we should be keeping our eyes on Jesus more than ever and for his Holy Spirit to anoint us to bring in the harvest and frankly having tattoos is not going to do that.

  • @alfredomaldonado6614
    @alfredomaldonado6614 Год назад

First of the very first question we should ask about tattoos(tattos that are modified into your bodies and also damage it and alter it) is weather or not that is a sin, and if it is it doesn’t matter weather you got the tatto because you wanted to glorify God at the end of the day it’s a sin.
Second point is that it is important to note weather or not that mark that Jesus has is a tatto or if it’s just a print or if it’s just an overlay like the cereal tattoos, we cannnot deny that these two types of tattos are completely different and that’s why almost anyone would not let a child get a tattoo.
Once again before we decide we want to do something to glorify God we need know weather or not what we are doing if wrighgtious, good not a sin, because at the end of the day the means don’t justify the ends. We seen many times in the Bible when people desobeyed God and use it as an excuse and say for example oh I was doing it because I wanted to offer it to you as a sacrifice take for instance the story in 1. Samuel
    1 Samuel 15:22
    New International Version
    22 But Samuel replied:
“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as in obeying the Lord?
To obey is better than sacrifice,
and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
And for last let’s not commit the mistake of saying that if your going to quote Leviticus on tattoos you should also be aware of the other verses and laws like for example eating sea food and wearing two types of cloth ect ect, to start we need to understand that in the Old Testament there were tree types of laws the ceremonial, the civil and the moral. In regards to the moral that will always be a sin to desobey and it will always stand no matter the time and no matter the culture or place. When it comes to the other laws as I mentioned those are civil laws but getting tattoos for the dead is clearly a moral law unless of course you disagree and know think that it’s okay to get tattoos for the dead, which by the way is very common in Mexico where I am from.
Also let’s not for get that before the law of tattoos in Leviticus it also mentions other laws which I highly doubt some of you will believe they are no longer countable to us Christian’s in this time.
    Leviticus 19:26-29
    New International Version
26 “‘Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.
“‘Do not practice divination or seek omens.
27 “‘Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.
28 “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.
29 “‘Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.
I my self am not 100% sure weather it is a wrong or a sin for Christians to get tattoos and that’s exactly why I would never get one and why I would never encourage someone else to get one, also like I said if it’s true that Christians or Judes never got tattoos troughout history even though tattoos have existed trought many times and cultures I believe that should be enough for anybody to have the conviction that maybe we should not get tattoos. I would never convince somebody or just tell somebody that it’s okay to do something just because of my conviction or personal opinion where if I were wrong whatever it is I said that was ok turned to be a sin. What I know for sure is that it’s better to simply not get a tattoo and if your not 100% sure don’t get one at the end of the day it is only a whim.
On Leviticus there are always two types of interpretations
    1. Cuttings and tattoos for the dead are prohibited.
    2. Cuttings for the dead are prohibited and tattoos in general are also prohibited.
Although I confess that I am not sure which one is the right one I am more convinced of the second one since we can all agreed that cuttings and tattoos are not the same which leviticus clearly distinguishes and also separates.
Here is a video and website so you could get information form a different perceptive than yours, This doesn’t mean I agree with everything they say this is just so you can hear a different point of view.

When my mom tries to get on me about my tattoos with scripture I tell her I'm not getting anything offensive and it doesn't affect my walk with God

This is quite incorrect. We do not own our body. Our body belongs to God.
If you lent something to someone and they completely changed it, would they approve of it ?

I was in an accident and have significant scarring on my body. Is God mad that I changed it? No. The Holy Spirit is in dwelling, and this body is for a short season until restored in heaven.

Hey, I’d like to ask you a question, do you think it’s wrong to wear makeup? Pierce our ears? Shave our legs? Cut our hair? Paint our nails? Because all those things change our appearances.

Good morning. What about when in the scripture it says the body is the temple? Gods creation

You know God literally encouraged people
In the Bible to create monuments/landmarks so they could remember what God had done for them, and so that they could have a story to tell their children of what God had done for them?? This idea of having something to remember what God has done for you is completely and 100% Biblical. Look it up

We also pierce our ears, dye our hair, wear makeup, and paint our nails. So if tattoos are wrong then so should these things be as well.

My tattoos are my reminders I'm a survivor of abuse and my son survived a traumatic brain surgery. In my opinion it's the heart of the person God's given me my designs as they are my testimony. (I've not gotten a chance to listen to the podcast)
