I've had tattoos your 1991. I was estranged from Jesus. After my faith, I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. I removed the tattoo knowing no one had told me to do it, but I was careful not to cause trouble for others. It was something I didn't want to keep on my hands. I thank Jesus for sanctifying us with His grace.

I will share my story. I have like six or more tattoos. I renewed my relationship with God. I was gonna finish my back tattoo. I heard him clear as day say, "Go and sin no more". I knew he wanted me to not get anymore. I was happy,but a little sad. I obeyed, but every few months I get tempted,(which I know is satan). I even had a dream from God about not getting another one. The dream was, I was in a dark alley,and this weird,extra sexual woman came over to me. I ended up on the ground,laying on my stomach with my shirt up. She started rubbing right where I started my rose vine tattoo. She said, "You should finish it,"or something like that. I got up and was leaving, this man grabbed me and threw me on a car,he was trying to rape me. I woke up,but was told by the Holy spirit that tattoos bring the spirit of lust.😫😭😭 I don't listen to her,but was looking for some videos on testimonials about tattoos. This is another confirmation to NEVER get another tat.🤷♀️
And I believe you don't have to write love on your feet to remind yourself you've to walk in love because love starts all in our heart not from a tattoo
Walking in love should be automatic. Don't need any sinful tattoos for this. When we claim the Holy Spirit lives inside of us. One of the best ways to walk in love is to walk in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, therefore, He has the same nature as the Father. If the Bible says “God is love” (1 John 4:8) that means the Holy Spirit is love as well. So, if we walk in the Spirit we will be walking in the nature of God.

I have admired your teachings for years. You saved my marriage. There may not be a problem with you getting a tattoo. However the problem is getting them and causing weaker Christian's to falter in their faith. Paul taught that he wouldn't eat meat sacrificed to idols for this reason. He didn't go into an idol restaurant and come out bragging to the world that he just had supper there. The thing is that so many who were on edge will now abuse the tattoo parlor and use this message as justification. Similar to those who get drunk and use Paul's reference to drinking alcohol for the stomach's sake as justification. I think we need to know the mind and will of God concerning us as individuals when it comes to these issues. I am not for or against it. I wouldn't get one as I don't think I need anything written on my body as a reminder of what should be written on my heart and I don't trust ink going into my blood stream either.

12/23/24: Got my 1st tattoo this year at 70 yrs young. Like Joyce Meyer, I prayed and prayed and did it as an honor to my Father God; he answered me and I love my butterfly; have no regrets.
She has forgotten that the Bible warns teachers that they will be judged more strictly. Only God know the number of young people who would follow her with this and she forgot that if eating meat will cause her brother to fall, she shouldn't eat it. It's just sad. Truly we are in the last days.

Listen to these people cheering for a 79 year old woman who tells you that it's OK that she tattooed love on her ankle because she says it reminds her to walk in love ...it's just so unbelievable.
She can do whatever she wants with her body. The point is too many Christians judge tattooed ppl before even talking to them. We worship God in Spirit as God is Spirit. And there are so many ppl in the world not saved who have tattoos. They need Jesus too. The disgusting attitude of judgement that so many Christians have over these trivial things is why the church is seen as hypocrites and liars. Sis Joyce i absolutely love your ministry and you have blessed me on countless occasions with your sermons. However on this one i will have to stand aside as i feel that our skins are carved absolutely without blemish since it is carved direclty from our Father's hands through His Son. To place tatoos on our skins is a defamation of it. The first person to receive a tatoo was in fact Cain after he had killed his brother Abel. God marked his skin in shame, not in righteousness. Be carefull whom you pull down on this one. The devil wants us to hate our flesh, so that the very first thing he told Adam and Eve was to cloth themeselves as their skin is atrocious to him. This was to prevent procreation as satan hates when men are born since another image of God enters into the world every time a man is born. 5:30... yeah, but what about God's opinion? "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord" (Leviticus 19:28). That passage in Isaiah 49:16 is talking about the scars on Jesus' hand. It's His way of letting us know He can't ever forget about us. It's got nothing to do with giving us the green light to ignore Leviticus 19:28.

I hope I don't get misunderstood... I have no issues with Tattoos or people with it. My concern is using scripture to justify the act. That's where I feel the challenge is. It could be done to honour God but the greatest sign of honour is obedience. Even Uzzah tried to stop the Ark of the Covenant from falling from the cart but bore the consequences. A noble act done wrongly. As leaders it's important to way our actions because we legitimise a lot of things for our followers. If its only about the heart then it would get to a point that no one will be identify what is Christlike and what is not. If you want a tattoo by all means get one. But using it as a proof of your love for Jesus doesn't really mean much... You could always print on a T-shirt or create a poster for it. Get things printed on your shoes... There is so much I can say but I really hope I'm understood.

I agree. People with tattoos are loved and cherished by God but leadership is so important to God because of how much influence it can have. I've always wanted a tatoo but at the same time I need to be sure I'm not dishonouring God or trying to fit into my culture as a millennial.

Actually, there is scripture to back up what she did, Isaiah 44:5, but people who have their own opinion and convictions regarding such things won't understand anyway. That's why she said what she said. Since I'm typically objective, I will say there are several other scriptures that talk about not making or getting markings on your body. Many of them reference one another and pertain to the rules given to the children of Israel while they were in the wilderness, New Testament scriptures referring back to the Old Testament, and there are others that specifically are addressed to the Levites and Levitical priests, back then and now, but people totally disregard context when they want to apply legalistic rules and regulations for the purpose of control and manipulation. I say let God tell you what HE requires of you and allow the Holy Spirit to bend your heart toward the will of God for your life and convict you through love accordingly.

See the problem with Christians is they take a Bible verse here and they take a Bible verse there, and they decide to slap it around and judge people with it. I will share my story. I have like six or more tattoos. I renewed my relationship with God. I was gonna finish my back tattoo. I heard him clear as day say, "Go and sin no more". I knew he wanted me to not get anymore. I was happy,but a little sad. I obeyed, but every few months I get tempted,(which I know is satan). I even had a dream from God about not getting another one. The dream was, I was in a dark alley,and this weird,extra sexual woman came over to me. I ended up on the ground,laying on my stomach with my shirt up. She started rubbing right where I started my rose vine tattoo. She said, "You should finish it,"or something like that. I got up and was leaving, this man grabbed me and threw me on a car,he was trying to rape me. I woke up,but was told by the Holy spirit that tattoos bring the spirit of lust.😫😭😭 I don't listen to her,but was looking for some videos on testimonials about tattoos. This is another confirmation to NEVER get another tat.🤷♀️

Sis Joyce i absolutely love your ministry and you have blessed me on countless occasions with your sermons. However on this one i will have to stand aside as i feel that our skins are carved absolutely without blemish since it is carved direclty from our Father's hands through His Son. To place tatoos on our skins is a defamation of it. The first person to receive a tatoo was in fact Cain after he had killed his brother Abel. God marked his skin in shame, not in righteousness. That passage in Isaiah 49:16 is talking about the scars on Jesus' hand. It's His way of letting us know He can't ever forget about us. I hope I don't get misunderstood... I have no issues with Tattoos or people with it. My concern is using scripture to justify the act. That's where I feel the challenge is.
It could be done to honour God but the greatest sign of honour is obedience. Even Uzzah tried to stop the Ark of the Covenant from falling from the cart but bore the consequences. A noble act done wrongly.
As leaders it's important to way our actions because we legitimise a lot of things for our followers. If its only about the heart then it would get to a point that no one will be identify what is Christlike and what is not.
If you want a tattoo by all means get one. But using it as a proof of your love for Jesus doesn't really mean much... You could always print on a T-shirt or create a poster for it. Get things printed on your shoes...

Why is getting a tattoo any different? How does getting a tattoo prove you belong to God versus wearing your cross pendant or having a bumper sticker? This is a confusing message. I thought we were to separate ourselves from the world not become like them.
