- Poltergeist is a linear induction motor (LIM) launch coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Built by Premier Rides, this coaster has a devilishly twisted layout commonly referred to as a spaghetti bowl. The park repainted and rethemed the coaster for the 2021 season, making it better than ever.

I love how much the park cares about presentation. It really is the Knotts of the Six Flags chain. That attention to detail really elevates this park to being more than just a ride collection.

These Premier LIM Coasters are insane! Joker's Jinx is probably one of the most underrated coasters out there!
That and flight of fear I also really enjoyed
They are quite good.
I'm one of the biggest fans of this ride. It's great to see the park invest in it with the new theming. The only downside is that it now has a longer line. Before the upgrade, it seemed to always be a walk-on, but I do love the upgrade. But those old OTSR look horrible, especially with the quick changes in direction on this ride. I'm so glad I never rode it when it had those.
I'm glad I missed the OTSRs.
Couple notes from an SA resident:
1) the park will sometimes open this later in the day on slow days, so rope drop may not always be an option (it’ll be listed on the wait time screens if this is the case).
2) if you’re a larger or taller guest, be warned that these are maybe the most restrictive restraints for a thrill coaster in the park (depends how the ongoing revamp of Wonder Woman’s restraints goes). I’m 6’4 and ~290 lbs and have had to wait at the exit a couple times while the rest of my party rode. Even when I was 30/40 lbs lighter, I fit, but at the expense of my lower legs. To add to the fun, far as I know, there is no test seat.
I agree the restraints are brutal if you have tall legs.
Gotta say, there's a charm to the ride being outdoors. I probably rank this ride higher than most, as these rides have some of the snappiest launches around!
The launch is solid.
That LIM launch is also REALLY loud, and it can give you a good jump scare if you haven’t ridden a Premier launch coaster before. Combined with the screams from the riders I would say it further adds to the theme.

I loved this ride. My #4 in the park over Diabolical and Superman, and it challenges Freeze as my favorite Premier in Texas
its way better than Diabolical. I think that Diabolical with its excessively long queue, terrible vest restraints, and extremely short layout make it the 2nd worst B&M ive ridden.

I didn't ride it but I did ride Flight of Fear once in the back and loved it, but only rode it once during the 4 days I was at Kings island due to it's long lines, and was the best coaster at K. I. I should have ridden more often than I did. Thanks for posting!
I prefer this to Flight of Fear for the better pacing.
@@CanobieCoaster I have no doubt that's true. I agree, but I've never ridden it. I also only got one ride on Flight of Fear and it was the 1st ever ride for me at Kings Island, for the 4 days I was there, which romanticizes that one experience for me.
Its crazy how much more I liked this than flight of fear at KI. The midcourse slamming to a halt was pretty wack.
Agreed. Also, this being outdoors makes it so much better, as you need to be able to see yourself weaving throughout the track and supports to fully appreciate the ride.
The pacing is much better here.
I went on this for the first time yesterday and had sooo much fun, i love launch coasters like velocicoater, and im glad i tried this one!! that cobra roll to start off is such an adrenaline rush! that corkscrew at the end too!! SFFT has such good themeing!!! dr diabolical is pretty much disney/universal level theming!!! thank you so much for making this video i love learning about coasters, especially ones so near me!!!

I’ve started to notice six flags has started to put actually original theming into their rides, for example the new Six Flags America steam town with this guy named professor screamore pretty intresting but six flags seems to be going for theming now
I like the addition of theming.
With the addition of the new theming, it’s a really solid night ride. Very fitting.
I haven't done it at night yet.

How does these rides compare to the Rock n’RollerCoaster clones by Vekoma (purely judging the coasters themselves, not their theming)? They look somewhat similar…
It's not even close for me, the better pacing, better forces, faster transitions, more interesting layouts AND the lap bars make these so much better
This model is fairly similar but unfortunately rougher. Poltergeist is a bit smoother in my opinion but the Rock N Rollercoaster model is still smoother.
I don't know how this could be done but if there was any way to make the on ride experience blend seamlessly with the new queue then that would be amazing. But I'm not even sure if Disney or Universal could pull that off well unless they were really spending some serious money.
I'm a big fan of Rock n Roller Coaster, but it's much rougher & has far worse restraints. I also think Poltergeist is a bit better paced. It slows a little in the middle, but not quite as much, and Poltergeist has it's craziest moments at the end, with the low to the ground section leading to the corkscrew.
I think this has better pacing in the 2nd half.

I think Flight of Fear (KD) works with the brake where an outdoor version wouldn't, you hear the music and it's dark. Launches hard, later you get some float in the corkscrew, while Jinx has it in the cobra roll instead.

I think it’s one more update to being top tier. This thing needs to be an indoor coaster. It’s a haunted ride so it only makes sense to do that.
I'm fine with it outdoors.
At least the launch should be indoors though.
