Pod, Meet Judith! 😂
If there's one thing I know every deck needs, it's a commander. I generally tend to gravitate towards the types of commanders who flood the board with tokens such as Krenko, Mob Boss.
I like comedy of the out-of-context "because you're a liar" from Mia lol
It's extra funny cause Beezy never lies
Alternative graveyard hate is Stone of Erch, it exiles dying creatures, and for two mana exiles target graveyard and draws, it is surprisingly good because a lot of creatures have when x dies, this does not happen.
Also, for anybody that wants to just run 33 lands, try to have a curve that effectively ends at 2 (this is not real advice, unlike the rock)
I run that card too I think it could be a Include in 85% of decks because also Replaces itself
I didnt even know this card somehow. Thank you so much, this is perfect for my meta
Highly underrated card. Great grave hate
I agree on Rakdos Charm, but it’s still a really funny follow-up when someone else plays Triumph of the Horde.
Mythos of Snapdax is criminally underplayed as a one-sided board wipe. The Mythos cycle as a while is actually super underappreciated.
@@coryledwitch6492 You know can have just have an opinion and argue that in a friendly manner? You don't have to go full snarky/arrgoance with that "ummmm.... firstly", then not even have a "secondly" and then really your argument basically boils down to "it's a 3-colored spell" and "the effect "isn't worth it".
1. If one mode is very playable, then it doesn't matter how bad the other modes on the card are. Just treat it as the card that you'll only ever cast at that one mode. Or are you dismissing every single card with kicker because the non-kicker mode is boring?
2. being 3-color specific doesn't make a card "bad" in exactly those decks that CAN play it. What would be the argument here? That the 3-colored Ultimatums are all bad because they're restricted to 3-colors? WWBR is not a dificult mana cost to pay at the time that spell is relevant unless you have super budget mana bases and even then you're not casting Mythos of Snapdax turn 3 after your turn 2 arcane signet because it's a mid to late game card.
3. It's basically the card Tragic Arrogance (which was featured in this very video) for one mana less, if you're in WRB. It's certainly not a "smelly dumbster fire.
@@coryledwitch6492Hey, couple of things. Whilst I'm sure people appreciate your opinions and advice as an experienced player, it's important to remember that they're still your opinions and are not objectively correct. Also, the way you portrayed your points came across as a little arrogant and rude towards the, presumably, less experienced people in this thread.
On the "Mythos of" cycle, I've played a couple of them and have found them to be both fun and effective. Objectively speaking, they're more mana-efficient, but colour-intensive equivalents to similar effects (e.g. Mythos of Snapdax vs. Tragic Arrogance), with less powerful modes that can be used in cases where you can't meet the colour requirements properly. They're definitely playable in decks that can support the colour requirements (which is becoming increasingly easy with increased fixings options), and outshine their counterparts by being more mana-efficient. Seeing as they're cheap to pick up, they're worth giving a go if you think they'll fit your deck, or just like the art/flavour etc.
@@coryledwitch6492 You seriously need to find out about paragraphs. Also you're acting like I felt stepped on. I'm not the original poster here, you were simply being a bit of a dick to that guy comming in with that "ummmm, actually"-attitude. Nothing about your opinion was "humble" so maybe reconsider using that word.
Also, I didn't say that you didn't have an opinion, you obviously do. You were missing convincing ARGUMENTS to support that opinion.
Again:
It makes zero sense say that mythos at 4 mana is somehow complete trash vs a card that does the exact same thing but at 5 mana and comes recommended, for the sole reason that it can only be played in Mardu. Paying 4 mana instead of 5 to get the same effect as a card that is considered playable is not "jumping through hoops" maybe it is, if Mr. "33 Years of Magic" is still playing with 30 basic lands in his EDH-Decks?
What hoops are you jumping through besides trying to not having a terrible manabase after "33 Years" of magic?
And somehow "goes into any deck" always beats "restricted by color identity" in your head. By that same logic, Noble Hierarch is worse than Llanorwar Elves because Hierarch can only be played in Bant. And because of that I shouldn't play hierarch in... Bant? I guess "Terminate" is also worse than "Murder", because you can only play it in Rakdos and Murder costs a Mana more but can be played in every black deck. Why jump through hoops and play Terminate when you can just play murder! 🤡
Also Alpha came out in 1993. If you have played this game for 33 years (checks calendar), it's either the year 2026 or you were designing this game together with Richard Garfield, or you're really bad at math. I'm guessing it's the last option, since you seem to think "4-mana card trash, 5 mana card okay." The other option is of course that you're simply lying and that "having experience" somehow counts as an argument. (It actually doesn. 😱)
Also I didn't even discuss the other Mythos cards (and at no point claimed all of them were great. Why are you making things up in your head?) because your arguments were irrelevant in the first place. All the other mythos cards might as well be terrible, but not for ANY of the reasons you mentioned.
"Regeneration still exists". -> Okay boomer. Great job at now moving goal posts.
Besides Wrath of God not even being a relevant comparision when, in this very video, they were talking about -> asymetrical boardwipes
@coryledwitch6492 You seriously need to find out about paragraphs. Also you're acting like I felt stepped on. Nothing about your opinion was "humble" so maybe reconsider using that word.
Also, I didn't say that you didn't have an opinion, you obviously do. The issue is that you failed to produce convincing ARGUMENTS to support that opinion.

Card draw, removal, ramp, commander theme are my 4 things it's how I split my deck. If any of the first 3 link to theme they get replaced with theme version even if less optimal for the sake of synergy.
very helpful for a novice like me that is discovering the wolrd of mtg, thanks!
If you can give your creatures indestructible, a normal board wipe turns into a one-sides board wipe
why use two cards when you can use one?
Ashiok is great, in lower power if they say "i'll take that back"
that's free information baby, that's EVEN BETTER
No, it isn't better than straight up fizzling their cultivate, or cracked fetch
@@yavivanov6650 knowing what is in someone's hand for free is in fact better, yes. I don't see how you don't see where this conversation is going but you gotta start
@@yavivanov6650 I clearly wasn't saying it's better than wasting the search.
Every deck I play uses Mimic vat.
Any boardwipe or targeted kill removal, i can make a token of that amazing critter every turn.
So much value.
36:30 i-i-i-i i play that card *cries*
Westvale Abby is an underrated land in Aristocrats
1: Sol Ring
2: Mana Crypt
3: Ancient Tomb
4: City of Traitors
NEEDING noncombat wincons is a powerlevel thing. I can play through a ghostly prison but if you bring a glacial casm or constant mist either of us is at the wrong table.
I play multiple symmetrical board wipes in a lot of decks... but I also have multiple ways to make all my stuff indestructible, phased out, or otherwise protected from those board wipes. then on top of that I also try to include any asym ones that make sense.
So what do you have in your deck except creatures, protection and multiple wraths!?
I run Soul Guide Lantern in my Silas/Toggo deck and its a lowkey all-star. No one likes to block deathtouch normally, and they *definitely* dont want to deal with it if I can recur Lantern over and over. Its hardly the most impactful card to recur with Silas but just the threat of being able to do it makes people play around it.
I am definitely looking forward to more gameplay! Maybe some more (budget) commander?
I personally find its best to start play testing with 36-38 lands depending on your curve. There are decks Ive had that end up being really good at 35 lands because I have plenty of either card draw, ramp or cycle lands to make those land top-decks hurt less.
Not a board wipe but I am having a good time with Asinine Antics, the option to play at instant speed is really nice.
I feel like people aren't ready to hear this, but if graveyard hate is something every deck should run because any deck can potentially use the gy then every deck (that can) should be running artifact hate. Not just the destroy effects either as that barely solves the issue. I mean collector ouphe effects where it's never getting used in the first place.
Chandra's Ignition can pretty easily be a sorta one-sided boardwipe too. Turn a creature into a mini-[or max!] Skirk Fire Marshal and then have something to beat face.
I absolutely love that displacer kitten Mat, I feel like every deck needs a blink or phase effect as well, because if you don’t have a way to defend against removal or counters you can at least protect stuff
The Moxfield ad was perfectly timed lol well done!!
Bamboozled as always!
I guessed 9:19 for mox field.
Nailed it...😅
I have so many reminders for the whatnot stream so I can get a Marchesa playmat. I can’t wait
Thank you for the logo version I’m going to pick one up for sure! Very very allergic to kitties thusly I’m no fan of them lol.
1. Fast Mana
2. Ramp
3. Interaction
4. Card Draw
On asymmetrical board wipes, if my playgroup hates Cyclonic Rift, then ill just use stuff like Wave Goodbye and other one sided things because even tho they're not Cyc-rift, they're almost as devastating.
Also those mats are adorable, definitely getting one next paycheck. Might even proxy a Queen Amber
I had someone scapeshift while i had aven mindscensor out lol
In dragon decks the flippt invasion of tarkir is als a great way to win without combat dmg. Every dragon that attacks deals 2 to any target
What’s your thought on using protection spells in conjunction with a boardwipe to make a symmetrical effect one sided? Example. In a Boros deck using Clever concealment and Blasphemous act together? Sure you won’t always have them together but because they can be discounted I try to pair these types of cards when possible.
in dragon decks, wrathful red dragon + blaphsomus act is my alt win con
also with wrathful red raptor in dino decks. i love the wrathful things
My favorite Purphoros play is in a Krenko deck. Wait for ~10 goblins, no huge threat yet... boom, all the sudden everyone's taking 20 damage.
I run Ajani, Strength of the Pride in my Lyra Dawnbringer deck and it has some work. One sided board wipes are amazing. I'm glad someone gave some love to Winds of Abandon. They won't live to use those lands they're getting. :p
I love when people play 1 sided wipes. Especially when they don’t mention them during the Rule 0 discussion.
It makes it so easy to get the Rule 0 restrictions thrown out the window to a significant extent for Game 2 & onward, without coming across like the bad guy.
A lot of people I’ve run into take having your deck set up to either protect all your stuff through a bunch of symmetrical wipes, or playing asymmetrical ones like the control version of playing Infect, for lack of a better comparison. It’s not pseudo-cEDH’ing like Thoracle’ing, but it definitely sends the message “This isn’t a janky friendly game.”
@@shawnpanzegraf5642 idk what you're talking about, sorry.
@@TiltedSquare You know how a lot of pods get a bit overly picky on what they’re willing to play against, and that all gets folded into the Rule 0 conversation?
It’s been my experience that people loosen up about what “Isn’t fun to play against” when certain strategies get employed.
For example, an Urabrask deck popping off turn 5 and carrying out a successful pod-kill.
If the other couple people playing are willing to play against Mr. Machinegun again, they generally won’t fuss about the game shifting to more cutthroat stuff being permissible.
in arena i started to run ruinous ultimatum in my brawl walker deck because sometimes i dont want to destroy my stuff and hitting it off of golos is so funny
The editing is so good. Please stay funny.
You mean queen Meow-chesa?
We actually do mean that
@@NitpickingNerds 😂
Is it just me or did it seem like Mia skipped the usual line of "don't try to guess where the ad is, you won't be able to" and went straight to "because you're a liar"
she absolutely did lol
In raff weatherlight stalwart i have one symmetrical board wipe in ondu inversion then like 5 mostly one sided boardwipes. Perplexing test sucks it's never good. Board wipes that fully remove the things are much better.
My only board wipes are warp world, thieves auction, scrambleverse and confusion in the ranks.
I hate putting lands in my decks, i realized that most of my decks are around 32-33 lands because of how much I hate getting mana flooded, and I usually use decks that love one mana mana dorks
6:22 I play this in
Ratadrabik of Urborg because my creature will come back
Mycosynth lattice, anzrag's rage is a good combo
1 mana answers to soul ring is mandatory imo
Nah. Just direct table threat assessment towards the person who sticks it. That's usually sufficient.
I always run Rakdos charm in decks with those colors and the people I play with know it. If they ever trigger a loop to make infinite creature tokens I'm always like "how many tokens are you making? What's your life at?". Even if I don't have it in hand they have to be careful about how many they make.
Definitely need more one sided board wipes in my avacyn deck
Haha love everyone at npn the old and new. Fun I remember your dislike of rakdos charm. So I have made sure in my even fun like Voltron deck to have a plan B or even c. I remember someone locked combat out. So I had impact tremors and a etb combo so I pinged them for 3 damage like 15 times on my turn.
Any tips for making a Kels aristocrats deck less slow and more fun to play against?
1. Jeweled lotus
2. Free spells
3. Infinite 2 card combos
4. Tutors that make up more than 10% of your deck
The way to lose friend in casual pod
I wouldn't run Winds of Abandon in my group, at least. IK WOULD want parity or choice in my board wipes, however.
Ruinous ultimatum says: win the game
I will throw in graveyard hate when the pieces have other synergy for my deck. Playing artifacts? I will add soul guide lanter sure but I’m not going to just slot in a random graveyard hate piece outside a bog or scavenging grounds. 1-2 cards for that purpose is unlikely to come into play unless I’m tutoring for pieces. I would rather sit down to a table and put early pressure on the decks I know are going to be a problem for my strat. Playing a graveyard deck and I don’t have hate? You’re probably getting some early game heat from me and I’m keeping two eyes on you at all times. I try not to hate out anyone just because but this is how I like to play.
Ooooh I might need a new playmat
We think they came out great!
I love magic I just couldn't keep up with the constant rotation of cards😢😢
kinda dissapointed that you guys didn't include Agatha's Soul Caldron in Graveyard hate. I get more use out of that thing by removing combo pieces than assembling my own combos sometimes
War Room is uber underrated...
Because a lot of players play really greedy manabases, I'm running Ruination and I don't feel bad about it.
Play from the ashes, cause it’s there fault if they’re not playing basics
@@hanschristopherson8056 Why not both?
I need someone to unlock the secret in quadruple sleeving, will you be the ones??
1. Combos
2. 99 cards
3. Proliferate mechs
4. Exile cards
Petition to start using the term "graveyard interaction" rather than "graveyard hate"!
A Bojuka Bog isn't really hate in the same way as Humility is creature hate - it's just interaction. I think calling it interaction will help people assess it better and understand the need for being able to interact with that zone of the game, rather than a more abstract idea of "hating on graveyards" :)
lol my buddy uses dihada, and on turn 4 cast ruinous ultimatum consistently every time. and then reanimates something like drakuseth right after. the card is so broken, the pips dont matter at all. treasure is too easy to create and explode with early on
No way he doesn't cheat dude. Impossible to have the same card in multiple games AND the resource to cast it WAY ahead of curve
@@yavivanov6650 eh well when you have multiple tutors in the deck and dihada makes 4 treasures on turn 3. its kinda hard to avoid lol
Oh shit, those mats are nice. Only 100 though, they will be gone so fast.
Endurance gets the nod over Faerie Macabre? Bet
Aw man! Was hoping for cat tokens!
Those may be coming soon 👀😯
Cool vid but I don't get people playing graveyard hate, or hate of any kind, when you don't know what your opponents are playing. Slotting in cards because they might help you a small percent of the time is just a bad idea. Use things that will accelerate your gameplan and removal that always keep enemies in check. If someone has a deck you're worried about comboing off, then the solution is to get better friends to play with. No one should want to win via combo, infinite anything, infect, etc. This is the greatest game in the world and when played for fun, there is nothing like it. Let's not forget that having a good time is the goal and winning is just a perk if you can.
Graveyard hate is just another form of interaction like removal. Obviously it gets better against certain decks, but you'd be hard pressed to find a deck that doesn't do at least something with its graveyard.
@@samogburn2662 I disagree and think only bout 10% of decks are interacting with their graveyard in a capacity that would win the game for them or stop you. Catering to a 10% chance isn't smart imo
Dragon tempest and ancient gold dragon. That is all.
Im gonna be at work when those mats go on sale, my heart aches
We'll post an update on the channel community page if they don't sell out!
Pit of offering for graveyard hate in a non-black land.

10:21 there Another one it’s called ONE ring to rule them all
Quick question guys with overload costs does it change the CMC of the spell like if i wanna cascade off cyclonic rift?
It changes the cost not CMC. If the card cares about how much it cost works not if it cares about mana value
@Tyler-bw3fd so if I gave cyc rift cascade it'd cascade off the 2 CMC regardless of overload yeah? Wanna make sure I understand correctly I appreciate your help friend 🧡
@@prestonmitchell9135 yes. Put Oracle on the stack then cascade the rift to win
@@prestonmitchell9135 assuming that you didn't put anything in your deck that cost 1 or less
Or will the Oracle trigger after the cascade resolves putting the cards on the bottom then Oracle trigger?
4 moxes.
Every deck needs a collector oouph. Sol ring is no longer broken job done.
That’s actually false because he fell hard out of CEDH meta Actually
Mia is an absolute smoke show!
Tribal decks rule! 🍭
One phrase - Aggressively cost lock pieces. I learned this from vintage and how Shops wins games.
Lock piece + body = Lodestone Golem, Phyrexian Revoker, Karn the Great Creator, Narset Parter of Veils, Collecter Ouphie, etc.
My meta became vintage lite, so many of these "stables" doesn't work for us.
i don't know how you're getting away with 30-35 lands unless you're routinely taking multiple mulligans. talking about going UP to 35 lands is nuts you should be starting with ~37 and go up or down from there. i just don't see how you're not consistently missing one or more land drops in your first four to five turns with 30-35 lands.
We are definitely not advocating 30, more like 35
@@NitpickingNerds even at 35 lands i feel like i get unplayable opening hands or miss at least one land drop in those first few crucial opening turns way too often. i've had so many games where i think to myself 'darn if i hadn't missed that land drop earlier' when i'm just short of making what i think will be a game-ending play.
@@themoops4006If you feel that on 35, add more card advantage before upping the land count.
@@Bstone410 card advantage doesn't make up for missed land drops and you kind of need those lands before you can use your card advantage. IIRC you have an ~87% chance of drawing into at least three lands in your first nine cards with 37 lands and it goes down from there. unless im popping a preordain or a faithless looting turn one every game i don't see how more card advantage helps me consistently make my first 4-5 land drops. later in the game sure but nothing sets you up for a loss faster than missing land drops on those opening turns. i've had so many games immediately upended because i miss an early land drop while my opponents don't and ramp on top of that which just compounds their advantage going into the later stages of the game. if i'm at 5-6 mana and they're making 8-9 going into turn 6 or so that's a huge problem that card advantage in and of itself also isn't going to solve.
I try to only play onesided wips because almost all my decks are on board decks. Also my hans loves to make wips one sided by making my board indestrucktible. I once hit a heroic intervention of an etali so second main i just cast a Blasphemos act from my hand.
(Also vigor plus red vipes is awesome)
Ruinous Ultimatum is one of my favorites. I have won games with it in my Syr Gwyn deck without a single attack (Syr Konrad for the win!). I love it.
I don't explicitly play graveyard hate in my Narset deck, but SHE is graveyard hate. Those noncreature spells can be MY noncreature spells. There is nothing more fun than casting someone else's Rise of the Dark Realms. This deck would absolutely be ruined by a lot of graveyard hate though. I should probably put Lion Sash in there though. 🤔
Please stop recommending that people play more GY hate.
Sincerely,
A dedicated GY player 😅
Let me gues ramp, removal, card draw, win conditions?
too predictable!
Isn't cyclonic rift banned in commander?
Certainly not
Noncombat way to win? There is no other way to win imo. No card should say "you win" on it anyway and no two cards should win a game together, ever. This isn't just my opinion, but Gavin, Mark Rosewater, and even Richard Garfield
lands, somewhat interaction, synergy, backup plan. 4 things your commander decks need
Amber > Miso
1. lands
2. a commander
3. sol ring
4. an infinite combo
My tawnos, solemn survivor deck focuses on both tokens that are artifacts. My God the amount of one sided board wipes for non tokens and non artifacts amounts to war crimes.
Wrathful red dragon plus blasphemous act is also a good kill strat.
I guessed 9:19 for mox field.
