I have a old Chevy Luv dealer accessorie poster in my garage. One of the options was a blacked out hood. Something to consider if you ever get tired of the patina look.
Paint this truck first, then you can wax it. That's what I woukd have done to it. Love those smaller trucks, wish they would be manufactured again in this country with the nice 4 cylinder engines in them. Gas is way to expensive anymore these days.
Lol so true. I’m in the process of throwing the engine out of that white 79 into my 76 with blown engine. Who needs cruise control when you can just put the pedal on the floor and not exceed 65mph?
@@fabricobbletech A buffer and the right compounds and polishes can make a huge difference for sure. I'd seal it in with either a low sheen wax or carnauba wax depending on what look you want. Any plans to maybe clear it?
@@chiefcreekcustoms I’m a complete amateur when it comes to paint outside of rattle can. I tend to not prioritize cosmetic projects. So tbh I haven’t really thought about it since I did it. Thanks for the tip on the wax
I laughed, I cried, I watched the LUV get polished.

I have a bit of sheet metal work to do before worrying about paint. I can fix mechanical stuff but idk if I have patience for body work lol.
Looking good my friend. 👌
In reality the Milwaukee buffer probably has more tourqe than the stock motor. 😀

Not a bad looking rig all cleaned up. I need to find another mini truck for a shop truck!
I was surprised how well the buffer brought the paint back to life. Can never have too many mini trucks
