    🌸 ABOUT ME 🌸
    Before I knew anything about digital marketing, I worked full time as an elementary school teacher. I was extremely burnt out and unhappy until I stumbled across this career. Currently, I am working a full time job as a digital marketing manager while also teaching students in my beginner digital marketing course. This field has changed my life and I made this channel to help guide those who are seeking a career and hope to be successful in doing so.

    • @growwithchristine
      @growwithchristine  Год назад +1

      That's an excellent question!
      There isn't really a secret to improving public speaking skills other than practice, practice, and more practice including speaking/presenting to clients even if you feel nervous and not confident.
      I was lucky because they provided a weekly session with a communications coach during my 2nd agency. I was able to practice mock client calls and given feedback on how to improve. If possible, I think having a public speaking coach is really worth it!
      Before client calls, I also have copious notes written down on what to say to make me feel more prepared.

    Hi Christine,
    I love watching your channel!
    I have a question about working remotely. I live in Bali, Indonesia (and I am Indonesian), and I'm looking for remote digital marketing (SEO) jobs in the US. Many of these job listings ask, "Are you eligible to work in the US?" or "Do you need sponsorship in the future?" I find this confusing since remote jobs should allow you to work from anywhere in the world and shouldn't require sponsorship or legal offline work in the US.
    Do you have any advice or opinions on this matter? Thanks so much!

    • @growwithchristine
      @growwithchristine  День назад

      Hi there! If they are US companies, they might mean remote anywhere in just the US. There are laws about working outside of certain countries so this needs to be answered by Google-ing or checking labor laws for specific countries

    Hello, Christine I'm really interested in pursuing a career in digital marketing, particularly in areas like SEO or Content Marketing. I would like to know more about how the job market is evolving in these fields. What are agencies looking for in digital marketing professionals? Moreover, what are the key skills and qualifications that can make me stand out as a strong candidate? Finally, what would be the best approach to gain a job in this industry? Thank you for your insights and guidance!" y

    • @growwithchristine
      @growwithchristine  Год назад +2

      In terms of what agencies are looking for in regards to SEO specialists/content marketers, these following traits are always in demand for entry level positions: data-driven, go-getter, ‘always-a student’ mentality, professional attitude and enthusiasm, attention to detail, and the ability to successfully work with various teams internally and externally.
      Some skills and qualifications for SEO include: Understanding of organic (Web/SEO) search metrics, experience authoring in HTML, CSS, familiarity with JS, proficiency using MS Office, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush, SFDC, and other tools to analyze site traffic and performance, and being up to date with SEO tactics: On, Off, and Technical.
      The best approach to gain a job in this industry would be to get some freelance work on your resume from internships (Acadium), volunteering, or working for friends/family. Then build a strong portfolio to apply for a smaller company as a entry level SEO coordinator/specialist.

    What traits do you think led to your success? Are you a fast learner or the program etc?

    • @growwithchristine
      @growwithchristine  Год назад +2

      Hi Gina!
      That is a great question and after some self reflection I would say my success so far could be attributed to a number of things:
      1) The course material (which I studied only for a week) greatly decreased the time I would have had to take to search for the same information slowly through free material online. It set me on the right path on what I had to do to understand *enough* to get an interview for an entry level position. (If you are in my course, feel free to take advantage of asking me questions through email or jumping on a Zoom call to go over anything. Also, I’m happy to help look over resumes or portfolios) :)
      2) I don’t think I’m necessarily a fast learner. I still had to take lots of notes and go over it to memorize or better understand it. When I was studying the material, I didn’t have any distractions such as a job or school etc. though so I was able to study for 8 hours per day (sometimes skipping lunch/breaks). I’m also a very curious person so I would do my own research online if I did not understand something.
      3) During these past few years, I didn't get easily deterred by rejections from interviews or mistakes at work. I used those to fuel me to try even harder instead and trust me I've had to go through some difficult times (including imposter syndrome). I used free time at work to learn new things, but didn’t spend too much additional time on weekends/evenings studying extra material. I knew that would cause me to burn out and it’s important to me to spend time with loved ones and have other hobbies too. :)
      I try to live by this quote - “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”
      Hope this was helpful and answered your questions - Let me know if you have other questions!
