Pro runners are hardly nervous. I’ve never seen Valby display great speed, and that’s what separates pro runners from those whose careers end in college. Valby is very good at grinding it out but that doesn’t translate to pro success. Watch Klosterhalfen some time. She has a similar grinding style but always gets smoked in the last 600m or so.

@@terraflow__bryanburdo4547 Hi. Firstly, I wish Valby the best of luck and hope she keeps improving. The reality is that Open Grade which is what you are talking about, the Pro tag is meaningless, runners in the US are running times 30 seconds faster than Valby's current best, at 5000m. Yes, I hope she does get close to around 14.30 where there are only a small handful of US runners but that wouldn't be enough to make the US Olympic team. I see her hitting her best in time for the 2028 Olympics, as long as she keeps improving. But, as you stated, it won't be in 5000m. She just isn't fast enough. So, if we are only talking Olympics, it would be either 10,000m or Marathon. Personally, I don't think 10k is her distance and she lacks a finishing sprint but, sadly, I think the Marathon is too far for her. I hope I'm wrong but I do agree with you that if she is to make a mark, it would be in the Marathon.
The biggest question of all is: will Parker Valby (and Katelyn Tuoey) still be around in 2028 or will life intervene with other careers, injuries, relationships, family? Cheers.

@@johnwilson5743 Legit critique but the same comments would have applied to Alicia Monson a few years ago, a runner whose career I think she will closely mirror. Right now of course Monson and Cranny are at another level, but runners like Schweitzer and Andrews will have to bring their A game to beat her.
She just crushed the strongest women's NCAA 3k field ever, breaking Simpsons meet record and completing a double that has only rarely been done before, if ever for women.

she doesn't have a kick in the running tactical sense. She says that herself in interviews. She picked up the pace and dropped Roe from over 1k out. She didn't outkick her, she beat her by over 20 seconds. That being said, she doesn't need a kick until she runs against the professionals.

    • @S0ulinth3machin3
      @S0ulinth3machin3 8 месяцев назад +2

@@Tigerex966 in the video, they mentioned how Roe had a better kick. The way that term is traditionally used in track and field is it means you can sprint at the end of the race. That ability isn't one that Valby has, it's something she'll have to work on when she moves up to the world class level. She dropped Roe over 1k from the finish. In the traditional track and field lexicon, someone is outkicked when the pace lifts in the last lap. It implies that the runners are more or less equal (aerobically) and between 2 runners, if one has a better kick (anaerobic output), then the other runner has to drop them before the last lap where the kick can be utilized. Roe was flattering herself by saying she got outkicked (aerobically, she's not at Valby's level) - Valby lifted the pace and Roe could not hang. Despite this mild criticism of Roe's words, all credit to her for trying to stay with Valby. The other runners didn't even try, they gave up competing with Valby in the first lap.

    • @Tigerex966
      @Tigerex966 8 месяцев назад +1

@@S0ulinth3machin3 I saw the race, parker outkicked Roe at the end.....
Be honest, look at the race again just facts and data.
They were neck and neck who got outkicked at the end?
Roe stayed about the same speed per loop, as Parker exploded much faster.
      Roe never even kicked.
Where did Roe show her superior kick in this race, be honest.
On the interview Roe said she was disappointed she could not have chalkeged Parker better and called her the future of distance running.
Believe the announcers or your own eyes?
      Why do you deny this.
Last year Tuohy outkicked Roe in the same race.
Now on a shorter race track distance.that might be different.
Valby also exploded against her opponent in record time in the 5000. At boston Indoor and the recently at 3000 indoor. Before this.
Girl has a very good kick indoor at distance.
Outdoor she tends to slowdown after leading the whole race, not always.
At regional outdoors she was challamged even passed and then kicked and won by half a minute.
Give the girls kick Some credit announcers get it wrong sometimes.
Again this was her weakness against Tuohy before and she had made changes.
Tuohy was with her at nuttycomb but not when she upped the speed yes she slowed a bit at the end.
At nationals she simply went out fast and tried to hold and slowed at the end with a side hitch.
Tuohy came in 5th way back but tuohys great kick while sick took her from 11th to 5th in a shorter time you can see her flying.
I truly believe that is the part of her game she had worked on and improved the most.
She always goes out fast but could not always hold it and would slow down toward the end.
      Not anymore.
Now she can also kick with who ever as challenging at the end.
It's okay to admit when your are obviously wrong sometimes as we all make mistakes.🤔🤫🤫😊🙏💓
That's why I suggested the 1500 for valby

Taylor also beat tuohy in the same race about two or three years ago.

No one not even.the pros have done that is 52 seconds faster almost 2 laps.
      1400 is the current record.
But usually the pros use strategy for position in the crowd blocking others in timing and when two unleash their kick.
So times close to that are extremely rare you essentially would have to be leading the whole race and at the end unleash an insane kick.
      But it's possible.

Not to be that person, but I have followed the sport for a long time, and there are too many red flags to ignore. These are (1) that she has shown an unnatural ability to quickly regain peak fitness after injury (2022, 2023) where all other college athletes struggle to recover from injury that even her competitors have noticed and mentioned; (2) she never suffers natural fatigue from hard efforts like all other college athletes, as here where she ran a very fast 3000m after a record breaking 5000; (3) a sudden, major improvement in form to the point where she now breaks records with ease. No clean athlete would run a 5000/3000 double like this. Katelyn did not. Nico did not. They worried about getting tired. But Valby seems magically immune in a way that perfectly mimicks the effects of peds. Nor are her answers about her training credible. I guess time will tell. But nothing in this sport is too good to be true.

When parker was Injured she only lost to tuohy by a few seconds.
Injury fee she beats tuohy by 12 seconds 30 if tuohy as injuref
Tuohy was almost undefeated for two years breaking records in college plus crazy in high school.
.yet no one even dares give her the same doping scruinty...why not be fair to both 😊
