Non-Incisional Asian Double Eyelid Surgery (Suture Technique for Monolid Correction) Animation

Step by step animation showing how an Asian monolid is surgically converted to a Caucasian double eyelid using a suture technique without incisions. Caucasian upper eyelids normally have a skin fold, or supra-tarsal crease, that appears with eye opening. Asian upper eyelids typically do not have an upper eyelid crease creating what some patients feel to be an undesirable monolid.
The absence of an eyelid crease is mainly due to the lack of fibrous tissue bands between the levator aponeurosis and the overlying skin and muscle. The levator aponeurosis itself is attached between the tarsal plate and eyelid muscle. With eyelid opening, the overlying skin moves with the tarsal plate creating a skin crease. Without these fibrous bands, the skin does not move with the tarsal plate and no skin crease forms.
Asian double eyelid blepharoplasty can fabricate this upper eyelid fold by creating an artificial connection between the levator aponeurosis and skin using sutures. The suture placements can be accomplished after a formal surgical incision blepharoplasty... or without incisions as shown in this video.

it's not just caucasians who have foldable eyelids, it's everybody ( except asians ) .
maybe it's just me but i find the asian eyes elegant . but i guess we all dream of the unknown*

Hello
I have facial paralysis. My eye does not close. The lashes face inward hurting the eye. Both the lower eyelid is drooping and upper eyelid not closing. I understand that a weight can be placed on the upper eyelid but can anything be done to the lower eyelid to push the lid upward or skin upward for the eye to close. I lost all facial symmetry due to nerve damage from TB Mastoiditis. Anyone please feel free to assist 🙏 I appreciate any feedback. I’m still on treatment and I lost my hearing completely. I’m deaf in both ears awaiting cochlear implants once the ears dry up. I’m responding slowly to TB treatment and I have little balance and cranial jerks and tinnitus. I just found out that the facial paralysis may not recover and I require cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to create symmetry- not function- symmetry. It’s been a life changing traumatic experience that hasn’t ended yet. I desperately would love to have nerve function back but at this point I can’t bear to look in the mirror I can’t eat I slur my eye burns .. I’ll try any intervention possible. Quality of life. 🙏❤️
