Droopy Eyelid (Ptosis) Repair
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 19 июн 2022
- Step by step animation showing how ptosis is surgically repaired. Normal eyelid movement is required for proper lubrication of the eye as well as protection from airborne irritants. However, when the eyelid does not fully open, it can not only obstruct vision, but creates a cosmetic facial asymmetry. A droopy eyelid or ptosis can be congenital or acquired through injury, disease, or nerve damage. Most commonly however, it occurs with aging as the upper eyelid skin and muscles stretch and weaken. Specifically, the levator aponeurosis which attaches the tarsal plate to the levator muscle is the main area where stretch occurs preventing full eyelid opening. When the levator aponeurosis is abnormally elongated or stretched out, ptosis occurs.
Treatment of ptosis requires shortening the levator aponeurosis so that the tarsal plate is brought closer to the muscle. This surgery is performed by an oculoplastic surgeon.

@@healthbeauty7853 around 4000 to 5000 pounds
Thank you for a very detailed and informative demonstration 👏🏼👏🏼
I have ptosis in both lids about three years after a blephorplasty by an eminent ophthalmological surgeon at a London hospital. Now, she says It can’t be rectified by the NHS, even though the original surgery was deemed necessary as a result of cataract surgery, which stretched the eyelids. And she touched them last!
I had pytergium surgery... now I have this issue
Moore field's not good ...
I am 56 yrs old and have been having trouble with my left eyelid for sometime. I will need this so I can look, feel better, and not have the discomfort. I have scheduled my surgery a month ahead and I am nervous as heck since I have never had any kind of surgery before. The Dr. said it will be a 15- 30 mins. surgery.
Bitte berichte über das Ergebnis.
How was it?
I’m 16 and I be been having a cluster headache which has caused my left eye to become droopy… I think I’m gonna go for surgery
I got hanging eyelid on my left eye with 21 Years, I really need to see a doc
Did you end up seeing one?
@@themenaceclub6952 yeah, he said that when you are tires and watch tooo much TV or use your phone, when you suppose to go sleeping. Then the eylid can go numb and stays 3-4 days hanging. Eventually it will get back to normal but it is still very unhealthy.
I have a clogged follicle or cyst and that seems to have caused droopiness on one of my eyes. I have had it for years. Is there something I can do or what do you recommend?
Me too 😢
I LITERALLY JUST WOKE UP WITH THIS, IM SCARED

I had the same thing happen. I woke up with it one morning 2 and half years ago. Not sure how I damaged the nerve that controls my eyelid
Bro im 14 years old and ive never had anything to do with my eyelid, neither genetics, how did i get this
Same
People always think I’m stoned /: lashes block vision as well
Sounds good I’ll just cut my eyelid good to know 🤙🏽
Need this done, particularly on left eye, but already eyes don't close properly while sleeping, wake up with severe dryness, redness, etc, so if eyelids made even shorter, will be totally screwed.
Bruh i was born with this thing in my right eye 😢
Im usually very comfortable with my appearance but tonight it just feel awful
I've had two surgerys for it but its still droppy and now i have a scar
It blocks my eyesight and my lashes face downwards all time obscuring my eyesight even more 😢
I was born with it too i just choose to accept it and be happy with what i have Insted i hope you feel better and know that your perfekt just the way you are 😁
Iam 38 years now and I was born with this too I suffered during my childhood but now I don't care anymore I have a good happy life 🎉❤ 🎉😊

Happy to read your comment@@mo3tazsaid578
Cost kya thi surgery ki ?
I've been trying to be healthy but my left eye keeps discouraging me.. its droopy, saggy loose skin around it and looks more closed than my right eye. I used to get compliments about my eyes but now I look kinda ... special and not attractive. How fo I fix this!!! I want to date again but I just get weird looks instead of being attractive like in my 20s.. ( in my 30s now ). I do eye and neck exercises
Try the Upneeq eye drops. One drop last 8 hours. I use it for my drooping right eyelid. I came down with ptosis 2 and half years ago and been using them since. I don’t want to get surgery. 😢
What do you do when a strabismus surgeon fixed your eye to have this disorder so that you have to have this procedure done? Please someone respond. Thank you.
I hope I had money to do this surgery
Hope you acquire someday. I'm praying for you!

@John Jordan Malang have you found any solution ? I too have ptosis in left eye plz let me know
SUPER EASY TO FIX:
Get a ziploc bag put a cold folded washcloth inside and 2 Icecubes, put on eyelid for 20 mins, it’s ok to take it off for a couple of seconds!!! It works
Are the results permanent? Also how often should I do it?
@@elenka282 permanent
@@elenka282 do it 2-3 times for 20 minutes every 3 hours
@@elenka282 there are permanent 👍 do it 2 times every hour for 3 hours and than let it rest
i think for some there can be an underlying cause like for me i had tmj for the longest and had a really bad bite. since improving that i think facial muscles change a bit and now i have it 50% of the time
Tell me what is tmj??
I’m scared, i have this in my left eye and I’m only 12 I’m had this for nearly 3 years
K čemu to je... stejně má jedno obočí výš a křivou bradu
Anyone suffering with ptosis try the Upneeq eye drops. I came down with ptosis on my right eye two and half years ago. And the Upneeq eye drops have been a life saver. I’ve been using them for 2+ years already.
How did you get them?
I'm 13 and I have this
I’m 14 I woke up and it was just randomly there I think maybe it’s cause I have barely slept for a while
I have it too, and I’m becoming very self conscious of it, idk if it’s because I’m not getting enough super or something
@@celerycelso6914 Hey! It's alright,,feeling self conscious is something I relate as I have it too but learn to love your uniqueness but maybe in future you can fix it
@@mememonster9475is it still there or it solved with good sleep
im 16 and i woke up with this 😭😭😭 helpp
Same bro
I had this done to both eyes, now my left eye doesn’t totally close at night, so I have to tape that eyelid shut, or wake up with a serious dry eye that is painful.
I jus close the other eye lid smaller to match it. There's nothing u can do. Your daily habits is why your small eye is like that you'd have to change the way you sleep on it, sleep schedule, what you eat, how many times you blink, etc. just close your other eye and match it
got this done 2 days ago for free covered by ohip
Is it worth it can you plz suggest me to undergo this?? For sake of God plz reply
@@Xinsight3105 its still swollen a bit

I also tried to use thin tread to put it between my eyelid then open my eye wide hoping to trace the old crease back, but it seems useless because once i blind the thread will fall off. I wasn't sure if that was safe so i stopped. Now stuck with thick eyelid and I'm very sad and lost my confidence, please help me.
