    You, not literally, opened my eyes! I never thought that my ptosis of eye might have an effect on how people respond to my presence. It makes a lot of sense. I had two operations when I was 3 and 4 but I imagine the technology has improved. I'm encouraged to take care of this. Thank you!

    I have congenital Ptosis, and I'm 35. I had multiple opportunities for surgery, but I wussed out when I was a kid. When I was in the Army I could have gotten it fixed for free, since the military pays for a selective surgery for each soldier. Whether they choose to use it or not is up to them. I know a person who transitioned while serving, and the Army paid for her mastectomy.

    This is the most informative video about ptosis correction! Is it possible to do it in conjunction with an upper eyelid surgery? I have significantly asymetric result after using upneeq so I assume ptosis sugery alone would not look good on me.

    Have congenital Ptosis , very noticeable as a child , had operation on it aged 25 was effective and made a difference but as I got older the drooping is more noticeable, is it more difficult as one ages to operate ? Or is it less effective with age ?

    Interesting. I have a droopy eye and eye brow. I use drops and they do work on the eye…. but it is very inconvenient to remove contacts wait 15 min to put them back in. Do you recommend doing and eye lift at the same time and can you fix the eyebrow?

    • @drkopelman

      Using Upneeq®oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution 0.1% is an option if you want a temporary way to raise your eyelids but a more permanent fix is to perform upper eyelid blepharoplasties combined with a brow lift

    Hi doctor i have mild congenital ptosis with good levator muscle what is better for me levator plication or resection?

    • @drkopelman
      @drkopelman 10 месяцев назад

      Generally congenital ptosis requires a levator resection it will last longer

  • @silaslongshot941
    @silaslongshot941 26 дней назад

    Have just had ptosis surgery 8 days ago, stitches out, swelling 99% gone. Doc says levator muscles 'damaged' and weak, so lift is as good as it's going to get, which is distressing because the damned procedure has left me with worse vertical double image problems than before the surgery. Due to this double vision, which was the problem from day one of consultation, I have NO detail vision so can't read street signs, can't read print, & computer screen must be enlarged 150% PLUS wearing glasses.
    Any glasses Rx to help with this as there's nothing left to lift to fix the double vision issue by surgery.

    Hi Doctor,
    I was born with ptosis in my two eyes. I had a surgical operation when I was 20 years old, and the results were not satisfactory the second time, when I was 21 years old. I constantly have the sensation that my eyes are tired. Please, how can you advise me?
    Best regards.

    • @drkopelman
      @drkopelman Год назад

      Congenital ptosis is difficult to fix because the internal eyelid muscles have not developed normally.The correction will always give a suboptimal result because the surgeon wants to avoid corneal exposure that could impact your vision.

    Hi sir . I have droopy eyelids from age late 20’s. Now Iam mid 30’s. Not sure what caused it at such a young age . Can you diagnose if it’s ptosis or skin lasticity and later you can perform surgery accordingly ? Or do I need to get diagnosed first and come to you for surgery ? Waiting for your valuable reply sir

    Hello, i had surgery for ptosis on my left eye a week ago. I notice that the eyelid of my right eye is drooping more than before. Is this normal?

    • @drkopelman
      @drkopelman 5 месяцев назад

      What happened is as your left eyelid ptosis was corrected your forehead muscle contractors relaxed revealing underlying ptosis of your right upper eyelid. You probably had a ptosis that was "hidden " by the contraction of your forehead muscles.

    • @Lorenzow06
      @Lorenzow06 5 месяцев назад

      If you have one blind eye i would recommend that you do not have ptosis repair in the opposite eyelid because there is always risks associated with surgery.
