    Thanks for the review. I struggle to believe though that image burn-in/retention has something to do with brightness as it is just backlight intensity. Glad to hear that recent models don't have this problem.

    I absolutely get image retention on mine. I use Pro Tools and I have editorial and plugin windows on my screen for 12 hours a day all week and they rarely move. After long periods I can definitely see the outline of those windows on my screen. But I do feel that they go away after some down time. I often go without work for a month till the next gig comes in and though my system is on it's often in screen saver mode and I swear those retained images go away or get much less less noticeable. I really like this monitor but would love to get something with a second TB port and a higher refresh rate. I also sometimes have an issue where the wallpapers change size and or it has issues waking up or showing on start up and I have to pull the power cord to get it back. Might also be an issue with the new M series mac processors. I feel like my old Mac Pro with a Radeon RX580 felt more solid in how it handled my monitors. My LG 5K2K is currently flickering in the center and i'm pretty sure that's a sign of the end so not sure if I'm gonna replace it with the same one. Which I usually do unless something much better has come out. Its currently 100 bucks more than it was when I bought this one 5 years ago at B&H. If it was $800 ish I'd grab it but at $1,100 I think I can spend a bit more and get a lot more.

    2020 vs 2018, what’s the difference in the model name?

  • @felixoum186

    Sorry for my poor English. I bought this screen but when I connect it with my cable (power cable came with the macbook air 2020) it charges the mac but the images are not transmitted (as if nothing is connected) but it still recharges the Mac... I wonder if it's a setting or a known problem or if a special cable is needed. Thank you my brother

    You can also use an apple thunderbolt cable to use this monitor with your Mac. Works seamlessly.

      Need a special cable ? Because I have three apple cables that came with the macbooks (the cables that come with the boxes) but the images are not transmitted. however it recharges the mac... On the other hand everything is fine in HDMI...

    I have problems with sound. coming from the inbuilt speakers, Sometimes it works some times it doesn't and I need to restart to make the Monitor speakers work again. Do u have the same issue? I am using Thunderbolt 3.. when I use normal USC c there is no issue. Many thanks.

      Nah I don’t. What device do you have connected to the monitor? Is the device running the latest version of its operating system? Are you also using the original thunderbolt cable that came with the monitor?

    Hi, can you change the speaker level using your keyboard? I heard you can’t do this if using a mac

      by default I don't know of any displays other than the ultrafine 4k/5k or thunderbolt/cinema displays that work this way. You can get it working pretty easily with software though. I use "Lunar", I use the pro version but had been using the free version for a few years no issue. This can also enable brightness control with the keyboard. Can personally confirm compatibility with the 34wk95u and 34bk95u using that software.

      hit alt + resolution in the macos settings -> shows you all possible resolutions, you can than force it to use proper 4k

    This monitor uses the IPS panel technology, ergo there is no image retention or burn in...

    • @MAXp0wr
      @MAXp0wr Год назад +1

      that is 100% incorrect. Many of LG's UHD IPS panels have image retention problems.
