SVS will be INCREASING their prices this October 4th from roughly $40-$400 depending on the item!! If you are thinking about upgrading to their brand, now is the time to do so. I already placed my order :) Please share....

I LOVE my 5.1.2 SVS surround sound system. They truly make fantastic speakers & subs

That magenta and cyan lighting is on point!
These are the speakers I'd have if I ever replaced my polk TSI-100's

I have the same Pioneer speakers for my front left, right, and center. I was initially looking at just upgrading the center since I have trouble discerning dialogue sometimes. I was glad to see this review comparing them and now I may wait until I feel more comfortable spending more to just upgrade all 3 to SVS Primes.
Still like that you get 45 days to try them. Might make it easier to convince the wife to keep them if they're a huge improvement.

Thanks Brad. I can't imagine how heartbroken you are going to be while handing these speakers to the UPS driver. The set-up you have now with the SVS speakers is on the second line of my dream list. First on the list is all debts paid off.

I'm so sad to see them go. ☹️ But we kept the subwoofer. One thing at a time.

@@trishpipkins I have yet to hear an SVS speaker, but I hope to next year. Enjoy that fantastic sub.

Subscribed! Any thoughts on if the Ultras are worth the upgrade in a home theater situation? Or maybe an Ultra center w/ Prime fronts?

I haven’t heard the Ultra’s yet, but this is a comparison I’m planning to do when we get settled in the new house in late June/early July.

Brad, I'm running a similar setup to you, pioneer fs52, c22, and 4 of the bookshelves and 2 atmos for a 7.2.2 home theater. I did have 2 decent subs in the Monolith 10 ported subwoofers. Do you think the SVS primes would be a substantial enough upgrade to warrant the purchase?

    • @HomeTheaterGamer
      @HomeTheaterGamer  3 года назад

That’s a tough call. I’m not saying the Primes aren’t awesome and worth the money (they definitely are), but if you’re happy with the way your system sounds I say hold off. The biggest difference I always come back to is that the Primes do sound brighter and tighter to me thanks to the aluminum dome tweeter over the soft dome tweeter in the Pioneers. The Primes are also just a better built speaker and their quality is fantastic.
If I had the money at the time, I would have purchased the Primes, but I’m still happy going back to the Pioneers for the time being.

It works well with an av receiver with 70w per channel 8 ohmios because the center channel has only 84 db sensitive ?

      I think its 86db

Hi man, what about 3 Prime centers as LCR, laying horizontally below an 82" TV, any suggestions?
Do you consider this a good idea?
    Anyone???

I thought the same with the ultra center. That's a great idea, three ways speaker for also left and right channel. Let's add a few sb 2000 pro and that would be a beast of a sound!!

Why used them for rear speakers when they have satellite speakers for that

Because you can? Also I mention in the video that I was using the Prime Pinnacle towers for the fronts, so… yeah.

Other channels may have what you're looking for, which I'm still not sure what exactly that is.
