I will be purchasing the SVS Ultra center channel as your video was very informative and not to technical. So how is the bass output of the Ultra compared to the Prime? And is the punch/impact dealing with bass, midrange and treble? Again this has helped me out tremendously.
Thanks for the appreciation!! If you have budget for Ultra I would suggest it as it has better bass and impact although that work should be delegated to a subwoofer. Yesterday I saw the Monolith THX 365 C on sale at target for $399. That's half the price of this and target is convenient to return. But yea Ultra Center is the best choice if budget is ignored. Your previous video's showed how important it was to have a good center channel, and like you I have to keep adjusting the volume with my current budget center channel. So to me the $800 is an long term investment for good sound quality for years to come.
I got a great deal on svs ultra center channel. With the piano gloss finish it had a scratch on it pretty big and pretty nasty but it was on the bottom so you couldn’t see it it was marked as you said 799 I got it for $500. What a difference in price and $300 off for a couple of scratches that you can’t see that’s fine with me
SVS has great customer service. If the grill is warped contact them and they will 100% send you a new one. Sounds like the pins are a little off, making it bow out in the middle. It shouldn't be like that. Also, the black oak on the Ultra series is real wood veneer, that's why it's the same price. The Prime's black ash is a vinyl wrap so you pay more to get the piano gloss on those.
You sound like an SVS sales rep defending the cons. Yes the speaker is great quality but that grille frame material and fabric is cheap quality. I will ask for a new one and see if at least the warp is fixed but for $800 speaker the grille is not great.
@@starazureSVS does have terrific customer service, sadly something that is very rare these days. I’m not a sales rep, but someone who has dealt with them. Quality product + customer service is what earns my loyalty. SVS and NHT both have it.
I think you’re video assessment was right on point. The only thing I disagree with is that the svs ultra grill, I don’t think it’s as bad as you say. It’s not great, but it’s not bad either. And I would have liked to see the 2 way sony center channel in there

SVS Ultra is the best of these. Monolith 365C is next best as the midrange and below sound is richer and fuller compared to Prime center. I would prefer Elac Uni Fi over Elac debut as it's 3 way with separate tweeter, midrange and bass drivers. When I purchased in 2022, Uni Fi was $367 and is as good as Prime center. Elac debut is 2 way design so transition from tweeter to woofer is not smooth. You will not be disappointed with SVS Ultra or THX 365C or Elac Uni Fi. I kept the SVS Ultra in Piano black finish as it was the best sounding in this price range. Hope this helps! Good luck !
Unfortunately no but they look very impressive. I had only experienced the Uni Fi UC52. Also the cheaper 3 way ELAC Uni-fi UC5 Center Speaker Is on sale for $149 on Amazon.
I like the comparison between the three top speakers, but I think you could have used the 83 instead of the 81, I think the comparison would be better suited and I fair test.
Hi very nice review. I am going to use center Speaker only for home theater and TV. No music at all. Very clear dialogue is the most important. I have a Polk audio center model ES35. Do you think that JBL 520C would be a upgrade? or should I go for the Monolith 3 way ? or just leave well enough alone?
Thanks. The ES35 is meant for space saving but has weak bass. It goes to a lower end of only 66hz so transition to subwoofer is not seamless. JBL 520 will be a slight upgrade but if you are throwing away another center speaker the upgrade should be a game changing one in my opinion. A 3 way center such as ELAC Uni Fi Reference, SVS Prime Center, Monolith 365C, Emotiva XC1, Infinity RC263 are some examples. Try to get a 3 way design center speaker such as these I mentioned especially for Movie dialogues.

Maybe can you please make a video with all beginner sony products. The Sony 7.2 avr. The 3 way Sony towers I think they’re like $230 a pair then you can get the Sony atmos speakers 149 a pair. The Sony center channel. The Sony 3 way bookshelf speakers for surroundsound and the Sony 12 inch woofer. You can get a complete system for about $1300 I would really like to know how and all Sony system sounds
I own the Sony 7.2 Receiver and the Atmos speakers. I am planning to do a Receiver video soon comparing with a Yamaha budget Receiver. So yes I can make that. The Sony Center channel is not great. Once you took the grills off, you had to take them all off. Why did you leave JBL? no sense. We've also seen other speakers without the grill, and yet you took it off
Pls watch entire video. JBL grill off is shown multiple times in this same video for instance at 2:19 and 3:49 The JBL comes with a pry tool to get the grill off and its in storge with the box. I did not want to pry it with a screw driver. I wish I had it handy for the demo.

My gill came with a warp causing space in the center and also missed some wood sanding. May be I got a bad one. I'm glad you like yours !!
