  • Brian Eslick from How to Automotive www.howtoautomotive.com/ talks with you about the new Milwaukee Tools SHOCKWAVE Impact Duty 6-Point Socket Lineup which will be available in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", and 1" drives and how they are holding up over the last year of heavy use.This lineup will include impact extensions, adapters, universal joints, reducers, socket rails and clips, and retaining rings. These sockets are designed for use with impact wrenches, drivers, and ratchets. What sets these impact sockets apart from everything else is the boldest, longer-lasting markings. These markings are machined into the socket and ink-filled so they will not wear off. The markings are very impressive.

    These appear to be good Impact sockets, the high-vis numbering is a great feature. I am especially happy that the numbering held up with very little damage over a year!

    How do they compare to the snapon? Since I've seen so many videos showing snapons shallow sockets putting more torque response than others. Thanks

      @@kevinsmoon3257 I got to admit I basically did some tool unboxing films on my itty-bitty channel mainly to see what kind of feedback I get from viewers who have used the tools more frequently that I showcased. I stopped doing that a long time ago; it seems so useless . I’s much rather give the long term reviews like ole Mr. Brian there. The Flat-rate Master has done some long term reviews on his channel as well. I don’t get near the amount of automotive repair work that I would like to be able to do the same thing.

    Wow the 10mm is one of the cleanest ones yet one of the most used sockets. Everyone always uses n loses 10mm all the time so for it to be one of the cleanest, it must have been replaced at least a couple times in the last 10 months lol

    Really any impact socket made out of chrome molybdenum is good. Even the harbor freight ones.

    • @dillwiggle2
      @dillwiggle2 7 месяцев назад

      Yup the vanadium ones are more prone to crack (harder material), the molybdenum are softer material. I’ve never ever in my life cracked either type of impact socket. Any brand will do the trick, the only good thing about the Milwaukee set is the high viz numbers basically and no skipping. I’d get them over snap on any day just from the price point.

  • @evokethegoat9077
    @evokethegoat9077 2 года назад +3

    How thick are they compared to snap-on sockets? I need to upgrade from the fat husky’s since they don’t fit everywhere a snap-on socket would, but if these are just as thin I’ll take them instead

    Hey Brian, just got the 3/8 Milwaukee stubby and need to pair it with an impact socket set. I only need metric, and can only afford either shallow or deep at the moment. So which would you recommend for hobby car/motorcycle work? Also looks like the 9mm has never been used!! Thank you

    It’s been another 10 months? How are they doing? I just order M18 mod torque and doing some research to see what impact sockets I wanna pair my impact with. There are so many dang choices out there, so it’d be awesome to hear from you. I need to change my shocks and spring on my car. A shop here quoted me $2400 to put on my shocks and springs that I already bought. I told them “No, thanks” and decided to just buy the tools and do it myself

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  2 года назад +2

      That’s a lot of money and I think doing it yourself will save you big time even after buying the tools. I can say 100% they are holding up well and I use them every day Monday through Friday.

    • @regulardude2011
      @regulardude2011 2 года назад

      Thank you for a quick response! I’m pleased to that they have held up well. Because of you, I ordered two sets this morning in 3/8 drive. One deep wall set and one “normal” or shallow (not sure if I can call them shallows lol), but they’re much shorter than the deep sockets.
      I also need some wrenches, I know Milwaukee sells wrenches, but I want a 6point ratcheting ones and not the 12 point. Any recommendations?
