I’m so impressed with what Milwaukee tool is doing. Their electric impact tools are the best and now tool boxes, under hood lights , ratchet and hand tools. The industry as change , in the 90’s and early 2000’s a hundred hour week was nothing and you didn’t mind paying 300 bucks for ratchet. Now if you make 40 hours is like hitting the Lottery so , it’s nice to see good tools at affordable prices.

It's obvious, you have been around the industry for a few years. You are correct, it's hard to afford to just throw money at tools today. Always need to search for the best value of performance for the $$. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for this, never would have dreamed of applying that much torque to a ratchet at any of these 3 sizes. Milwaukee under priced these (will be getting all 3) but they definitely overpriced their flex head ratcheting wrenches. Their pricing structure across the board is confusing to say the least.

Today I just ordered the 1/4 stubby from home depot with a $25 gift my brother got me for fathers day. Could have used it a few weeks ago but the opportunity will arise again!

I went by Advanced Auto today and picked up a three pack (1/4, 3/8 and 1/2) of the new Diehard ratchets. All were very dry inside and got the full treatment. They are identical on the inside to Milwaukee. The pawl on the Diehard has less writing but they are the same shape.
Both are laser etched on the head and both have the same pawl. Both have all the seals and same switch design. Both have the anvil that seats into the head and pin like pawl spring thing. Milwaukee does have a unique handle design. The comfort grip Diehard have very nice handles too tough. Diehard has no stamped markings at all.

As a DYI mechanic, who will not be doing any engine rebuilding or suspension work, do you think the regular 3/8th ratchet set will be good enough ? I was thinking of getting the 1/2 set but now I'm debating getting the 3/8 extended ratchet to go along with my 3/8 set. The length of the regular 1/2 and the extended 3/8 are the same.

I wonder who is making all these Taiwanese hand tools for Dewalt, Milwaukee, etc. The biggest problem I see with all these new brand names besides availability, is getting them warrantied and wondering weather they will be making hand tools with their name on them in 5 - 10 yrs. That said these do look like a very nice ratchet, and for once it doesn't have that awful snap on style round handle grip.

@@jameselam8263 their all within spitting distance of each other, and Tekton I think it's the strongest of the bunch even though the internals in all these Taiwan ratchets are basically the same.
