I've been dealing with Covid Delta and the mullein plants growing on my property have been very help in keeping my lungs open and functional. I know it seems counterintuitive to smoke a leaf with lung inflammation, but lo and behold it works.
I made mullein tea first time yesterday and again today. Cleared up my chest and sinus congestion due to pollen. Also cleared out my stomach. I even feel high from it like a dreamy, calm feeling.
@dustin stafford Plucked the leaves from both young and old mulleins. Heated up some water and ripped the leaves up and soaked them in the hot water for 20 min or so.
Seminoles used to pull it by the roots when flowering. Then would hang it upside down drying it slow. It would then be ground using motor and pedistal. Mainly used break up congestion in lungs. Method for treatment was bringing water to boil in. Large cast iron. Calderon throw in the dried mullen, then take off fire, drape a blanket clever like a tent with patient under blanket, medicine man had a long wooden tube that was imersered between blanket a Calderon in the hot Mullen luquid. The medicine man would blow into the hot Mullen mixture and steam Mullen vapor would be made and inhaled by patient.
I used a couple of drops in juice for my son who suffered from horrific asthma. It worked as nothing else did. I used it as a preventive med in the fall and winter when his asthma got worse. Great stuff.
Well, I love mullein and let it grow wherever it shows up on my property, plus i have made tinctures and salves with the leaves and flowers, but I never know about it’s amazing fire starting abilities. So cool!

Hello, i am from the U K and have an allotment garden. That's a plot of land that is rented from the local council to grow food, keep hens and general garden. I was talking to another plot holder just a few days ago, who has one of them growing on his plot. I had not seen one before and was asking him about it. When it sets seed i will ask him for a few and grow it myself. I like the idea of the fire starter, from the dry stalk. I also did this once with a dry yucca flower stem, works in the same way. Thanks for the video.
Very cool video. There was a lot of relevant information packed into a few minute video without a bunch of fluff and filler. Thank you and have a great day brothers!
Mullein seeds were used for ages as a fish piscicide to stun fish in small streams and ponds lakes etc. The seeds are ground and than released into the water, soon after fish float to the top and are gathered.
@@rickhartman2106 you harvest and eat. It's illegal to do. If caught. But don't do it too often and only do it in small sections of streams her legs are rivers or ponds or whatever
Are the fish stunned or do they die? Reason for asking ...we have a grand 2 ac. pond full of fish. Problem is it's also full of lily pads that are impossible to kill. We're building an earth dam then draining half at a time. To enable us to SCRAPE the sludge, plant roots and decayed plant beds out. We need a safe way to move the fish . Because, with so many lily plants we're unable to drag a net.
OK, here is my contribution and I am being serious. If you are caught in the wild unequipped and you gotta go, the beautiful wide durable soft fur covered leaves make a GREAT toilet paper alternative. When we were kids we even refer to the plant as the toilet paper plant. It is a life savor in a pinch, when you've gotta pinch.
Why are you shitting in the woods that often that you call it the toilet paper plant. Take a shit in the morning before u go out. If u gonna be there for a while as in a few days take a bucket and bring some toilet paper.

It's all new, to me. But I've Allready decided, to pass, advice etc on to everybody I know, with sinus problems thank you. I believe it's a nature's, miracle...... ❤️ From South Africa,
Native American (Choctaw), leaves can be used to deprive water of oxygen for fishing (survival only), you can smoke the leaves effect like other green herbs, but this will clear up your lungs, seeds eaten as a pain killer does not last long, it also make great toilet paper
Here's a thought... Just be your best self without wasting time lecturing about or judging who should do what. The irony in what I'm saying here is not lost on me.
I make tea from the leaves and it is a helpful remedy for cough and congestion. I also let it grow undisturbed because the birds in the forest where I live really enjoy the flower parts. I enjoy watching the birds! The leaves are great natural "toilet paper" too. So soft! Charmin got nothin!
The Common Mullein plant has also been grown for its oil in the plant, not one or two plants but farmed like sunflowers but I don't know if it was an experiment or if they still do it. I didn't know how well it makes fire, pretty cool.
Funny! I laughed too, then thought about it and I believe the little fibres on the leaves which are very soft small shards dispersed into the air when he shook the plant. He stated it's good for congestion and exactly that happened immediately with the cough upon breathing them in. He coughed which is the lungs clearing his chest. I have experienced the same reaction handling mullein, just little pecks but noticable.
Is there a use for the seeds besides growing them . And do you know the best way to start the plants from seeds ? Thank you , your video was very informative !
