Fully agree, as an ex mental health nurse this is such an important point. Thank you for raising this.

“It’s dismissing someones felt experience, and that is not empathic” - best advise ever. Should also be taught to primary school teachers.
    Loving your videos. Thank you.

My son suffers from schizophrenia. He says he doesn’t hear voices although I’ve caught him talking to himself and answering back. It’s more his train of thought. He also denies and underplays his illness. It was a scary diagnosis for us but most of all for him as he was only 17 at the time. I’m training to be a councillor h nice why I subbed to your channel. Would love to see more videos. ‘Thank you’ 💜🙏

Thank you so much for your kind comment Dee. I wish you well with the training and I wish your son well too. I will try to get some more videos done soon. Please feel free to let me know here if there are any topics in particular you would like me to try to cover. Best, Donal

@@counsellingselfdevelopment8363 Thank you for your reply. I most certainly will ask if you can cover a specific topic. Looking forward to it. I’ve reverted back to a few videos here for my studies. 🙏💜

If you got time, what sorter of topics does a client need to discuss, on the first day of counselling?
