  • Join me on this paddle board camp as I paddle out an inlet to an uninhabited coastal island. Once arriving on the island it’s around another mile and a half hike down the beach to find a beautiful secluded spot to camp. I cook myself a nice dinner and got treated to an incredible sunset and sunrise in the morning. I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing trip. I hope you enjoy watching! If you have any questions or comments just leave them below.

    Superb video as always. May I ask, are you a chef? I only ask as the things you cook up in a tent (or on a beach) are better than most of us can manage in our kitchens! ATB Mark.

      Thanks Mark, I’m glad you liked it! I’m not a chef, only a cooking enthusiast! I actually thought that was a path I wanted to go down for a brief period of time but after working late nights in a kitchen it kinda changed my mind 🤣. I do still really enjoy cooking though. Especially outside 👍 ATB. Appreciate the comment

    Another great video and wow, what a location. Shame some people don’t share the same level of respect for the outdoors though 😔
    Anyway, I know you mentioned on a previous video how much you liked the knife you take with you (preparing your food), can you advise what it is and where I could get it from please?
    Also I’ve just brought myself a Trangia 25 stove as I’m just getting into camping. Any meal recipes or websites you could recommend to visit for ideas would be great 👍

      I appreciate you continuing to watch my videos! The two knives I enjoy using the most for food prep while camping are the Benchmade Bugout and the Victorinox Soldier. Both can be purchased from various retailers or from each companies website. Hope you enjoy your Trangia. They are fantastic cooksets. As for recipes, the trangia 25 is large enough to make most recipes you would normally make on the stove in a kitchen. As for trangia specific recipes I believe the company actually sells a cookbook on their website also. However, not sure if the recipes are any good but it’s worth a look. Thanks for the comments! @@GoingSoloOutdoorsHi, came across your channel & diving into the content
      Where you ended up going looks a very tiny bit ( you'd have to squint & use imagination) like this area out in Royalston Massachusetts which's about an hour & some change from my work area over here in Western Massachusetts.
      There's a place up there known as Lake Tulley & if you're ever over this way, you should check it out.
      It was made by the Engineer corps way back when & has about 5 islands you can pull up on & explore.
      Each one, me & my ex GF while together gave silly names to based on what we encountered, like "Ant Island"; it's the one with the tallest peak so you can't miss it but, would suggest being careful if you explore the upper portion.
      I think it's a HUGE ant mound where, when we went up there, all these big carpenter looking ants came out & were biting us so we got out of there quick.
      She lost a pair of 200+ $ Ray Bans & we're still friends but, the dumb joke is the ants found her sunglasses & are using them for some kind of ant based solar tech.
      Others you'd run into 1- Blueberry island ,- wild blueberries grow in the backside of it & are yummy. 2- Beaver Island - it's because of the beaver gnawed trees which you can't miss.
      3- "Nibbles Beach" where there's beach sand but it goes right into the lake, you have goldfish that nibble at you if you stick your feet in the water.
      I forgot the.other names we had going.
      I don't know if they'd let you camp in one for a night or not but I guess there's ways to find out. There is camping but it's more for RV's then anything else on the shore area somewhere.

    • @GoingSoloOutdoors
      @GoingSoloOutdoors  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks! When the fuel is warm enough I just light it with the ferro rod because it’s quick and simple. If it’s gotten a bit cold over night though, it won’t light with a spark because the fuel does not vaporize at lower temps so I will use matches 👍. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

    Hi,
    Was this near the lakes or quite a bit further out? I didn't know there was anywhere that quiet in that area.
    Are any of these places you go to similar to where you are originally from? US or Canada but and have you lived in the UK for a long time and how does it compare to home? Apologies for all the questions and i understand if you don't want to answer them all, i was just curious to where you are originally from that's all as you seem very laid back for an American no offence intended 😂

    • @GoingSoloOutdoors
      @GoingSoloOutdoors  Год назад +2

      Haha no offense taken I am originally from the states and have been living here in England for 3.5yrs now. This camp was along the Norfolk Coast. Such a beautiful area with lots to explore. I actually grew up along the ocean in the US so this does remind me of home a bit. Snowdonia and The Lake District on the other hand are very different from the places I would normally camp back in the states. The mountains along the east Coast in the US have many more trees so it’s quite different. I’ve really grown to love places like this though. I love seeing all the rock formations and contours in the landscape. We currently live in the English countryside and I do find it much more relaxing then where we were in the states. Life feels much more balanced here and it’s incredible being able to travel much easier through Europe. My kids have no idea how fortunate they are to get to do this at such a young age! Really appreciate you taking the time to comment! ATB

      @@GoingSoloOutdoors Thanks for the response it is very much appreciated. I was showing some of your videos to my partner the other day and she agreed some of these places look absolutely stunning! Although I don't think she was too keen on the one's where you were trapped in bad weather ha, well she wouldn't want to be in that situation is what she meant I think :) I imagine it seems like everything is all on a much smaller scale when compared to the US? As you have some huge mountain ranges out there such the Rockies etc.
      In regards to my last message and in hindsight it probably seemed like I was being a bit naive, as I assume people must be very different from state to state as you have places like Texas which I think is actually larger than the whole of the UK in terms of land mass. Anyway I just wanted to say I have been really enjoying some of your videos and I am actually surprised they can vary so much in view counts, but I will certainly be recommending them regardless so hopefully that will get you a few more. FYI we found beautiful little infinity pool near Beddgelert in and around Snowdonia a few years back up near the old mining gear from what I recall, so if you are ever in that area again it would certainly be worth a stop

      I just looked up Guile Point. Beautiful area and it does look very similar to this 👍. I was along the Norfolk Coast. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
