  • I attempt to repair this E.T. Furby with really bad battery corrosion. The battery terminals need replacing as the old ones were so cad they were disintegrating. This E.T. was sent to me by Car Boot Chris or Cookie and the Haydens on RUclips - / @cookiethehaydens to take a look at and see if there was anything I could do to get it working again. Enjoy this one.

I know its a lot of prep work but if you get your self a wooden block and carve/drill holes for making various dents you can buy a cheap thin plate of sheet metal and make these your self. Plate cutter and a hammer are the only tools you need to buy and then just the wooden block and a rounded stick to bang in to the metal with the block under. Its some effort compared to buying ready made but these you still had to customize so maybe worth it if you face it often.
I've never fixed one so far gone, usually the worst I've had are springs melted away and there I just use 1/3 of a spring from a pen. Granted it doesn't look nice but for my own home repair and not to sell I'm happy if it works without breaking instantly.

Fair play geez you really are a trooper! Least it’s working and I’d defo say it’s a win. Honestly though geez please don’t stress about spending anymore time on my one. You won’t get them hours back 😅
I think this one’s neck was clicking due to his hood being up and it not being able to stretch his neck? Might not have been but could be? Either way you done good. Stay blessed ☝🏼❤️🤜🏼

I've already taken another look at yours Max. It's easier to compare readings when you have a working one to go by. I think yours has a little short somewhere that drains the battery and his finger stays alight very dimly. If I can track it down and it's not a bad chip it might be fixable. Fingers crossed. I don't think his hood stops his head moving as it is a very loose fit.

@@RetroElectronicRepair your a nutter! Fair play geez really appreciate this and I owe you b!g time! Oh and the hood thing was just an obvious guess from what I could see from vid but obviously I trust that you know way more than most regarding these little extra terrestrials 😅🤜🏼
