Wonderful video, Chommang! As an old man (42 years old), your videos have been very helpful for me in my journey to hopefully create comic books one day soon. I have paid hundreds of dollars for art courses in the past 3 years and none of them were as helpful as your videos, which are free to watch on RUclips!
I am lucky I have a head full of hair still, so I can afford to pull them out from frustration, because I could've saved more money lol. :D

I love this video and although it was my first time trying to draw anatomy I feel like I did pretty good and you have helped me with having a feel for drawing anatomy and I think using the box method is great.

I remember looking at an anatomy tutorial (for their kinda style) and it was using flat shapes. one of the comments said to use more 3d shapes and so I literally made the SLIGHTEST things 3d. I have no idea. I think these boxes will help me make more dynamic poses!

Honestly im losing passion for art. I know that its okay for my art to not meet my expectations but once i finish a piece and im proud of it i go on social media and that one 13 year old artist's art shows up on my feed and i immediately get discouraged and frustrated to the point that i cry. I dont even know anymore. Im thinking of quitting.
Art is when you love what you do.
honestly I understand how you feel. I'm an artist myself, and I always feel incredibly discouraged when I see a 13 year old with master drawings. Drawing is what I love, and it calms me down from everything.
This is like wanting to draw, seeing Davinci, and then immediately giving up. You must walk before you run!
Don't be discouraged, be motivated! Don't compare yourself to others but look at what they do and if you like that, strive towards it! Keep going. Idk why it's different for me but when I see great art I just know that the artist has spent many years more than me, probably, drawing and refining their art and even they are still surpassed and it makes me want to improve. Maybe the knowledge that a) there's always someone better at everything and b) you can get there will help you!

This is really working but can't draw the pose i have in mind 😅 will check ur other videos out n the using blocks is easier compared to using different shapes method i tried few but was lil difficult so ur video was very helpful

In these drawings, I couldn't notice the tilt in pelvis, do you keep that info in mind and draw the box up straight? If that's so (and not because the reference) then it can really help with perspective a lot, I am struggling with it a lot!

Before you start drawing from your imagination, look at references and draw freely and familiarly. It will help.
That way, you'll be able to draw from your imagination only, like in my video today. :)
So true, drawing from imagination is mostly just pulling from your visual library. By studying reference and drawing them, you build up your visual library.

Hello how do you measure the head while drawing body first? Is it 1/2 of the torso length? And the leg is it the same legth as the whole upper body? Im kinda struggle with this. Thank you sir.
