OMG, I have been pulling my hair out try to get this used Lexmark X5650 to communicate with my pc, went to various blog sites, windows community, nothing worked. Saw your heading for brother printer, but I decided to use it anyway. BOOM, it did the trick. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Main statement was when I heard, if windows 10 not present select windows 8.1 64 bit.
I discovered that those who have python 3 installed on win 10 the canon scanner and other drivers do not work anymore, they only work with the same Windows with many limitations
So, I followed every step from the video and it still doesn't work. I have an old printer, MFC - 250C. So, could it be that printer drivers are totally uncompatible with Windows upgrade or is it something wrong with the printer? To say, scaning works which meens there is conection through cable....

am I supposed to have to do this every time I need to scan something? seems every couple days i need to do this :( Printer ip is static, there should be no reason why this keeps quitting

This seems like a ridiculous solution - not your fault. Microsoft Windows Fax & Scan worked fine till the day after an update. Now it cannot see the printer (Brother all in one). Just farcical I think.
I did this and it didnt work. My pc is hooked through the broad band router to the printer. The printer can scan and send it to the pc but the pc can not successfully print. I can print through the router to the printer from my ipad no problem.

All very well - and I printed the test page - but my printer does not show up so unable to change printer settings - I need to change from A4 to A3 regularly mfc6490cw .... anyone else have this problem?

when I downloaded the uninstall tool, and opened it, It says "failed to decompress the archive"
