63 here, started on ebay in 2004 !! quit ebay a few years back and now only poshmark. We have 3 grown sons, 41, 40 and 38..5 grands all in school, 20 ducks, 12 chickens, 3 dogs and goats due in the spring..We also do an approximately half acre garden every year.I cut back big league..happy to leave the thrift with only 20 or so items...that will sell at a minimum of $30...not really high dollar...but tired of spending my time photographing, listing sharing etc for a $10 profit. It can take over your life if you allow it...and I promise you , life passes way faster than you think it will. Will likely never quit...I find thrifting good therapy...
I'm really enjoying my 40s! I agree that it's not the same as it used to be. I think many women I know in their 40s feel comfortable in themselves and are taking on new challenges, not feeling old. It feels like a new era for me where I don't have to do what everyone expects of me. I love that you focus on available brands. I get discouraged by the resellers who focus on the big brands. If I can buy something for $1 or less and flip it for $20 while spending a limited amount of time sourcing ams listing, I'm a happy camper!
Hello Denali! I turn 40 in February as well (the 7th) I still feel like I did in my late 20s lol, Time has flown by! Happy early birthday! Just enjoy the next decade, and I hope many blessings come your way!
Happy early birthday Aquarius! Not sure if you’re into astrology but Pluto is about to be in Aquarius (google it) - the next 20 years is supposed to be wild for us!! 😯
@@elducho Thanks Denali! Not into Astrology used to believe in it until I became a Christian and believer in Jesus ☺️🙏 I am excited for the future, knowing God has amazing plans for my life 👍, congratulations on your reselling success, you were one of the first RUclipsrs I started watching, and an inspiration to keep me going 💝☺️
I can’t wait to see your new space! I know you’ll succeed at anything you do, so I can’t wait to see your new business model. And cheers to ‘84 babies! 🎉
I’m doing something similar because I’m tired of having to deal with so many different platforms and employees. I already started closing my accounts on other platforms. I want to focus on one store on one platform.
Congrats to you! I got off social media as a pull back from my business... so along the same lines. It feels good to figure out what we do and don't like and be able to adjust. Self employment has its' perks. ALSO: My sales are fine on poshmark and I've never used promoted listings.
I burnt out in my business as a solo. I had to take half of the year off I did nanny but I am ready to get back on but maybe only one platform not sure if eBay should be main or posh. one of my stressors was same item selling on both platforms and I had to cancel sales. So I may just have one main platform and not cross list but hand picked item for the secondary platform. All the best with your new store
I get it - burn out it real. Side note, I use Vendoo for crosslisting and Vendoo now has a feature that auto detects when an item sells on a platform and auto-deletes it from your other selling platforms!
I think we are all scaling back and honing in on our expertise and then leaving behind the "filler" jobs we had in 2023. I know that I am moving to a strictly fulfillment model like Thredup or RealReal and leaving our office lease this year also. We are also leaning into our digital skills and less reselling skills for 2024 as we set to live a nomad life for the year.
Happy New Year! I'm on my second month of trying promoted closet and so far it's ok. It doesn't feel like items are necessarily selling more quickly because of it but I think I want to continue for six months in total and see if the results are worth the spend. I wonder if the weekly budget amount effects the how visible our items are as well? At the end of the day it is a write off so might as well try. :)
Promoted closet doesn’t work. What I’ve noticed with all live shows there ppl expect same low prices in closets and send low ball offers more often than in used to be
I may have missed this, but are you going back to not having employees as well? I got rid of my VA and downsized last year and it was a good decision for me.
What are your resolutions or 2024 plans?

i love this! and relate. i don't want an empire, i just want enough: enough money, enough time with my family and enough peace of mind.
Exactly - THIS is true success!
lol I turned 40 last Sept. things change life is fluid. You get to decide how you live your life❤️ Keep evolving✨ Love you chats!

I think your changes sound great! Smaller definitely can be better if it fits your life better. Best luck!
I hope so! Thank you!
I like thrifting that’s why I got in to reselling
I love it also!

Happy early birthday!
New subscriber here ! Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for subbing!
Denali, do you use ebays promoted listings in addition to your 65% off? How do you make a profit?
🎉 I think "over the hill" is over. I think it's now "live long and prosper" 😅 You and I are exactly 20 years apart. Are you a Virgo also? ❤ new vision
Not a Virgo, an Aquarius ♒️- love the live long and prosper! 🖖
@@elducho oh yes, like my daughter. Happy birthday coming up

Interesting. How long did you use promoted closet for before stopping?
@@elducho there was 2 week trial. I sold 2 Lululemon items through promoted closet which I would sold eventually so I decided not to pay for that

No plans as of this moment.
