My first go-round with dengue took me a month to fully get back to 100%. The good part, there are 4 types of dengue... once you have had each one, you almost cannot get the same one again. That said, one of them is the hemorrhagic kind... that just kills you! WooHoo!
Living in the tropics for so many years, I managed to get it twice! So I have 2/4 types! My wife had Chikungunya... they call the 'bone breaker'... since it feels like you have someone breaking your bones.. over and over and over...
Rest... Rest... Rest... that is the best!

It's great that you are getting better so fast, I wish you quick recovery. :) On the other note, not going to hospital for three days with such symptoms is really irresponsible.

We had discovered the dengue fever cure, our child patient with dengue fever having only 15 platelets count after drinking Silver water for 5 hours the platelets rose to 120 counts, succeeding moments the child is back to its normal state, amazing! This is really true, wanna try it?

Glad you're feeling better. Dengue is really common in KL, also Penang (where I am). Lots of signs up warning about mosquitoes and gruesome pix of the haemorrhagic version (where the blood comes out) . A friend treated her son with a mixture of boiled up papaya seeds (I think she said she boiled them for three hours) and he was sorted pretty quickly.
The mosquitoes which carry Dengue come out during the day, and of course the humidity encourages them.Take it easy.

Dengue is endemic in Malaysia because of the tropical environment, and prevalence of stagnant water in towns & cities where people live. The best way of not getting it is to reduce your chances of getting bit by aedes mosquitoes or the number of bites.
People worry about the dangerous animals of Australia, but far more people have died of dengue than from snakes, spiders, and sharks.

Glad you getting better now. I totally understand how you felt during dengue fever. I got dengue fever 2 years back. It was a pain, and I was admitted to hospital for 3 to 4 days. Besides drinking a lot of water or isotonic, We, Chinese in Malaysia has a couple traditional prescription for dengue fever, first one is papaya leaf juice, which tastes very awful. The second one is frog meat stew bitter gourd.

I've been living in Malaysia since 2011, particularly in the suburbs of Ipoh city since 2011. A lot of my friends who had been unfortunate to get dengue fever had been just back from a visit to KL. Usually authorities take information about the residence and spray chemicals around the area. I hope they did the same in your area, else you may suggest it to the doctor to contact the authorities, especially since there are many cases!

Ugh, take the time to rest. Sounds like when I was hit with Mono & Lyme at once, which threw me into my migraines with lost eyesight and vomiting almost daily. Never felt so sick but never rested enough. Had 5 kids, with 3 being toddlers, so resting was limited as it was and always more to do. After 3 months when I finally was getting better, hosted and cooked a holiday dinner for 22. Knocked me out for 20 hrs, landing in hospital and relapse of being sick another 2 months. Not worth it. Take time to heal, or it backfires.

Yes, the feeling of lethargic or lack of energy after recovering from dengue fever will last for about a month or two.
My experience then after contracting the disease was that it will undergo 3 to 5 days of severe muscle and bone pain, headache and high fever periods, third days into the fever i basically need to crawl to get to the washroom due to severe muscle pain. And the platelets count only start to drop towards the end of your fever or at time after the fever is over and that's the most dangerous time according to doctor.
You need to drink lots and lots of water, including coconut water as it helps you to pee a lot yet prevent you from dehydration. just like most patient will be put on a drip for days once admitted to hospital. There is no medicine to cure dengue fever so recovery depends on your own immune system. Hope you will get well soon.

you could have taken taxi to johor bahru, HSIJB(government hospital), 40 minutes drive from singapore. We have limited pricing, multiple tests in government hospitals are cheap or exempted for infectious disease(i.e dengue fever), you would pay less amount for 1 week admission in a Malaysian Government Hospital( for infectious disease) compared to an outpatient visit in a Singapore hospital.
