Gosh dang! This looks like so much fun! Holding out for the new spec bump version of the Onyx CTY!… Because it’s a lighter bike comes in around 90 pounds as opposed to the Onyx RCR which is 150 pounds, however if I had the money currently… It be hard to say no regardless. That trail just made me want to be there SO MUCH🙏
@@samjohnson517 it cleared the fork brace but just by a hair. I ended up grinding the holes on the brace just a tad bit more so i can raise it up enough to give the tire more space.
Hello, been looking at these but they have been out of stock www.treatland.tv/dual-spring-rate-progressive-adjustable-shocks-p/super-awesome-shocks-360gii.htm They do have the shorter ones though, also looking at the shocks with the reservoirs, problem is I think the reservoir will hit his rack unless I turn them around I guess we'll see.
Hi Sam, great video! I just ordered the same 241 tires. When you changed the rear, did you keep the use the same process to remove as the front? Did u detached the phase cable from the controller in the side panel?
Hello glad you liked it! I should have put the rear tire removal in the video since that's the difficult part but no you do not need to disconnect the cable, just cut the zip ties and there will be enough slack in the cable to get the wheel off, oh you might need to remove the pedal and drape the cable over the crank arm if you need to.
no it is stock I think it would get the most power boost from a battery that can crank out some amps, I hear the stock controller is rated at 200amps which is enough.
Do u have the 23ah or the 41ah? Also the kelly controller is heavily tuneable to unleash the real beast! Its all accessable via Bluetooth that is stock included.
@@NickDaTech the onyx is my sons. he has the 23ah battery he wants the 41 ah, it moves pretty good as it is he hits about 58 59 mph I do not want him going 80mph anyway, he would do it if he could! lol, but I may build him a battery later on.
@@samjohnson517 You can tweek the kelly controller app for more torque but there's no way to increase the top speed but I get that if its your sons bike I'd probably wouldn't mess with it too much either. Good looking out for him! Cheers
I need your help. I want to order these tires for my enduro ebike (same as your enduro ebike) but there's too many different sizes and very confusing. Tires I have on my bike now are 80/100-19 0n 19" rims. (RIM 1.85x19) but on my rims it says 1.60x19. Anyway can you please send me the exact model and size on your enduro Ebike? THX or send me the link.
How did you get the washers and spacers back on the front tire. I am having trouble, it's really a tight on the front right side with the larger spacer? Thanks.
You could probably unbolt that fork brace on one side and that will allow you to separate the forks a little bit I didn't have to though it went right on
The Onyx looks awesome. You might just try lighter springs on it. He seems lightweight. For the shocks try 0 or 5 weight oil and emulators. Might have to find someone to machine custom emulators for the shock tubes. I know you can get emulators for older bikes and setups.
Dang why pops doing all the hard work, let the kid earn them on, he'll appreciate it more that way.
what a cool ass dad...keep up the content

Thanks for the video, I'll be getting these too since I live in new England and a bunch of roads are dirt.
Hello, yes I think you're going to like them they work really well.
Great Video 🙌🏼 definitely gonna get those tires also for my onyx
I like that wood look. It's different.
I love the Shinko 241’s on my Onyx i got the 3.00x17’s. I also replaced my rear shocks with the Egoboosts from Treatland.
Nice! So the 3.00 is clear the front fork support? Going to check out those rear shocks

why does the website state that the rims are 18 inch. I don't understand.
Subscribed waiting for that rear shock mod!

Kenda k273 are also reallly good have on my bomber bit more aggressive but super supple

I’m thinking bout getting these would I need a stablizer for the front forks?
Hello no, so long as you use the same size you will not have to modify anything to make these work.
Did you notice any difference in range?
@@charlespringle3552 no not really
You should make some how to videos for the ONYX. That’s what the ONYX community is missing.

Hello they are Shinko 241 size 275x19 I think you're looking for the Enduro bike the onyx would be 275 x17
Thx for your prompt reply. There are several types. Dual Sport, SR241 Trials, etc. which you have on the enduro? Thx again.
I have the same tires on the Enduro you will like them they are great on and off road and and they are not very expensive
I guess you didn’t understand my question but anyway, I’m getting the SR 241 trails
@@yourstruly9340 I'm not sure about trials, mine do not say that, here is a link

His only has the black spacer on the right side then the washers are on the outside of the fork on the axle

Do these tires come with tubes?
No you can use the old tubes
I got these in 17x3. Will that still work? I believe yours are 17x2.75?
The 3" may rub on the fork brace
Are these the 3.0” or the 2.75” versions?
Hello, they are the 2.75 versions
I'm planning on changing my stock onyx drt tires to these shinko 241's did you use the original tubes or install new tubes?
Does he have a shrty or standard sized?
The bike was purchased as a standard size but later we put shorty shocks on it
@@samjohnson517 excuse my ignorance but idk anything about bikes. But do you need to buy tubes for the tire or can’t they be replaced without ?
Sorry I was replying to the wrong question you can use the stock tubes if you want to

Specs?
How can I get your help to build a bike like yours. Please help if you have any time dm me

I would love an onyx but I'm too broke 😭😭😭😭

I really did not like those shinko. Getting the Vuro DRT & Streets.
Are they noisy? I run the kenda krusades on an Lectric xp and Im not happy with durability.
I really do not notice any noise from them over the noise from the motor
