He was so transparent. That's why people loved him so much. He didn't try to hide his pain. He shared his human experiences. It made him real. What a beautiful man. Loved and missed. 💖
Ever since I was a little girl (like 4 seriously) I loved David. I was hospitalized with acidosis right before I went into kindergarten and I didn’t know it, but I almost didn’t make it. I was trying to sing with the Partridge Family on the radio on the way to the hospital but my respiratory system was shutting down…and I started to lose consciousness….still…a couple weeks later , I left Buffalo Children’s hospital with a gift of a vinyl of Up to Date. I swear that music healed me, lol! But, anyways, even as a little kid I remember laughing at “Keith Partridge” and thinking “It’s so nice of him to be funny for us.” It was hard to imagine that someone who seemed beautiful and perfect would actually have insecurities, and David’s self-deprecating humor was always to his credit. A few years ago my daughter and I binged all The Partridge Family shows. My daughter had been between first and second grade, and she just loved “Keith” too! When she got to school she was writing The Partridge Family on her notebooks and it turned out her teacher was my age and had LOVED David Cassidy too! We were heartbroken when he passed, not a whole year later. To this day my daughter who is now 15 and I share a special bond because of David’s music and his soul that transcends generations.
This was David as his very best, mature, reflective, softly spoken, articulate. He had picked himself up from the state he was in around 1990, smartened himself up, looked dashing and handsome, found happiness and recognition as an actor, he was married and had a son, a happy homelife. You just want to hold on to him and protect him from what was to happen to him in the future. Selina Scott was beautiful and she conducted the best interview there has ever been with David.
Watching The Partridge Family i never would think David had suffered so much. He suffered so much! Watching this made my eyes watery because he was such a real, raw person that deserves more recognition. I miss him so much!!!! 😔😔😔😔 I also agree when he said he felt the teen idol image had stunted his image that he really wanted to portray. It kinda upsets me when people label David as only a teen idol or a pop icon. Because he was so much more than that. ❤️
One of the best interviews I’ve seen of him in his latter years. So articulate ,honest and and just drop dead gorgeous still. You can see how towards the end even the interviewer starting to fall for his charm.
I could listen to David all day long! Such an upright honest guy and so element on on point. Also Selina is the image of the late Beautiful Princess of Wales. May the Princess of Wales and David rest in peace! 💕💕💕💕
Brautiful singer beautiful voice angel best entertainer ever beautiful soul god bless david everyday forever always wish we could turn the clock back bring david back i wish i give anthing to see david again
DC is a cultural icon representing the musical beauty & intensity of his generation -- of which I identify with & thrive on, especially when I listen to DC's albums of the 1970's & 1990's which live on, forever in our hearts!
I fully agree he was and is so special in peoples memories....he leaves a big void ....but beautiful memories he will be loved and remembered and celebrated forever xx
Wow. What an interview. So thoughtful. Do reflective and articulate. And sort of full of pain despite his claim to the contrary. He just feels sad to me even though he’s on the up here. He’s a lovely man isn’t he? That laugh. That face. I miss this guy. And I can feel the depression somehow and only wish he found the happiness in life he deserved. RIP I so hope you are at peace DC
Absolutely! To both comments. I’m glad I’m not the only one that can see the truth behind his statements. I saw an interview with him where he talked about hating giving interviews. So when he finally gave in to doing them, he determined he was going to say what people wanted to hear. He tells truth about everything else, except about how he’s really feeling/doing. I saw that interview very early on in my quest for everything David Cassidy the past few months. Since then, that is all I see. The truth behind his front. I’ve cried a lot watching his story. I love his laugh, as well. He most certainly was a lovely man. Beautiful. Inside and out. I agree with everything you’ve said.
What a great interview. David looked and sounded great and the interviewer let him talk and brought out some really great insights into him and his life. RIP David.
Hi was very handsome but also a easy going guy who wanted to be accepted for who he was n not what people saw on TV...Never saw him speak down to anyone and he always had time for fans ..see ya in the next life .be happy n hope David has found peace xo
Such a natural and honest person, such a beautiful person through and through. Rest in Peace and thank you for sharing so much and giving your goodness to the world.
What a truthful and very sad interview. You were loved by so many people, yet the real love you needed from your father eluded you. It’s heartbreaking.
Wow, I finally found this interview.I recorded this one on VHS back then when it was broadcasted but years later I cannot find the tape anymore. Thanks for uploading!
What an amazing interview,Selina Scott really looked like she was interested in what David was saying, asking the right questions, letting him speak without interruption,so we got to listen to David,I think speaking from his heart, telling us what it was like for him, both in the past, and when this interview was made. Yet again you can see how much David respected his fans, when he talks about the "crap"merchandise that was being sold to the fans,he always seemed angry about that, that he didn,t want us to be ripped off,he mentioned that several times over the years. But it's when he speaks of his father, what Jack Cassidy was like with him and not getting his father's arms around him, giving him the praise and support that David so badly needed,he missed that love right until his passing, that you really feel for David, not as a mega superstar, but as a human being,no child deserves that. Thank you for making this video, wonder how many more of these gems are out there!
I was absolutely enthralled and riveted watching this!! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful man’s interview. David was a bright, eloquent, and very caring man and we were blessed to have him in our lives.
A very GREAT interview of where he was TRULY himself and seemed happy, but in his eyes, you could kind of see the emotional trauma he had of how he was treated and perceived by his father. And I particularly liked that Selina ( the interviewer) really allowed David to speak without all of the interruption of questions. This was again...a really wonderful interview. Thank you SO much for sharing! I miss and love DC SO much!! ❤😢🙏⚘
The industry destroyed David Cassidy. It was disgusting. He was a great talent but after his very Young success they didn’t know how to market him at all. I wish it had have turned out better for him but sadly it didn’t, and when the drinking started the media loved to see him of guard. RIP David no one can take away my happy sweet memories of you.
A remarkable interview! He seemed to have it so together here. What in the world could have happened after this to spiral his life downward so? It makes me so very, very sad.
This interview is a real gem, it is such a pleasure to watch it and listen to it. What a beautiful person inside and outside. She did great interviewing David and letting him tel his story without interruption, marvelous. Thank you very much for your effort to give this gift to us, his everlasting fans 💕
What an incredible interview! It really shows just how truly articulate, thoughtful and intelligent he was, despite everything he went through. Every time I think I’ve read or watched everything there is “out there” about him, someone finds another jewel and posts it for all his fans to keep him memory alive! Thank you so much!! 💝💝💝
Yes an amazing interview really brings home the heart of how beautiful a person David was..xx and Love him so much and want to help maintain his legacy xx
Love this interview. One of my favorites. Thanks for posting it. Saw this interview yesterday on David Cassidy Web Site. Now I can share it with others.
Great interview. David looks fabulous in this interview. He was such a beautiful person, heart and soul. I feel his pain and can relate to it. Love you david! Ill see you on the other side. Love that face and those lips. So beautiful!
The Bay City Rollers had the same thing happen to them. Everyone seemed to profit, except the guys themselves. Fame is NOT what it is cracked up to be!!
Beautiful, intelligent, talented David just didnt know how to keep that early childhood pain from rearing its ugly head at times in his life. I really think he worked so hard at surviving from such a young age, that at the end he just got too tired.
You should watch him eat. He was nothing but impressive. Always. Even when he struggled. He was such a beautiful person from what I can tell and what those who knew him said. Just a huge sad loss. 😢💔
David Cassidy is a well behaved and a awesome person he had a hard and also easy life but he tried his best on everything that's all we can do we are not made perfect he really did express himself best he could we are not perfect but alot of people think they no body is perfect only God is
All these interviews were like therapy sessions for him. Love David and so glad there is so much out there of him to look at. At some point in the 90's he cut his gorgeous hair and became a new person.
I absolutely love your channel, you are one of the very best that has done the Videos, etc of David Cassidy. I love to hear David talk about his own life, instead of all the lies, people tell on him, that knew absolutely nothing about, him personally. I’m so happy, I got the chance to know the real David Cassidy, instead of just the Star, that he was. Thank You ❤️ David will always live on in my heart, forever. ❤️
As I watch this, it suddenly occurred to me that he could have channelled all his pain into helping others. Perhaps there is no point to bringing this up now that he has passed, but as I've started to believe in the "Law of Attraction," David seemed to speak SO frequently about his addiction, sadness, problems, teen idol woes, instead of focussing on his amazing talent and abilities. He could have used his celebrity to uplift the world. RIP David~~~
He was so transparent. That's why people loved him so much. He didn't try to hide his pain. He shared his human experiences. It made him real. What a beautiful man. Loved and missed. 💖
Absolutely. Loved him, his soul.

He was as intelligent and kind as he was handsome. Such a tortured, yet beautiful soul.
This! 💯 😢💔

I so agree with you. I can't stop watching his videos, but I feel so haunted by it all. It was all so sad.

David Cassidy has always wore his heart on his sleeve. Such a tragic end to a great talent.
Gosh what a handsome man and those dreamy eyes
I love this beautiful man. Rest in Peace. Makes me sad.
This interview is so open and honest and portrays that David was happy at certain stages in his life although he had a very sad ending. RIP.
David was amazing. Such a loss. 💕

So insightful and articulate.
Absolutely gorgeous.miss u handsome man x x ❤❤
Me too 😢
And his voice was as smooth as butter.
wonderful to hear him so candidly speaking of his father. I see his dad in his face. So sorry for missed opportunities....we all have them.
It took him in the end how sad we lost him
A lot of people made a lot of money off of him! So soft spoken so handsome. Good interview.
The Bay City Rollers had the same thing happen to them. Everyone seemed to profit, except the guys themselves. Fame is NOT what it is cracked up to be!!
Many sitcoms stars got ripped off, Different Strokes, Happy Days, Waltons, etc. Sad but true.
Beautiful, intelligent, talented David just didnt know how to keep that early childhood pain from rearing its ugly head at times in his life. I really think he worked so hard at surviving from such a young age, that at the end he just got too tired.
Beautifully worded insight.
This! 💯 😢💔
What a handsome guy he was !
If David had parents that protected him, think his life would have been e turned out so much better…
wow. bittersweet memories of his dad
This is wonderful. That was a good time in his life. I had never heard the story before about his dad quitting smoking.
I’ve always enjoyed DC as a singer, but had no idea he was so well spoken. Gone much too soon.
You should watch him eat. He was nothing but impressive. Always. Even when he struggled. He was such a beautiful person from what I can tell and what those who knew him said. Just a huge sad loss. 😢💔
David Cassidy is a well behaved and a awesome person he had a hard and also easy life but he tried his best on everything that's all we can do we are not made perfect he really did express himself best he could we are not perfect but alot of people think they no body is perfect only God is
I had David's poster on my wardrobe door and kissed him on the lips every night before bed 🛌
We all did. What was more exciting than a new Tiger Beat with poster of HIM?!
In England it was Jackie magazine. Raced to the newsagent with my pennies every Thursday for my latest David fix.
He looked his best in the 90's.
He looked mature in the 90's.
Yes, he matured very well. More handsome, if possible than his 20s
So beautiful . . .
Wonderful interview.
All these interviews were like therapy sessions for him. Love David and so glad there is so much out there of him to look at. At some point in the 90's he cut his gorgeous hair and became a new person.
Dam! He was FINE!
I bet in life, he was flattered various ethnic groups and multi-generations found him cute. He was a nice looking guy.
Great interview
Awe! How Nice David Cassidy...
Yess!
I absolutely love your channel, you are one of the very best that has done the Videos, etc of David Cassidy.

Thanks Debbie !
Mine too. ❤

I think he had charities, but was never a big fan beyond PF. I totally agree with you.
The opposite of depression is vitality and DC shows it in this interview 😘
❤ 😍 RIP
💋
He could never embrace his popularity & enjoy it. How sad. Always offensive. It carried thru his life.
Sounds like great popularity wasnt what he was really looking for, but valued hard work, creative satisfaction & just mere appreciation.
Rest easy David Cassidy and thank you for all you gave to the world
