Blame the system. This is what happens when people believe in nonsense religions and cant think critically for themselves and are being low educated. These problems will exist for thousands of years to come because we still have these medieval systems in place. Same with all the arab countries they will still have war for thousands of years because they cant adopt their brains.
@White Pelt Cat totally agree with you wpc but we as indians also don't support such stuff like karl said in this video. Watching those lawyers i felt how backwards can a person be. I now believe most of the indians especially younger are not even aware people are talking these things being "educated".
Right, whenever women's safety topic comes up Most of the Indian men do whataboutism and somehow manage to blame everything on women, and shamelessly call the issues fake.
@Alex Berkeson I understand what you feel like. I am an Indian but I can't be proud of my country knowing that we live among these kind of people. The problem is that there are more percentage of uneducated people than those who are literate. The uneducated people live their lives in the ways they're brought up in and this makes their narrow minded thinking grow. In their lifestyle women are seen as objects or slaves who are supposed to tend to every need of the men or children. They aren't seen as humans who should get equal opportunities. Instead they are seen as workers who should just cook and look after the household. In my village itself, the men are served food first and all the women are allowed to eat only after everyone else is fed. Moreover, the women eat whatever is left of the food they cooked. So a lot of backward thinking like this exists in our country and unfortunately that degrades the country's reputation both inside as well as outside the country. The real problem arises when these people try to interfere and defend themselves and this stupid mindset they hold. In their eyes, they see modernization as a sin and as a disgrace to our culture. This is because they think our culture is about how we dress up and how we present ourselves. A lot of topics are looked upon as being a taboo. Eg. Sex, dating etc. Since the educated population see these as natural behavior and not anything to be ashamed about, it creates a difference between the two. I myself have been criticized a lot in my own village for having difference of opinions and mindset. Lastly, I'm sorry for what you and your friend went through. If it isn't for these people, India is a beautiful country with lots to discover. And problems are present in every country, I think instead of fighting about which country has what problems, we should focus on helping each other and standing as a mass against people with backward thinking and try to educate them about the right things because these people exist all over the world.
@akshay satish no no, I don't live in a village, that's the place I belong to. I'm from a small district in Orissa but I was brought up in Bangalore. @@MathewZ788 Actually, do not smile at strangers...like when going out, in markets, etc. In India, these kind of bad men actually take advantage, start following you if you are a foreigner and smiled at them..again, don't get me wrong, not all men are bad but those who are bad... a smile is enough to make then stalk you. Unfortunately, that's part of the India culture where women aren't supposed to just smile at random men, it's considered wrong for women to do. I know some people will argue, but please know im an Indian as well. For many Indians (especially the not so well educated), women are seen as something lower than men (like a property or toy).. even for Indian women, it's forbidden to wear skirts, Jeans etc. in many families. Again part of culture which brings about this looking down on women.
As an indian woman...I am in tears literally....it's not as if I don't know this.... To those who are speaking about stats... Many Indian women don't report sexual assault or molestation because she is not the victim but culprit for enticing men...... The society shames her , calls her names and no marriage for her.... Society find reason as to why rape happened? Short clothes? Out in the late evening? Must be characterless... as seen in this video also.... While developed countries are a better when it comes to this...
Unfortunately, where there's not much education or no education at all, and there's still a patriarcal heritage in the culture, you see these horrible situations a lot more often. Women should be treated like flowers to care of, not like objects or house slaves.
My friends went to India a few weeks ago with their small children. People were staring at them and taking up close pictures of them and their children, following them around, saying nasty things to his wife. Little children in groups came up to them trying to tickle them while yanking their jewelry. They were all terrified and traumatized from being there and never want to go back.

There are a lot of horror stories of western women travelling without male company in ANY country that is not European, east asian or American. If you're a western woman you're very naive if you go to these places alone. They make the mistake of thinking, this is just like back home where everything is clean, orderly, traffic rules, men respect women etc. Not true, the woman in the video should consider herself lucky.
"if she s doing immoral things with other guy, why is she not doing with me" that is exactly the mentality of some men..... Nobody could said it better than you karl.. Respect man..you are doing a great job..truly in India Specially Delhi local people are also facing the same problem with women safety.. It was really painful to hear that lawyer.. damm man don't know when this gonna stop.
Western porn has a very bad influence because of that many men think all foreigners are like prostitutes .This thing needs to change and men needs to understand all western women are not like those.
Dude, I've watched and enjoyed a few of your vids. However, I don't see how anyone can enjoy their travel to India if it turns into a survival battle as you said. We spent 3 weeks in India everything booked by a travel agent and still had to deal with similar experiences everyday. Just not worth it mate!. Better off going to Sri Lanka or beautiful Nepal.
Being an indian, Im ashamed. This happens all around the world, but in india we hear disgusting ways of inserting bloody tools in a woman's private parts and draining them off by removing their organs. This is bad okay. And this is getting worse. India as a country is not that bad tbh. People travelling north is more certain to have experienced this. Also, i woudlnt like to bring up north south differences because I cant promise you something more worse won't take place in south india. The need of the hour is to react. I totally agree with him. You need to be aggressive if u wanna survive in India. U need to know basic escape techniques in India. Dont foregt that there are good people too. By god's grace, i have not experienced anything of this sort. Be happy and strong. Stand up for yourself coz everyone else is too busy and selfish. We can't trust the police or the government even after hearing a number of rape cases EVERYDAY. I don't hear the government nor the police acknowleding their mistake of letting us down in this regards.
@the_plague *doctor* Search North America, brazi, Venzuela and some parts of south africa. They just want to show the worst sides of India cause its developing and they know this will ruin their image in future
Hot Star you don’t need to search. The news is all over the places about how bad it is in those areas (at least parts of them). Here in the US, mostly everyone acknowledges our short comings. The problem is that India gives off the image of being a spiritual refuge. And while that may be true, the dark side of the country is rarely spoken about..and that was partly due to international relations favoring Indian growth. So your point makes such little sense. Are you saying Karl and that white girl are part of some scheme to throw down the Indian economy? Lol have you seen this guy’s channel? His videos are actually the few things persuading me to visit!
As an Indian, I cannot believe this. I knew Delhi was unsafe for tourists (especially women and children) but this is going too far. We need our government to solve this.
I was born in India and now live in Canada. Instead of fully appreciating Canada, I took it for granted. This video, on the other hand, portrayed how my life would be if I lived in India. Hope India gets better.
my wife says the same thing. We both were born there. I came to the US when I was about to turn 3 (1979) and my wife came when she was 7 (1987). Her parents go back every year. She says she never wants to go back...especially hearing about stories like this.
@@BeingBenaam dude, that is not a fact. India is one of the worst countries in the world to be for a women. There is no facts that can back up your statement. Men there think that a woman should not be out after dark? Why? Cause she is up to no good? What if she came back from work late and had to stop and pick up a few items at the store? Oh wait, most Indian men don’t think women should even have jobs. It’s a disaster there and even being a guy, I would not want to go there.
Why is it boiling? Is it because the number of rapes happening in India is a fraction of that happening in US and Europe but still Americans and Europeans keep lecturing Indians on women safety?

This should be the top comment.
I am an Indian woman and I am living in UK for past three years. I have done uncountable journeys in India alone. I have learned a lot about keeping myself safe. BUT I will never advice any girl to travel alone in India or outside India. My parents were quite broad minded during my time of studies but I am not going to let my girl or any girl from my family to travel alone.
But I will not say that it’s only in india, it is actually everywhere. Even in UK, there as certain places where we do not go. The cycle of literacy and widen inequality gap. Only 1% of the elites in India held on to 40% of the national wealth, smart people moved out of India hence brain drain. In China, at least government spend some effort to develop the education and their A tier city like Shanghai so that once those university graduated once they step out, they will have job opening for them even tho they still need to complete with 1000 people per interview. For India, job opening are usually based on hierarchy what level of caste background you're from to determine whether you get the job or not.
It's been a year, Have your government solved this?
I was born in India and now live in Canada. Instead of fully appreciating Canada, I took it for granted. This video, on the other hand, portrayed how my life would be if I lived in India. Hope India gets better.
I'm 13
Edit: I am 14 now
my wife says the same thing. We both were born there. I came to the US when I was about to turn 3 (1979) and my wife came when she was 7 (1987). Her parents go back every year. She says she never wants to go back...especially hearing about stories like this.
@@BeingBenaam lies
@@BeingBenaam dude, that is not a fact. India is one of the worst countries in the world to be for a women. There is no facts that can back up your statement. Men there think that a woman should not be out after dark? Why? Cause she is up to no good? What if she came back from work late and had to stop and pick up a few items at the store? Oh wait, most Indian men don’t think women should even have jobs. It’s a disaster there and even being a guy, I would not want to go there.
Hey, India is becoming a safe country. These things happen in rural or few areas and not entirely across India in every state.
Karl brother. I pray for you. Thank you so much for this. Means so much
I'm literally 1 second into the video and my blood is already boiling 😤
Are you ok ? Wait am buying a spicy chai for u
@@ironpatriot6053 tea is fantastic across the border!
Why is it boiling? Is it because the number of rapes happening in India is a fraction of that happening in US and Europe but still Americans and Europeans keep lecturing Indians on women safety?
@muzzammil shah You liar. No such thing happens in India. Do you have any evidence to prove this?
There's something deeply wrong with this culture! Unbelievable
