I just picked up the M73p - It is basically the same as the M93P. It has a i5 4570T with 8gn ram- same processor as the M93p. Pad $80 on Ebay. Installed it with windows and ppssp was really bad with God of War. I could not even get it to work on 1X. I then installed it on Batocerra and wow what a difference compared to windows. I can run God of War chains of Olympus at 2X full speed and almost every other ppssp game at 3X. Gamecube works at 3X as well. Bottom line don't even bother with Windows - just use Batoceria it's so much faster. This so so much better than the Raspberry PI not sure why more people haven't tried it out. I love this so much that I selling my Raspberry Pi on Ebay.

I bought an m93p based on your previous video on it. It's great! It's our family TV PC. One note however. It's kinda difficult to get 4k 60Hz out of it if you don't have a DisplayPort capable TV or Monitor. You'll need two things: 1. An active DP-->HDMI adapter, and 2. A sound bar or other source of audio. When you manually crank the display resolution to 4k 60 in the advanced display settings, it will work, but you won't get audio unless you plug something in to the 3.5mm audio jack.

So this is basically an older version (Haswell) of the ThinkCentre Tiny. While it's pretty old, it can still handle your basic everyday stuff and emulation just fine. Also great for HTPC use.
BTW, why do so many youtubers insist on using that Etcher bloatware when there are far more lightweight applications available for flashing disk images (Win32DiskImager, Rufus, etc).

I've always wanted to pick up one of these Thinkcentre Tiny machines. I just bought an M73 Tiny yesterday that should be here in a few days. M73 also can have the i5 4570T just like the M93p, which is something to keep in mind for those looking at these. The deciding factor for me was the unit I got had the 8GB of RAM, and I think it has the HDD bracket too. The M93p is still tempting and I might have to grab one of those. I like that it has five USB 3 ports. It's amazing to see how inexpensive these are now compared to a few years ago, but such is the nature of tech. As cool as SBCs are, at these prices, I'd go with these used Thinkcentre Tiny machines every time for my purposes.

Right now these 2400GE based computers are selling for ~300, but once these are out of rotation i expect them to sell for $100 on ebay, as many companies just want to get rid of them and will sell lthem to 'recyclers' for as little as $20, or even free

I actually ran some tests with this exact model, and while it probably can't run the PS2 games most people are thinking of, stuff that's more Arcade-style should be okay. Basically most side- or vertical-scrolling shoot 'em ups, a surprising amount of fighting games (2D stuff like Shin Gokuetsuji and KOF'02UM run perfectly, but all of the Tekkens seem to work as well!) and lotsa puzzle games for the PS2 will probably work fine.
Basically, epic adventures are out of question, but if it's something you'd plunk quarters into at an arcade, it should be fine.

Ahem, a RPi is WAY tinier. It's pretty unfair to compare a full fledged computer with a RPi. Mind that those Lenovo tiny PC's were costing $500-600 the day they were released, and they consume like 10 times more electricity. It just can't be compared :(
What is awesome is just the computing progress we live in, which could be faster if companies wouldn't slow it down on purpose just for the sake of selling more and more, but it's a progress anyways, which allows you to get a totally worth complete computer for daily use for less than $100.

The built-in wifi isn't easily compatible with Ubuntu so I bought a USB dongle. Also, my understanding is you can swap a few different processors in that may give you a bit more power.

Regarding missing the scrape of Marvel vs Capcom 2, hold the bottom button on your controller (X on PSX, A on XBOX, yellow/B on SNES) and it will bring up the Game Options menu. From there, you can go to scrape, and generally it will have a list of possible options, of which typically one is correct but the AI had trouble choosing between several.

It's been a while since I am trying to gather what could be the best miniPC on a budget (let's say 100-150 bucks total) to use as an emulation PC/device. I have been using so far a Raspberry pi 3b+ with Retropie.... the raspberry pi 4 and this one too seem all valid upgrades. What would you recommend, also considering...longvity let's say... I think - as far as I know - one can't expect a PS3 level on such budget....but I was wondering for a near-PS3 level what would be the best in this range. Thanks for the input ! :) I Will definitely take a deeper look at the lenovo.

This is very tempting. I want to wait for the RaspberryPi 5 to release (and hopefully that comes out this year even with the chip shortages) for a low power option but being able to play up to Wii would be nice. Dreamcast and PSP are the highest system I normally emulate.
One question related to this "build": Would Batocera or RetroPie be a better option than Android on a system like this or a RaspberryPi? I want to run Android TV so I can stream on the device and I've put in some money ($10+) on emulators and front-end apps so if I can use those apps I'd like to if there isn't a huge performance issue.

5:08: That's not correct. If the gamepad isn't detected right away you can configure it without pluging any keyboard. I tested it with 2 different gamepads that are not Sony nor Xbox pads, just third party cheap ones and if you keep pressing a button that window will popup and the wizard will start (Batocera 29). It's someway nice, as it keeps you away from using anything else than a gamepad, just like a console :)

The VGA and the DP outputs stop working, that's the number one thing that happens to these. If you can get one of the red stripe m900 or higher they tend to be better and don't have the bad videochips in them. HP and Dell make these Tiny PCs also, I would get one with a i5 6500T or better, it has Intel HD 530 graphics, the i7400t has intel HD graphics 630. They start out at 250 on Amazon, lil less on Ebay, but faster graphics and cooler processor.

I know when you see the drive size after install of Batocera and if you hook up SSD up to a PC it shows size to be way smaller. I was worried that something was wrong with partitions but I went ahead and installed roms and videos into Kodi anyway and so far I have 25+gb of roms and 150+gb of videos which is way above the stated size showing in properties so it seems to be using the full size of SSD. Give it another try and just fill 'er up past the stated size to check it is working.
