Swainson's warbler is an uncommon species that may be declining signficantly in some areas. They are small secretive birds that only give themselves away by their "big" voices.
This bird is in the forest near where we like to camp. It has one of the most beautiful bird voices! I've tried and tried to sight it, but unsuccessful so far. I've used Merlin Sound to identify it.
Spring 2019 I heard a suspicious bird singing in my neighborhood and found it to be this one. It sounds like the male is trying to tell a female, "here-here-here Get right here". I live in a developed residential neighborhood not far from a busy commercially developed street in CT close to the shoreline. Lots of trees and shrubs, along with woodlots and a small stream.
yeah ? well REALLY smart people enjoy God's beautiful creatures without KILLING them. If you're that hungry, have a peanut butter sandwich. No, you say ? well, carry on --- you will be reincarnated as a maggot. Or maybe as a beautiful buck, innocently enjoying it's environment when it has it's brains blown out. Ignorant people are sickening. You just can't enjoy something beautiful; you have to shoot it, kill it, hang it on your wall, etc. Totally stupid, unnecessary and pathetic. What are you all overcompensating for ? Insecure ? Short in the shorts ? It's super sad that you feel the need to stroke your feeble egos via bloodshed. Does blowing away Bambi make you feel like a man ? Toxic masculinity is a real thing and the world is dying because of it. ENOUGH.
