Testing 1982 Honda Express NC50 Reed Valves

A short video showing a comparison of original, likely worn out stainless reed valves vs. new Boyesen 2 stage reeds. I was having starting and tuning problems on my '82 2 speed, and noticed gas spitting back out the carb throat when kicking it over. That got my looking harder into the reed valves as the only cause for fuel to be backflowing. Sure enough they were worn out. Now it runs like a charm with the new valves installed. Checking your intake vacuum while kicking it over is a pretty easy way to check if they're doing the voodoo that they do. If you're getting anything but vacuum you may have a leak somewhere.
