On the 83 honda express deluxe, I have replaced the old carb with a new one. In your video I can't see what you did with the hose going to the old choke that comes from the intake below the carburetor. I assume you just plugged it. Please let me know.
My bike will run for a minute and then putter out and not start. Then after a bit gas will come out of overflow on bottom. Does that mean the float is stuck?
I have cleaned my carb many times... My problem is it starts and idles just fine But when I run it full throttle it will bog out...any chance it could be a bad venting gas cap?.. I bought a brand new honda outboard that never ran hard..it turned out to be a faulty gas cap... My express seems to have the same problem
I don't think it's a bad gas cap. Generally when it bogs out from giving it throttle, it's getting not enough gas and/or too much air. Most often there's some dirt blocking the main jet.
@@jackrutherford-1 I have a Chinese carb..but had trouble getting the cable through the bend.at the top.i will oil the inside to see if I can get it to pass through easier
@@justinmills2571 I generally run a hose between the inlet and outlet of the oil pump and just let the remaining oil in the pump continue to cycle around. Just find a hose/fuel line that kind of splits the difference between the inlet and outlet. The inlet is wider than the outlet.
Unless the float is too high shouldn’t the needle and seat stop gas from coming out the overflow? Thanks
Z Murray I would think

If the float is stuck, it will leak gas if you park it and leave the petcock in the "on" position.
I think it’s cool how the choke lever stays up how did u do that?
some of them come with a lever that stays up and locks in place.
churioz26 ok thank you

@@xjeepmanx There's another Chinese carb out there with a straight brass fitting instead of a curved one. That's the one I use on the urban express.
@@jackrutherford-1 can you give me the link to buy this carburetor
@@christopherhendershot5804 I can do that if you want one.
Do you have to premix your gas with this carburetor?
yes
@@jackrutherford-1 thanks for the reply! can you run the oil pump dry with no oil? Or do you need some kit to delete it?

Do you know what the jet size is on this carb?
I think it's slightly lower than the stock main jet on the Express which is usually a 75.
@@jackrutherford-1 Okay. Do you have a preferred jet brand?
@@macpatten9249 it takes the Keihin jets made for the nc50, nu50, na50, etc. You can find them at treatland.tv
