It has the standard 5G antenna, just not the mmWave 5G that Verizon in the US uses. I believe there is a few other countries which a carrier that may use mmWave 5G but most don't.
No since the networks there don't use 5G mmwave. It doesn't affect the standard 5G signal strength. For example lets say its 4G vs 3G antenna. If the networks in EU dont have 3G, it wont slow the 4G or degrade the 4G strength. So basically there is no negative to not having it, just wont work for any carrier that uses mmwave 5G technology (which there are very few carriers that do).
Is this recommendable to do at home? I have tiny water droplets JUST behind the lenses of my camera, but no further inconveniences, nor any particular damage. . . Well, except that I dropped my phone (in a shockproof case) on the ground and got a crack on it I didn't know about because it's under the case. Then, I submerged just the top quarter of it in the pool to record videos, but I assume that the water droplets got behind the lenses through the crack. Still, no particular damages other than that. My phone works just fine. Think I could take off the back plate just to wipe the lenses real quick? Please, let me know! :)
the rest of the world doesn't have 5mm wave. only the US so far widely supports it. the US version supports it. It is the same for iPhones, only the US variant has the 5 mm wave support.
Does the shape of the haptic feedback vibration motor matter? Cause I think the circular and square ones aren't as great as the rectangular ones (Apples)
What's the best way to remove moisture from a device? I'm more than capable of disassembling/reassembling a phone, but I would prefer to only mess with what is needed before the desiccant step.
Any of the ways of removing the moisture are pointless, because that won't help remove any of the corrosion inside from the moisture on the chips or connectors which will eventually lead to the phone shorting and parts not working anymore. Best is to take it apart, disconnect the battery, dry/clean out any moisture or water and then brush off any corrosion around chips or connectors with a small brush like a tooth brush. Then assemble it again.
It's glued down with some sort of dry in place glue to prevent water or dust getting in. You can pry the camera off but there is a chance of damaging it and rendering that camera useless. If you are replacing it then it wouldn't matter.
Lovely video, so professional. Can you tell me if both models the Exynos and the Snapdragon use the same Loudspeaker? I mean the bottom one. Thank you.
Nice job! Another method I’ve tried to get the Samsung batteries out is while heating the screen on the heat pad I use a suction cup on the battery, a little ISO alcohol on the right and left gaps of the battery and a plastic pick for the bottom of the battery and that usually works really well for me.
Well I stuck the sim removal pin in the wrong hole. Felt some resistance. I'm horrified that I may have damaged a microphone? Great video, was hoping to see what was down there...thanks.

There are different kinds of 5G networks. Only the mmWave 5G networks require the additional antenna assembly. I know that when you insert the sim tool through the hole of the microphone it will not be damaged, but could you explain if there is something in the hole and also what it hits at the end when you insert the tool, clearly something feels that there is inside of the hole.
There is a filter above the hole which covers the opening that leads to the mic. But there shouldn't be anything else in the hole aside from the curve in the frame that leads up or down to the mic so technically you should only be hitting the frame with your sim eject tool. Question. I'm getting a replacement from assurant because of black screen (lcd?). I'm pretty sure I will be receiving a refurbished phone. The problem is that they want my original phone. I am not happy to send a practically new phone in exchange for refurbished phone parts. I am looking to swap my original parts into new screen. Am I able to take all parts (most importantly the processor and memory etc)? Do you know if refurbished phones have lesser quality parts?
You can take all the parts from the old frame and move it over to the new (your memory/storage is soldered onto the motherboard), however you would need to re-apply new adhesive to your back plates to re attach them to the frame. Also you would have to make sure not to damage anything in the process :). I mean sometimes the refurbished units can have issues but compared to how refurbs were back in the day, I would say they are better now.

Pls also do a S21+ teardown if you had a chance.. To see if its internals are much closer to the ultra or the regular s21 or any differences.. I can see that the ultra actually has a bigger loudspeakers and fingerprint assembly ..great vid Keep it up🤩🤩

@@PBKreviews I think the reason the topside doesn't have the foam balls is that it might help with the stereo balance, since it's closer to middle than the bottom speaker The foam balls are super gimmicky anyway.
@@checkyourfax perhaps they try to equalize the sound quality between all the sizes, as you can see the ultra has bigger main bottom speaker assembly than the regular s21 which means bigger magnets.
A bit late to the party but here I am, wondering if I need to remove the sub board if I'm replacing my battery? Will those flat wires bend up out of the way enough or should I completely disconnect/disassemble?

Excellent video! I also liked your other video on the s 21
QUESTION PLEASE... I just looked at the S21 ULTRA at an electronic store here in the states, the back sounds like it's plastic but I noticed that you tap the INSIDE of the cover with your nail and it sounded like it was glass. IS THE BACK PLASTIC BUT THE INTERIOR MADE OF GLASS? I know that sounds like a stupid question
It's a type of glass, not like a glass you would find on a car window. Its all one material. If you compare it side by side to the S21, you will see and feel the difference. Also Thank you.
I appreciate the explanation, Thank you sir.
So the Boot says "Samsung Galaxy" and there is no "21".

@@PBKreviews Does the fact that it is missing the mmwave antenna's mean it does not support it?
yea, it wont support the mmwave 5G but still has sub 6GHz 5G.
Wonderful :), thank you! The cable that you believed is for finger print, i think is actually for the s pen support.
Oh ya I didn't think about that, you'r right its possible its for that. But there was another cable on the bottom of the screen connected to it, might be that also not sure. Didn't want to pry off and break the screen. :)
@@PBKreviews how can it miss the anthenas and be 5G?
It has the standard 5G antenna, just not the mmWave 5G that Verizon in the US uses. I believe there is a few other countries which a carrier that may use mmWave 5G but most don't.
@@PBKreviews so would that be a problem regarding signal strength in EU country?
No since the networks there don't use 5G mmwave. It doesn't affect the standard 5G signal strength. For example lets say its 4G vs 3G antenna. If the networks in EU dont have 3G, it wont slow the 4G or degrade the 4G strength. So basically there is no negative to not having it, just wont work for any carrier that uses mmwave 5G technology (which there are very few carriers that do).
Good video, thank you for the insights! 👍🏼

1:35 5G mm antennas missing, why?!
the rest of the world doesn't have 5mm wave. only the US so far widely supports it. the US version supports it. It is the same for iPhones, only the US variant has the 5 mm wave support.

Is the front facing camera secured with adhesive?
It's glued down with some sort of dry in place glue to prevent water or dust getting in. You can pry the camera off but there is a chance of damaging it and rendering that camera useless. If you are replacing it then it wouldn't matter.
Hey! PBKreviews does the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra have a Vapour Cooling/Chamber System inside it or any other type of Cooling System inside it at all?

Nice job! Another method I’ve tried to get the Samsung batteries out is while heating the screen on the heat pad I use a suction cup on the battery, a little ISO alcohol on the right and left gaps of the battery and a plastic pick for the bottom of the battery and that usually works really well for me.
Thanks! Ya that would work as well. Lately I have been using isopropyl alcohol more often, makes it much easier.

Yes its replaceable but not easy to do.
Why cant i get the screws to come loose. Any tips

According Samsungs website the exynos 2100 have 5g mmwave built in.
Modem
5G NR Sub-6GHz 5.1Gbps (DL) / 1.92 Gbps (UL)
5G NR mmWave 7.35Gbps (DL) / 3.67 Gbps (UL)
LTE Cat.24 8CA 3Gbps (DL) / Cat.22 4CA 422Mbps (UL)
It's possible the certain region you are in comes with support for the mmWave. Most international markets don't use mmWave so most exynos versions won't come with it. Just curious, which region is that exynos 2100 from?
How's the Exynos version this time?
How's the heating and battery efficiency like
Going to run a benchmark test on it soon, stay tuned.

I was wondering why would a 5G phone be without 5G antennas installed? Is this just for international versions or US as well? Thank you for all your work.
There are different kinds of 5G networks. Only the mmWave 5G networks require the additional antenna assembly. Most networks in the world use sub 5G which doesn't use those antenna, so that's why some versions will be missing those antennas since the region it is sold in does not use that type of 5G network. Still is a 5G phone.
Great video!

The mic would not be touched since it sits above the hole.
is glue required to close the back after opening?
Yes, you would need this adhesive: amzn.to/47x1vwv
Does the S21 Ultra RAM have any identifying markings on it
Any idea what size of tri point screwdriver do you need for the antenna?
Is the frame made of Steel or Aluminum?
aluminum alloy
Does putting Sim ejector in microphone hole ..damage mic in s21 ultra??

@@PBKreviews if I were to swap, would my IMEI still be the same? I would like to take their screen and but keep my parts. Just don't want them assuming IMEI is different if I take my original motherboard

Thank you for the video, but I have a question for this model, is it normal that when shaking the phone laterally, a noise is heard as if parts are slightly moving or loose?
yes it's normal, its the camera assembly 😀
So if I need to replace my motherboard (which I do), which one do I need to replace? The smaller or larger one.
My S21 Ultra has 2 known issues that are due to a bad motherboard (various phone crashes & no cell tower signal. Sim card works in other phones but will not text or call out unless I have wifi from another source).
It's the top larger one.
I have one of these and my volume and power buttons don't work. Are these repairable without changing the screen
The top speaker actually has foam balls too! The blue "window" is at the bottom of the plastic housing, seen it on photos and videos
