Interlude for 2 French Horns, Harp & Cello. Music by Myles Wright. Roman Panomarivo, Doree Dixon - French Horns, Louise McKay - Cello, Yinuo Mu - Harp.
Recorded Dec 2011 at Saint Georges Cathedral, Perth WA by Lee Buddle, filmed by Rex and Matt Raneri, Image Hunter Films
Programme Notes:
Born in 1978, West Australian composer Myles Wright originally composed the 'Interlude' for his graduate recital, in 1999 whilst studying at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. That version, did not have cello. Deciding to revisit the piece over a decade later, a cello was added "to help sustain the bass notes that the harp couldn't quite manage on its own. In this revised version, the harp and cello together provide a sort of 'bass continuo' at times."
As well as providing a foundation, the cello also has its own moment in the spotlight carrying the melody before the line is passed on to the horns.
'Interlude' is designed to be a "quiet moment of reflection and solitude". It was played at the funeral of Wright's father, in 2012, chosen by him before he passed.

I'm a cellist rn but i want to pick up french horn and harp in the future! This is simply fantastic!!!
A friend and myself, stumbled across this entirely by accident, but my word am I glad we did. I've played the French Horn for 11 years, but haven't picked it up in over a year. This piece has inspired me to start playing again! It's so beautiful, thank you for putting this on RUclips!
Thank you Anna, glad you like it, and glad you're playing horn again :)
I am so happy to have found this. A stunning piece of music for sure!
As hornist and cellist I love how these instruments blend so well together
10,000 hits, hooray! :)
I want this for the French horn..please? Like pretty pretty please
Relaxing, mellow, and a beautiful blend! I would love to hear more!
I don't know how i never found this- I actually had to go looking for something like this, and i've finally found it~ I've only been playing music for 7 years, and french horn for 2 of those years. However, i want my future career to be of music, and this kind of stuff really makes me feel good about that choice!
This is simply amazing! Breath-taking to say the least.
+kj dfg Thank you :)
Bravo to all! I am a 'returned' horn player coming from trumpet in my mid fifties although started on horn in high school. I especially appreciate the tone and intonation, I know the passion you require, not to mention the equipment to achieve that level of proficiency on that instrument! I'm working on it. Heaven forbid you're not focused, there goes tuning and articulation. B'bye. Its analogous to ice skating in socks. Most importantly, however, this just reaffirms my decision to listen to the beckoning back to horn.
Cheers, great job!
So beaultiful! Very nice combination of instruments
This is a lovely piece! I'm a former horn player, and I love this combination of instruments!
Beautiful. Will put on a spring 2020 concert for Romancing the Horn COncert sereis...
I’m a horn player. Right on

Thank you for your support Phillip! Best wishes to you
Beautiful, ethereal...nice combination of instruments.
This is sublime! My daughter plays the horn and I play the viola. I need someone to compose something for us to play together!
You can play horn and cello pieces, viola is an octave higher than cello but the same string
@@leixo Good idea, and I can transpose. I had to do that in my first primary school orchestra at the age of 9 or so! What horn and cello pieces would you recommend?
@@AnjaHuebel1 I was looking for and found this
