Jeff Babko is a session musician that replaced David Paich during some shows in 2000, in the Livefields tour, also he played piano in the Encanto soundtrack by Germaine Franco. Glad to see him here, doing a Tim Follin cover, with such a great synth solo.
Wow, never though someone would arrange this wonderful piece of Amiga gaming music! C64 version is way more popular, but this is the version I knew best.
Man these covers are amazing! I still can't believe that there's a channel making high quality arrangements of the Follin Brothers music. I hope your channel gets the recognition it deserves!
@@MylesWrightMusic momma here- i can't stop listening! Giving me some major Quincy Jones arrangement vibes on the big band sections, especially the big chords at the end! Solos are fantastic as well.
@@gwenlock Hi Mom! Thanks for your support, glad you like it. I love Quincy Jones! Check out some of the other charts on the playlist, you might like those also 🎼🎶
I'm a huge fan of this franchise (who also just uploaded an arrangement from it!) and I was so delighted to come across this, not to mention that as a trumpet player seeing Wayne Bergeron was such an unexpected surprise and I'm here for more :)
@@MylesWrightMusic I'd love to be me haha, I'll make a script and present it to you, and then we'll go to A24 or Paramount; and since we already have all the paperwork done, haha, as if it were that easy. Thank you for answering, you are great, seriously, it is impressive how you captured it symphonically. the part where the piano plays with the flutes in the background gives me goosebumps
it's very convenient to randomly remember tim follin now, years after i first heard of plok. it seems like a lot has happened in the past 18 months across the internet lol
Sure Drum Corps has it all, I can easily see Blue Devils do a chart like this along with a host of others. If you haven't seen a DCI show you have no idea what you're missing@@MylesWrightMusic
Love from India, song goes hard, arrangement is absolutely amazing! Any chance of an arrangement of Pictionary's Drawing Game? Lots of potential for a beautifully jazzy arrangement in that one!
@@MylesWrightMusic Sure, thank you so much! Please do take your time! Just a curious question from my side! What were the musician's thoughts on coming across Follin pieces for the first time? I'd love to know what professional musicians thought of his work!
@@Sh-hg8kf the recording sessions were very busy, so we didn’t chat much about it to be honest. Everyone was focused on the performance. I would imagine some of the players may have been curious and looked them up on the internet etc but they’re all busy doing many other recording work so it was probably just another session to them
@@MylesWrightMusic I see! That's interesting! I'd always assumed there was always a discussion of the piece before they got to practicing it, haha. I assumed many were 'bandmates' of yours, not session musicians at first :P
as a big fan of both 8 bit music, incidental movie and game music and a jazz musician, this hits allllll my buttons. love it! i love the subtleties of the orig but i get even richer depth here- esp the "quiet part". Plus I'm getting major Quincy Jones arrangement vibes on the big loud sections. love it.
RIP Geoff Follin.
Absolutely superb. Almost Alan Hawkshaw at times. Youve done Tim Follin proud.
this is insanely good..oh my god the improvised parts
The amount of love and care put into these arrangements and performances is on another level! Amazing work everyone involved! 👏👏
Thank you! 🤘

@@MylesWrightMusic I would love to hear y'all do Q's arrangement of The Wiz's Emerald City sequence. lol!
this is my new favourite song
Check out the original too 😉
As a Follin fan, I absolutely love this arrangement. Very well done! ✨️
Thank you!
I hope someone makes a truly faithful orchestral version of the original Tim Follin Amiga score.
Yet another awesome arrangement, Tim follin's music is really good, but this bumps it up to a whole other level!
I can't believe what I'm seeing/hearing. Timothy J Follin would surely salute you jazzy bastards. Incredible.
Los hermanos Follin son unos genios del chiptune ❤❤

The piano solo moment gives me Ecco the Dolphin (Dreamcast) vibes, another soundtrack by Tim Follin.
Another excellent arrangement and performance!
Thank you Dominic!

Well done, awesome choice and execution

One of my favourite on Amiga, thx you !
Woow!! Woooow!! Mind Blown! Love it
I expected a medley of the soundtrack, but what I got is great anyways.
This would make an outstanding Drum Corps Chart
even the quiet section in the middle?

Its great but dosent quite capture the haunting atomsphere of the Amiga original for me. Really good to see this classic get some love though.
Sorry but I don't like this arrangement. All the fairytale atmosphere of the original music, mixed with distant and evocative sounds, has gone away
This is more like a jazzy interpretation. But yeah, the original actually has greater emotional impact - and that's in 8bit and 4 channels!
