Such a richness of sound. A strong bass brass missing in my life since hearing Blood, Sweat, & Tears' Go Down Gamblin'. It was an awesome song to begin with, but in its arrangement by someone who not just understood the source material but found space within an already technical piece to make his own compliments, it gets that extra boost into the sublime. I am a fan.
For me, this is like Prog Rock in the gaming world

I wish Tim Follin would not be so down on his old work. I know he'd love to hear this.
I've listened to a few interviews with him, I don't think he's down on it necessarily, just that he did it a long time ago and he is in a different industry now. The internet etc didn't exist in 1993, so he had very little feedback on how good his music was at the time, apart from those of whomever he was developing the games he was working on

This is the greatest thing ever. Plok beach is probably my favourite videogame song, and this made it better!
I am in absolute, total, complete awe. This is something that has no reason to exist, but every single right to exist. A phenomenal piece of video game music turned into one of the best fusion pieces I've ever heard in my life.

Jeff Babko is a session musician who replaced David Paich during some Livefields shows in 2000 and played piano in the Encanto score by Germaine Franco and songs by Lin Manuel Miranda. Glad to see him here performing on a Tim Follin cover.

I would love to, but these recordings and videos cost a ton of $ to make unfortunately. So it won't be any time soon, but you never know. I did try to pick the best 4 tracks from the game that I felt were most suitable and worthy of this format

Absolutely brilliant! The Plok soundtrack is a true underrated gem of the SNES and this particular track is probably my favorite of the bunch. Thank you for giving it a new life. I would definitely buy a vinyl of this. Recording and mastering sounds amazing.

The guitarists part was insane and the drummer at the end was tickling my ears with the high hats, this is such a great rendition of this song. I guess I'll check out the original OST

Holy shit I just realized by watching this that the opening chord progression (Major 7ths moving down a whole step) is used in another key as part of one of my chord progressions in a song I wrote.
Now I feel cool and Follin pilled (even though this was unintentional when I wrote it I was actually more influenced by Periphery there)
