For real I love how the outro is half the song. Many older songs tended to fade out as soon as the outro hits and it's a literal crime against humanity. Funky drummer and little wing come to mind...

fr as a right handed person I am attempting to learn to play openhanded bc its better, so hard to build the left hand chops but itll be worth it once im up to speed
It's called open-handed drumming, and is one of the more common ways for left-handed drummers to play

Oh I completely agree. I've been writing more music in the last year than ever before - which was great. But I've been reaching a point of feeling like I wanted to be done. Like there isn't anything more for me to say, and no one wants to hear it anyway. Well this stuff has spun me up and my brain is swirling with ideas. This stuff is so damn inspiring how original, beautiful and groovy all of their music is. I'm so glad we found KNOWER!
This is happening to me as I type. Discovered them this morn. Already obsessed and excited about this band. Makes me want to pick up my guitar again. 🤯❤️
If the problem is finding new things, chinesemidiboard (start w/ no tears or jazzin out), please be quiet (don't start w/ this song but come around to it: what have I done to deserve this (please end my miserable life)), and lingua Ignota (start w/ caligula and go forward) are all unique artists.
On top of my ither suggestions, try out The body and dis figs' album "Orchards of a futile heaven". A Headphones are required for the full experience though
Louis Cole and Mononeon are absolutely perfect together.

yeah, that descending lil passage of chromatic 6ths or whatever in the slower part is the fucking perfect choice. it's not reinventing the wheel but rather it is EXACTLY what you want to hear. just sweet and delicious. when i first heard it i moaned.

actually the drums are very muffled, which makes the sound quality drop dramatically, I understand that Louis is a genius and he can do whatever he wants, but subjectively the drums are off.

Using a Juno 106 to play a clavinet type sound is such a delightful throwback to an era before digital synthesis became mainstream. Love it!
Facts !!!
The production of Knower’s recordings keep me coming back, but these live performances tie it all together for me. It is just so satisfying and refreshing to watch these people play it live. Even just for documentation I want to see more musicians have video of the takes & performances that make it on the album-there’s something that connects when you see the sound physically being made.
I’m pretty sure all the recordings on these videos (at least for the tracks on Knower Forever) ARE the recordings on the albums.
The sheer awesomeness is that the live video is the album track, and they write and produce it all. Purest form of "popular music"? I'm going with Yes, yes it is.

Seeing Mono Neon killing it with you guys after delivering high quality covers of your songs for years makes me very happy. As a lefty bassist myself as well, I have to convey how damn funky he is able to keep that pocket on a strung upside down instrument as well, so much more difficult. RESPECT my low end lefty brother.
I'm a lefty that tried learning guitar without flipping it to Hedrix style.

MonoNeon isn't actually left handed, that was just how he learned to play the bass growing up
I used to play upside-down bass when I was in college, but everyone told me it was "wrong" so I bought a lefty bass after I graduated

It's a weird world in which I'm watching a video and jamming to one of my favorite tunes, and then replying to someone about a sink at the same time...however let me tell you that a grate in the bottom of the sink solves one issue and creates another...you'll start to develop scum on the bottom of your sink constantly once nothing touches it and a film of water constantly sits there, filtering the air and all the grime around it. I have to clean my sink more with it than I had to without it.

I love this whole track, but the chiptune sounds from that ancient Juno-106 in the middle give me life. The big Roland keyboard is the sound of my childhood.

So much to say in this one for every member but need to focus on Jacob’s synth solo. So awkward and unusual and in total funk character for him in the kitchen. Perfect for the title and motif of this piece. Really enjoy how the duo of composers entered JM’s solo at half meter but unlike most composers, they choose to return back up to the original meter BEFORE (not after) he is done his solo. Tasty treat that does not happen by accident. The two leaders of KNOWER are very educated, talented and skilled at composition, creativity, musicianship and video editing. These “live” video recordings in “the house” are really awesome.
